We are big fans of Boulette's Larder so were surprised to be disappointed with Bouli Bar. We had made a dinner reservation for 5:00 but were told when we arrived that they don't start serving dinner until 6:00. Since we didn't have another plan, we stayed and they seated us in the ferry building walk way. We ordered cocktails and several appetizers, the cocktails took forever, the food arrived first. One of us ordered a second cocktail and it took over ten minutes to arrive and there were almost no customers. The wait staff were very nice, but they seemed ill at ease and apologetic. Not sure what was going on. The food was good, just insufficient when we were expecting dinner.

everyone enjoyed dinner but we way over ordered due to the recommendation of the waiter - the overzealous male asian waiter.

Overall disappointing mainly I think because we were seated outside at small, shaky tables in the lot behind the Ferry Building near the Gandhi statue. There wasn't anything to delineate the eating area so you really do feel like you are eating in a car park. I had scrambled eggs which were fine (but pricey at $19) and my friend had the purslane salad (made vegetarian by removing ham) which looked a little hedge-like but was tasty. The service was pleasant and enthusiastic. The check was just over $50 (including an ice tea and toast) which felt too much for the overall experience. If you are paying a premium for location I would suggest eating inside.

We were excited to try this restaurant but were quite disappointed with the food. The location was great, the Ferry Building on a Saturday is quite bustling with activity. The decor was modern and comfortable, service was good and we were ready to be impressed..the salad for $18 was a small cup size portion, we thought it couldn't be right until the sauteed mushroom order came - another miniature dish (although it was very tasty), the sampler of 3 dips zero flavor. The 2 chicken legs itself a good size entree but tasted flat. In fact, there was no taste. We had to ask for salt which we NEVER do. The pizza, though it looked impressive, was bland. For those kind of prices, you really expect even a little better for your money.

Truly don't know any restaurant that pays more attention to detail. Their food is always Farmer's Market centered, as they're in the midst of the Ferry Building Farmer's Market. This is a dining experience for the discerning! Exquisite food and service, when you want to take time for a memorable meal, this is it.

The combination of ingredients and favors are not to be believed! This chef is a real genius in putting together unforgettable taste and beauty of food. It is a wonderful choice for a group of about 18-22 guests. I have been to 3 birthday gigs there and all different and retain own uniqueness.

Bouli Bar always has the freshest food possible. The food tends to have an eastern European flavor to it. My soft boiled eggs for the Sunday brunch was different having an Indian flavor to it. The beignets for dessert was a light light touch - they are a deep fried doughnut French style. I have been dining at Bouli Bar's original venue Boulette's Lauder for many years and am always fascinated with the flavors.

Bouli Bar has a great location inside Ferry Building and the tables, decorations are also great but it is very pricey! For a lunch salad with no meat that came in a medium size soup bowl, $16 was just too expensive. However, all the dishes were amazing including mezes.

There was a nice variety of choices in spite of a small menu. The seafood with socca was great as was the beef tartare. We will definitely go back.

Second time here and both times was met with an arrogant host and the worst service. Waited too long to be served then waited an hour for a pizza and when asked the server said there had been a problem. Never came back to let us know the status of our meal until we asked and then did not comp anything. This is the last time here even though the food is good. We came at lunch from work and were late getting back to the office.

I had the braised chicken leg with sliced duck breast and it was excellent. This is a nice spot, but I don't think I'd like to sit out on the Ferry Building hallway. Same chef, concept, decor in a different location would have boosted this to a 5 star review.
