Everyone from the chef to the waiters, and thus both the quality and its preparation to the food to the service, exhibited attention to detail. The staff at Bouley love what they do. For them food is a work of art. We were touched when the chef honored our honeymoon with a special desert and gift. Although we did not have the tasting menu, we were presented with multiple opportunities to taste special presentations from the chef. Service was warm, welcoming & humorous. We felt as though we were regular diners in this elegant setting. This is a gorgeous room that presents a spectacular experience in every regard. The sommelier was phenomenal in her choice of wine pairings. Especially fun is the attendant to the bread cart who makes his job of slicing these marvelous loaves to be his passion. Everyone from the person who welcomes you to the person who escorts you to the door really wants you to have an exceptional. The scent of apples and flowers take you out of the city and into an absolutely special. The service couldn't be better from the hostess to the sommelier to the waitstaff. There was no pretension in his attitude nor in any other waiter or server. We had the $55 luncheon tasting menu. We started out with 2 amuse bouches which were as stunning to look at as to taste. I won't go into every detail but suffice it to say that no detail was left out. My mother ordered only a main dish yet they still brought out small treats flor her. The dining room has a soothing French countryside calmness that simply heightens the taste, sight and smell of the delicious food. The food is outstanding, creative, flavorful - only the best ingredients. It is creative without being fussy or pretentious. For close to $1200 for five people I have had much better meals for considerable less money.
