A word from Bouley
Bouley features the exciting culinary talents of famed four- star Chef, David Bouley. Bouley offers French cuisine with modern Asian influences served in an elegant and intimate setting.

In addition to the á la carte menu, the restaurant offers a $55 five course tasting menu for lunch and $175 six course tasting menu for dinner. Parties of 8 or more may order from the tasting menu only and deposit is required to secure a reservation. Chef Bouley is always happy to accommodate all dietary needs and restrictions.

Jackets are required for gentlemen at both lunch and dinner.

  • "As always , Bouley never disappoints .I took my sister for a birthday celebration recently on 23 June , and she was as completely charmed as I always am by everything they have to offer at this magnificent , gastronomic, palace . After dining here for many years in all of their locations , and after having visited nearly all of New York City's " haute " dining temples , Bouley is hands down the very best in my opinion . The atmosphere is exquisite , and the staff are masters of hospitality and their knowledge of food and wine is impeccable . Everyone is gracious, pleasant , and deferential in such a charming manner . One has not truly experienced fine French dining in NYC unless they've paid a visit here . I shall always return ."

  • "Bouley is beautiful and romantic. When you enter, the foyer wall bookshelves are filled with hundreds of sweet smelling apples. The main dining room is gorgeous. There are many romantic tables along the walls of the room. Our server was first class. The sommelier was very helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. They gave a bread cart with about 10-15 different kinds of bread you can choose ... you can try all of them if you like. We will definitely return."

  • "Expecting great things of Bouley we were not disappointed. The surroundings are opulent but intimate. The staff attentive but professional. The food absolutely first class. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone with an interest in food and flavour combinations. Our experience was in no way diminished by choosing to visit at lunchtime. The only disappointment was that those of us who chose the beef cheek found it absolutely delicious but too rich for us to finish. I would love to revisit, and if we return to New York will surely do so."

  • "I am an F&B manager for a boutique hotel in Costa Rica and this past trip to NYC was specifically designed around food. I went to other restaurants and tried different tasting menus but Bouley's left me speechless. The quality of the food, the subtleness of the flavors, the beautiful plating and the wonderful service made my experience at Bouley one of a kind. The only thing I would improve is the communication between runner and server. Several times I saw a runner leave the food at a table without even signaling the server to be able to come to the table and explain the dish. The highlights of my meal were the succulent Porcini flan and the slow braised kobe style beef cheeks with gnocchi. The desserts were amazing as well. Many thanks!"

  • "Treat yourself to a meal at Bouley's! The food is impeccably prepared, plated and served. The $55 Price Fixed lunch is a great deal. With a significantly varied selection of food choice. And they bring you treats along the way - like lobster terrine! A lovely man brings around a fresh bread cart offering you slices from at least 10 kinds of fresh baked loaves.The room is beautifully designed and decorated. The chairs are comfortable upholstered arm chairs or settees. The staff is abundant, ever ready to serve you but never oppressive or too much. For a special occasion, to lift yourself up, or for no other reason than to eat a most delicious meal, go to Bouley's!"

  • "I've dined at Bouley three times previously in the past couple of years, but this is the first time I've been put at a table downstairs. I found the room claustrophobic, though architecturally interesting. Service downstairs seemed somehow "less" than what I had been used to upstairs. Strangely, this extended even to our exit--typically the host/ess would hand me a bag with a delicious little cake to go. And though the bags were lined up on the shelf as we exited, the hostess looked at me, said goodbye, and did not hand me a bag. Odd. The food itself is good, but by the third time of eating some of the Bouley creations like the mushroom flan or a chilled fruit soup, it was less of a "revelation". Still, wonderful use of black truffle."

  • "I came here because I needed my dose of Haute French for the night. Actually, for the one week stay in NYC, this is night one of a two night French extravaganza. The food was delightfully prepared but not very striking. It is pleasant to the eyes, a bit small servings but othrwise very clean to the palatte though a bit bland. I am very impressed by the ten different choices of breads in their cart - as if there is no tomorrow. Not to mention that they gave away "gift bags" of two loaves of their breads as the customer leaves the establishment. As for the scenery, transforming the location to something French provencale is very unique - all that in the middle of Tribeca too. But probably I would lay down a bit on the flowery smells."

