Ordered 4 app's and 3 entree's along with cocktails and wine spent over $400.00 for the 4 of us and the waitress had the balls to tell us there would be a $4.00 sharing charge becuse we only ordered 3 entree's??? Will not be back, to many great places to eat in SAN FRAN!!"

  • "A waiter at another restaurant recommended Boulevard to us. We thought the food was very good, but for those who don't love different preparations, it might be difficult to find something to eat without modification. The noise was almost unbearable. Table of six jolly businessmen and women were either talking much too loudly or the acoustics are terrible. After a day working and touring, the energy was a bit too high for us. The decor is sleek but has a warmth that should have softened the evening for us. All in all, a nice place to visit, but we probably wouldn't come back on our next visit to the city."

  • "This was our third time eating at the Boulevard and as they say, "three times a charm". We received the most outstanding service from Aaron. He was very attentive and friendly. The food was quite good. Had a bit of a problem with an over-cooked fish however Aaron was on top of things. He insisted on making things right with the meal - and worked to make sure that replacement dish was to our satisfaction. We will not hesitate to eat here again."

  • "Tired of all the "chowder in a sourdough bowl" places? Go to Boulevard for a fine dining experience - meaning high quality food and attentive service. We tried the Calamari, Ahi Tuna, Scallops, & Crab appetizers - fresh & flavorful. Mains included: Sea Bass & Pork Chops. Deliver of the mains was slightly off in timing, but the restaurant staff & management quickly stepped in with apologies and a generous comp'ed set of desserts. Their prices are not cheap, but the food quality and service earn the higher price. They are a pleasant change from the high volume eateries along the Fisherman Wharf area."

  • "My date ordered Lamb which we she requested medium Rare. It was served very rare. We sent it to be put back on the grill. It came back modertely better but unacceptable. They took it back and we ordered the Filet Mignon instead and it was excellent. My Pacific Bass was not excellent but still very good. Our appetizers were risotto and also heiroloom tomato and buratta and both were excellent. It did not meet our expectations but was still a very nice evening. My Date and other food afficianados say we should ask for a credit of some sort to use in the future. Our total bill was $ 212.00 I would like to give this experience another try.   • "My wife and I are Boulevard fans but the waiter this night acted disengaged from the beginning and was inattentive. The final proof of this was totally forgetting to bring (actually to even register) our wine order. Perhaps he was just having a bad night and I like to think that is what it was. The food/drink was great. We had a couple of martinis and to rat we had the Ahi tuna and soft shell crab and the Filet. As always the atmosphere and surroundings were fun."

  • "I had wonderful service and great food two months ago at my relative's birthday dinner. I don't know why this time there is a huge difference. May be because it's a "Tuesday" night...that the master chef was off or may be there was a convention in town that Boulevard couldn't handle the crowd? This time was my friend's birthday and we were dying to enjoy the excellent food and exceptional service again. Bus boys weren't that attentive and the wait staff from the reception to our waiter were not up to our expectation for this dining experience. They all had cold faces and made us felt unwelcome. Food was average with nothing to brad about. I really feel hesitated if I should come back the next time."

  • "We recently surprised my husband for his birthday at Boulevard. The staff carried off my requests -- seating our son and girlfriend early -- and the surprise was a success! They also gave us a corner table that provided our own space for a wonderful visit and easy conversation. The food was fabulous, starting with the scallops, continuing to the fish entrees (the halibut was amazing), to the delicious desserts. The service was attentive but not intrusive. It was truly a wonderful way to celebrate!"

  • "We took a client of ours to Boulevard and everyone was pleased. Our client specifically asked us for a place where it was quiet, because we were going to be discussing a lot while we were there. It was perfect- we were seated towards the front of the restaurant in one of the little nooks. We ordered the tuna tartare to start off with (the chips that it comes with on the side are so yummy!). I ordered the salmon for my entree- loved it. It also came with fried green tomatoes, another favorite of mine. I'm looking forward to coming back!!"

Though the restaurant is only 23 years old, there is an oldworld elegance that you notice as soon as you walk in and see the beautiful tile work and stained glass lighting. The food was excellant, though do not expect the large portions that Americans have gotten used to. For me, the portions were perfect. The presentation of all the items we had was splendid. Enjoyed it thoroughly."
