There was an issue with service on one occasion, which happens, but the explanation by the manager was very disingenuous. I do recommend this establishment, but suggest beer or wine (great list) as I have been disappointed more than once with the drinks, specifically the Mojitos."

  • "If you want a drink on a terrace overlooking the canal, this is a good place. The noise level inside is overwhelming but it was lovely and quiet outside. The food is like an average diner - heavy on the salt & sugar - buty fish entree had a restaurant price of $22. This is a bar that serves food. Looked like a pretty vibrant & young bar crowd if that's what you are looking for."

  • "I took my 86 year old mother to Bourbon Blue for a post birthday dinner. She knew she was going to dinner but had no idea as to where. I know she loves Bourbon Blue's filet mignon and they didn't let her down. She ate everything on her plate and was ever more happy to have a Pepsi to quench her thirst. I truly recommend Bourbon Blue for a scrumptious meal for any occasion or just because."

  • "Went here for the all you can eat crabs and they weren't stingy at all they had the next round ready and waiting. The happy hour specials were a great deal too. We were very pleased and plan on coming back! Our waitress was great very attentive without hovering. The man singing that night did an amazing job and played a lot different songs we really liked him. I believe his name was Chris huff, I highly recommend checking him out."

  • "Nothing beats a Rocketship Martini on a summer night on the back deck- awesome! And the free cornbread with this delicious flavored butter is worth the visit alone. Lots of good finds on the menu including fried pickles, alligator quesadilla, and a yummy filet mignon sandwich. Sit outside if you can!"

  • "We can't say enough good things about the food at Bourbon Blue - they had a great menu and everyone was happy with their entree. They also had a nice drink selection - I got the Blueberry Lemonade... delicious! We made a reservation through OpenTable for Saturday at 7pm but we really didn't need one (unless we had wanted to sit outside... the deck was packed). I will say that I'm glad we were not in a hurry. We got drinks at the bar before being seated, and luckily we did... we didn't see a waitress for awhile. They were also quite slow on drink refills... their loss! Overall, we enjoyed the experience. It was a little pricey for regular visits, but it's a nice 'special occasion' place."

  • "When we first got there i was amazed at how empty a bar was. First impressions weren't great when we were greeted by the robotic emotionless hostess who took us to our seats. Girl needs to smile more as a hostess and just wasn't very warm and welcoming. We sat down and ordered drinks and an appetizer, the alligator quesadilla which I was excited to try never having alligator before. By the way the waitress was also not outstanding and could've shown more personality. Back to the quesadilla, it had great flavor and all but it came out cold and 90% cheese 10% alligator. My gf ordered the tomato soup, which tasted and looked like more of a pasta sauce. However, her risotto and my filet tip sandwich were incredible - so that's good."

  • "Tucked off Main St in the Manayunk section of Phila I never really noticed this jem. Went there for brunch with a last minute reservation with my mother, mother-in-law, husband and daughter. The food did not disappoint at all. Very good! The service was excellent and very accommodating to me. I made the reservation for four but showed up with five. They didn't rush us when we were done. Just a great family place."

  • "This is my second time at Blue Bourbon and both times were enjoyable. This time was Restuarant week and I ordered from the special menu, the Talapia was excellent but not so crazy about the veg. My friend ordered the pasta dish on special menu and while it was tasty was disappointed it wasn't spicy. I will go back but I think I prefer their regular menu choices it runs more true to the Cajun touch."

  • "First time diner here, and actually first time dining in Manayunk. Boyfriend and I love NOLA food, so we thought we'd give it a try for Restaurant Week. Cornbread served with maple butter - YUM. During the daytime, there is casual seating outside along a canal (I think) with not so much a nice view, but the sun feels nice. Seems like they have quite an extensive late-night happy hour service so we might come back on the weekdays to hang out. Indoor ambience is, eh, but if you're about the food and regular ol' house wine, this is a nice place to try. "

  • "We had dinner here a few nights ago and thought we'd do the restaurant week menu but when we saw the original menu we ended up ordering a few starts and two main dishes. The food was wonderful! I got fried chicken for my entrée and it was delicious! We also had the oysters on special and we both loved them! The service was great, we sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather! The host was very nice to warn us before hand that it was windy but we didn't mind! Overall this is a good neighborhood option. "

  • "Service was what it is supposed to be, they have a decent bar, the food was miserable. The crab cake entree was a lump of mashed potatoes overcooked in salt. The fried chicken was so salty it wasn't edible. I go out to dinner atleast twice a week for the last several years and I can honestly say this was the worst meal for what they charge that I've ever been to. Why pay 20 bucks for fried chicken that tastes like something I could get in a drive thru. Go somewhere else for food unless you don't mind quality."