  • "I was taking a client out for dinner and was looking for a high end/memorable experience. The restaurant is beautiful. The waitstaff was attentive. Once the food began to arrive, we were underwhelmed. We decided that I would order the tasting menu and my client ordered an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Our idea was to share all we ordered. Although we did do that, we were also told that "Chef Bouley does not like people to share." For the money that I was paying, I really did not care what the Chef thinks. The best part of the meal was the bread, which really was delicious. The rest of the courses were trying too hard and left both of us wondering...what is all the hype about."

  • "This was one of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had. The waitstaff was fabulous, the atmosphere was wonderful. The lunch tasting menu was an excellent value at $55 for five courses. We were given several complimentary small dishes, along with a complimentary lemon cake upon our departure! My dining partner's duck did not have enough flavor for her tastes, and the accompanying polenta was somewhat bland. Her porcini flan was unremarkable. The experience of dining here was over-the-top. All my food was excellent, but I chose a few dishes that were out of my comfort zone, like beef cheeks and the egg option, and I didn't care very much for them, but I felt they were just not the right choices for me; still excellent."

  • "We had not heard of Bouley before but were looking for a French experience during our 4 day 'foodie junket' in NYC. We came across his restaurant when searching for Japanese kaiseki restaurants and happened on Brushstroke. The dining experience at Bouley begins on a positive note with the smell of apples just stepping off the street into the foyer. We each had the 5 course tasting menu. We have rarely experienced such a rich, complex umami flavor as we did here. Of particular note in this regard was the Forager's Treasure of Wild Mushrooms, the Porchini Flan and the Organic Long Island Duck. The insinuation of black truffle in some form or the other certainly contributes to the success. We look forward to returning on our next visit ti NYC."

Treated like royality and they said easily the best experience in a restuarant they have ever had--and they have been married going on 35 years! While the food was over the top, the stand-out was the service. They live in Montgomery, Alabama and I can bet that Bouley will see more devoted patrons from the deep south! The chef and his staff at Bouley really sets a high standard of restaurant business, which makes other followers hard to follow up. Truly magnificent. I have lived and eaten at many great restaurants in Paris, Lyon, Avignon, etc. Bouley is a supreme shrine for food lovers. We cannot eat at Bouley everyday, and the experience is so rich that we cannot keep up with the chef each time. It is an honor to the city of New York that we have a magnificent restaurant like this. If Paris has the Louvre Museum, New York has the Bouley."

  • "Found this restaurant on-line. Wanted to have a special lunch for my birthday in NYC and Bouley looked like a great place. The restaurant is beautiful, the service absolutely impeccable, and the food was fabulous. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Every dish from the amuse-bouche to the dessert was delicious. My favorite though was the mushroom flan (with an Asian twist). It is a must try dish. The ambiance, the service, and the food reminded me of restaurants in Paris or San Sebastian. We will go back there next time we are in NYC."

This speaks volumes of the chef's dedication to not just making the food taste divine, but to catering to his client's every nuance so their dining experience is unforgettable. Inexpensive it is not, but that is okay because this is not a restaurant to be taken lightly. You need to dress properly and be prepared for a meal that has more flavors then you thought could really exist. The tasting menu will leave you stunned by what you have enjoyed over the course of several hours and the wine paring option should be a requirement. A+ There is literally not a finer restaurant in New York."

  • "The lunch I had at Bouley on June 6, was by far the best and most enjoyable restaurant I experience I have ever had. From my first sip of wine, to my last taste of the most scrumptious chocolate soufflé ever, I could not have been more pleased. Chef David Bouley has a great knack of making dishes both incredibly light and remarkably tasty at the same time. I remarked that if these dishes had wings, they could fly away. If you are going to Bouley for lunch, I recommend that you order the price-fix tasting menu. It gives you a wide variety of choices for only $55.00. Be sure and include the farm egg as one of your choices. Outstanding! The staff was extremely attentive and courteous . They could not seem to do enough for me."

The friendly Maitre ds treat you so well, I am on a crazy diet that I can't have any Grains including sugar, Starchy veggies and Vinegar, but the Chef happily and amazingly made everything to accommodate me so wonderfully! The food was an Art and wonderful.. It was a shame that I couldn't have any of David Bouley's beautiful bread which came in a cart..hey even had some Gluten-free bread. The $55 tasting menu including 2 kinds of desserts and Pettit Four was so reasonable for the exquisite food AND a pound cake to go! As I requested a candle on my friend's dessert, they brought her an extra cake, with " Happy Birthday" message on the plate! A Superb restaurant! "

We were clued in that its a new location from which we last visited and its just great. The food was fantastic and the service was very nice and friendly.
