My husband and I were delighted with our dining experience at Bouley. We enjoyed our 2 1/2 hour dining experience enjoying every entree's out of this world taste and presentation. We have been to a number of #1 spots in NYC and this has to be our favorite now. We promise you will not be disappointed. If you can go on an off night, you will enjoy the extra attention!!!!

Bouley is one of the best restaurants in NY. Simple like that. The place is very nice, elegant and at the same time it has a contemporary atmosphere. Service is 5 stars. They do the best to make you feel comfortable. From the guy nicely serving you the bread to the sommelier, they all make the experience special. If you want to celebrate something or simply celebrate life, Bouley is one of my favorite places. It was not the first time I went and won't be the last.

I came here for lunch with my foodie friend, both of us hoping to add Bouley to our list of Favorites. The decor was cool-entryway decorated w/fresh apples, vaulted ceilings throughout, beautiful art and furniture, even the bathroom! Service was excellent-close to 10 people taking care of us throughout the meal, from the hostess, to the waiters and servers. Our meal was nicely paced, which was a big plus as we often feel rushed. Bouley's lunch is easily the best fine dining deal in town, $55 for 5 courses (3 savory, 2 sweet)! Food was good but nothing really stood out, and some dishes disappointed (porcini flan). We left super full, and were even given extra dessert at the door. Glad we checked it out. Unfortunately, not our new Favorite.

The tasting menu was fantastic! Although it was my first time trying out a french tasting menu, it exceeded my expectations in all aspects - presentation, taste and service. My favourite was the Beef Cheek dish, it was braised for 12 hours and turned out really tender and flavourful. The home baked European bread was fresh, with a wide selection that made me hard to choose which one to try. We were also pleasantly surprised by the 3 additional complimentary dishes presented to us. Overall, it was a 5 star experience for me.

We were jet-lagged & exhausted but Bouley was a respite! The service was like watching a well choreographed ballet & although it started too fast, they soon figured out that we weren't in a hurry. The amuse bouche were lovely. A combo of strawberries & tomato ice actually worked & a truffled crisp was great. I was expecting the porcini flan to be like a chawan mushi custard, but it was more like an Asian soup with great flavors. The waitress brought us extra butter parsnip puree because we made such short work of it. My lobster with asparagus was enough for both of us - 2 large tails. Salmon with palm hearts was a disappointment because it had too much lemon zest. Bread...yum! I wish they'd open a bakery on the West coast!

The service was unparalleled and I have lived (and dined) in New York and other amazing food cities around the globe. They were warm, accommodating and made a special occasion extraordinary. The food was, simply magnificent. The lamb and the sheep's milk gnocci will make you cry tears of joy. My dining companion ate mushrooms (which he never, ever eats) and proclaimed them one of the best things he has ever eaten in his life. Carnivores, bread lovers, dessert lovers, wine snobs, foodies, lovers... you will all find something to talk about for days on end, reliving a meal like some people relive their wedding or the birth of their child. Yes, dining here IS that good.

this place is fantastic. Come here as often as I can and Bouley never lets me down. Had a visitor from overseas who forgot to bring a jacket for his trip, and the folks were kind enough to provide a fitting jacket for the meal. Only have one request - please bring back the old-style flan. The current rendition is great, but the version that was around back several years ago was just amazing. Can't forget the first time i had them - would love to taste the flan in the metallic enclosure again!

The 5 course price fixed menu at lunch is an incredible value with unparalleled service, presentation and food quality. We appreciated the ability to choose items from each category and with 2 people dining, we were able to sample quite a bit of the menu. The bread service is an additional treat! Bouley is in a class by itself. The gorgeous interior, the perfect. If you get up to use the restroom, someone will be waiting to pull your chair out for you before you sit down again. Your wishes are anticipated. And of course the food! We had the lunch tasting menu - five courses, plus the amuse bouche (gazpacho reinterpreted, whipped and creamy, with a few cucumber slices and a scoop of tomato ice cream, garnished with fish ice) and a delightful intermezzo (delicious eggplant terrine topped with creamy goat cheese). The summer menu has been the same each time, but the interpretation of the dishes varies. Be sure to taste some breads, but leave room for the two desserts.

we do not live in NYC but we come here every 2 months. we have been celebrating special occasions in the restaurant for the past 10 years. we normally use it for lunch given the bargain (cost/benefit) of the pre fix lunch. the food is excellent in general although sometimes (as this last one for eg) we feel they could use a little more salt- it may be our ittalian taste though. we still need to try Bouley for dinner although i have the impression it would be substantially more expensive. Wine selection is very good too. definitely the place to celebrate a special date and, if you are not in the mood to spend a lot on food and have a tasting experience, go for the pre fix 5 courses!

Though we didn't mention our special occasion to any of the servers, their attention to our dining experience was perfection, accompanied as it was with their complete knowledge and even humor. There were four of us for lunch and we ordered the tasting menu paired with wine. Just splendid. Not being oenophiles, it was easy and enjoyable to have the professionals take care of us. The chef sent out several special tastings in-between the established 5 courses. The flavors and textures were sometimes surprising and always pleasing. I would have liked to take away all the descriptions and names of the wines we drank - but am happy to savor the remembrance. And we discovered sauce spoons!

Were did it go wrong? It started with a dining room that resembled a funeral parlor. Then, we were given lunch menus although were dining at 7:30PM. What followed was a meal that I am ashamed I paid for. My wife and I ordered the tasing menu. The first course (mushrooms in a coconut broth with tuna) was lacking salt and fishy. The wild salmon was just bland. The third course was a poached pheasant egg with comte, ham in a coconut garlic broth. The lamb was competent albeit, very small. The desserts tasted good, but are ultimately forgettable. All in all, eating here was a bad decision. This resaurant is masquerading as better and more refined than it is. A better tasting dining experience can be had elsewhere for half as much.

Hard to believe that this kitchen could get better but there were a couple of dishes, notably the giant sea urchin, which had been tweaked to make them even better. The opening dish (amuse bouche is a wholly inadequate sobriquet) was simply gorgeous. We ate the 5 course tasting lunch - tasting menu summons images of tiny morsels and smears but the helpings are generous without overwhelming. Add to that another five complimentary dishes from the Chef and this is the best value fine dining in NYC.
