We had a wonderful meal before going to the ballet at Lincoln Center, just a block away. It was fabulous - fresh, bright Mediterranean flavors. Perfectly cooked seafood. This place is worthy of Daniel Boulud's name and more than met expectations for food and service.

Have been a few times before. Food this time was fine nothing more. My main issue is that the server didn't time the main entre properly. No sooner were we done with out appetizer than the main course was deliver ( Luke warm). We felt rushed when it wasn't necessary and detracted from the meal.

This is about the best of the many restaurants in the immediate neighborhood of Lincoln Center. It's great for an early, pre=performance dinner. And it's also great for a normal, somewhat later dinner.

A very small criticism: My friend and I could not finish our entrees and asked for 'doggie' bags. We both ordered lamb burgers. As we left the restaurant, we were handedidentical enormous bags with a small container of leftovers; no way to identify which was which. That was unfortunate and basically unresolvable. It's a small touch that needs refining. Otherwise, the dining experience was excellent.

The food here was good and it's a cool spot. BUT the service was terrible, and when you're paying $50/person for brunch, it should be better. The server acted as though my request for egg whites was tantamount to a request for moving mountains. Our lattes looked like ordinary coffees with too much cream poured in. No one checked on us and we had to flag down our server for the check. And when it arrived, we asked for her to bring it back quickly as we had a show to catch. It still wasn't back 10 minutes later so we needed to ask the hostess. It's a pity because the food was nice. But I don't plan to return.

Of all the wonderful Boulud restaurants, this is my favorite. The service is exquisite--knowledgeable, quietly there but not intrusive. The food is always interesting and varied. Love the North African twists--chicken tagine, interesting things with spices and vegetables. Who else would think of serving roasted Brussel sprouts with tahini? The $60 pre-theater prix fixe is a deal--you can easily spend that much in the Lincoln Center area and not eat nearly as well. The Mocha Cube dessert seemed to summarize it all--a perfect modernist work of art in chocolate and espresso, beautiful to look at and fabulous to eat.

Delicious food (gambas al ajillo, “Ras el hanout” spiced squash soup, harissa spiced lava lamb loin, pancetta-wrapped cavendish quail) and wine (Girolamo Russo Etna Rosso 2012). The service was great, especially the manager and the busboy (Samsool (sp?)). Atmosphere is sophisticated, yet warm and comfortable. I like the semi-open kitchen layout. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!

It's been since the last opera season that I've been to Boulud Sud for their weekend brunch. The food is still exceptional though little has changed on the menu since last year. The 3-course pre-fixe is as close to a bargain as you'll find in the Lincoln Center area. But at a restaurant of this caliber, my guest should not have had to ask four times for the coffee he had requested be served with his meal.

The staff is terrific. No waiting for tables. Right on time. Breads are a knockout. Food is exquisite. The best steak tartar I've ever had. Waiters very accommodating and manager was even better. Food preparation, presentation and selection was truly outstanding at this compact restaurant conveniently located just steps away from Lincoln Center. Once seated, you are quickly engrossed in marveling over the menus and making difficult choices among the tempting treats. Though tables are very close together, patrons were courteous. The service was delightful as we began our dining experience, but as the restaurant filled during prime time there was less attentiveness. Coffee ordered at the end of the meal sadly never arrived. Overall, this is a wonderful place for a pre-performance memorable meal.

The food at Boulud Sud the other night sang to be better than any performer ever could have at Lincoln Center across the street. The food is simply outstanding. They turned baba-ganoush into a dream spread, hummus into something so good I could have just ate that all night. And that was just the "chips-n-dip" starter. I don't even like octopus but I ordered it (grilled) on a whim for my appetizer - it was unbelievably good. I LOVED it. The spicy scallops were equally amazing for my entre. It was the best meal I've had in years. Simply put, magic on a plate!

Boulud Sud has met the challenge of giving diners a perfect meal before going to Lincoln Center. I think the limited choices are an advantage, enabling the kitchen to keep things moving smoothly. Since I come to Lincoln Center often, I have dined here in the recent past and know exactly what dishes are best. The octopus appetizer is tender and has a delicious sauce and the chicken tagine entree is moist and tasty. My friend enjoyed her pumpkin ravioli app and scallops entree. The ice cream for desert was a perfect ending. They even held my leftovers for me until after the performance, so that other audience members did not have to smell my chicken.

On the wonderful prix fixe pre theatre menu there are side orders also and some items I think were called Accompaniments?. The autumn vegetable tempura which included a wonderful Mediterranean cheese and a nice tsasiki (sp) on the side was otherwise a real mess of heavy stuck together veggies. By all means order the grapefruit guivre dessert! amazing....

I have eaten at Boulud Sud several times now, and it never disappoints. The food is superb and beautifully presented. I have yet to find a miss on the large and wide-ranging menu. The sharing items are all fantastic, and my favorite entrees are from the "de la mer" category, although the chicken tagine and lamb loin are also excellent. The grapefruit givré is without a doubt one of the most inventive and perfectly balanced desserts I've had at a NYC restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is housed in a beautiful airy space conveniently located across the street from Lincoln Center, making it a great spot for a pre-theater meal.

We have dined at Boulud Sud many times and enjoyed it, but this experience was really disappointing. We were seated for almost ten minutes before a drink order was taken and waited another 15 minutes for the bottle of wine. We were not even approached for a food order for a full 45 minutes. After that, things were better, but we were definitely over-looked throughout the evening.

Have had a few serious service issues, including last night when it took 25 minutes for the waiter to take our wine order, allegedly because there was only one Sommelier. Didn't like our table placement by the kitchen when the restaurant wasn't full. Food is really good, which keeps us coming back, but we may opt out in the future. Walked out whe seated in the bar area and had no server come to us for 20 minutes. We had a really bad experience in the outside seating area when server never put in our order, and essentially disappeared, probably fired. To their credit, the restaurant only charged us for wine in the outside incident. Still, it shouldn't take more than 2 hours to have dinner on a Monday night in September for 4 people.
