  • "Service, food, and drink options were great! A step up from the standard California/American cuisine. The food comes out very quickly with no pause between plates. Almost felt rushed at times, but much better than waiting too long for your order. Pleasantly surprised by the energy and how full the restaurant was on a Tues night at 630pm. Overall, great experience and I'd go back for an after work drink and nice, unpretentious dinner."

  • "We've dined here for special occasions over the years and it never seems to disappoint. Sea Bass cooked perfectly with wonderful citrus salad; filet grilled perfectly with fragrant fresh mushrooms. Appetizers all sounded so interesting and delicious. Crab salad and beet salad were fabulous. These salads, entrees sound normal in their titles, but they are nuanced with layers of flavors and very interesting atypical ingredients. Servers are smart and knowledgeable, know the menu in depth, recommended wines to complement the food. Restaurant is beautiful inside..views of the Bay Bridge lights added to the ambience. Would like to add one negative item to show a more balanced review, but I cannot think of one. This place is a gem!"

  • "A long-time favorite with, usually, great food and service. Dungeness crab - fresh, excellent flavor. I had the pork chop and the first one was, in my opinion, overcooked. They tried, again, but half of it was raw as opposed to medium rare. What I could eat from the second chop was good, but the entire dish marred by the half-cooked meat. My companion also had the pork chop and he judged his as excellent. Service was impeccable until the miss with the chop, but then recovered. Visited by a few suits to ask about the chop and to apologize its preparation. Kudos to the maitre d - friendly, responsive, and helpful."

  • "When I made our reservations online I asked for a romantic table not knowing anything about the restaurant. It was referred to us by a friend who lives in Napa. We were visiting from Fl. They gave us a small table in a corner window that was awesome. We had appraisers thru dessert and everything was wonderful. It would be my first choice if we visit SF again."

  • "Did not disappoint...food was tasty, portions were just right with the exception of the salad which resembled a tiny Christmas wreath sprinkled with some nuts, cheese squares and a sliced un ripened pear. service was first rate, Desert yummy...although the Rocky Road brownie was way over the top...too much chocolate......Cheesecake was delicious. Also entertaining was watching the open kitchen and sous chefs and all putting in all together in concert. Noise and atmosphere very palatable. Thank you Brett our server for giving us a thumbnail history of the Boulevard...and for his excellent service. RB"

  • "We enjoy many restaurants, but ding at Boulevard is always a refresher in nobody does it better. This time was pre-concert so we kept things light with scallops and ahi poke for appetizers and sea bass and halibut for entrees. Left enough room for cheeses and first of the season strawberries served with a very light olive cake. Service was attentive, but not fussing. we'll try other places in the future but this is the place we will return to."

  • "Found Boulevard when visiting San Francisco with my husband. We were thrilled and cannot wait to go back on our next trip. Everything we had was amazing! We chose to sat at the bar even though we had a reserved table and we were so glad we did. Watching the chefs prepare the food was so much fun! The place operates like a well oiled machine! The pork chop was to die for and I had a sea bass with risotto which was equally wonderful. For dessert, we had a buffalo milk cheesecake which was among the best things I've ever had...and I usually prefer chocolate! Will definitely be going back!"

  • "one of my favorite SF restaurants always, Service is perfect - not over bearing, not intrusive, but always there when you need someone. I had the halibut which was succulent and well garnished. I guess the only thing that keeps me from eating there more is the price which has inflated every entree to $35+. Add an appetizer, a glass of wine, a desert and it's easily $100 per person. I'd say it's worth it but is any meal really worth $100 more than once or twice a year when there are so many people still hungry?"

  • "Started with the scallop appetizer. They were sweet and perfectly cooked. My husband had the quail, which was tender and tasty and I had the pork chop, probably the best I ever had. We ended with a crime brûlée, that was to die for and a muscato dessert wine to top off the evening. The waiter was so wonderful. He comped us on the dessert because he heard it was our anniversary and the pastry chef wrote Happy Anniversary across the Brûlée. It was great"

  • "We first visited Boulevard many years ago, on a dreary rainy evening. The place is so cozy and clubby, we had a romantic and memorable dinner. We returned this weekend, and were not disappointed. Especially nice was the attentive server who had continual concern for one allergic diner in our group. We are impressed, since restaurants are not always so informed about their menus to point out trouble spots. We all all fish, salads, and a great chocolate dessert. My only comment was that our entrees should have been much hotter. But still, everything was tasty and we enjoyed ourselves."

  • "The atmosphere was great- neat restaurant. Good bread, good wine. The food all looked amazing but everything was a little bland. Tuna appetizer was ok. Had a filet and it just lacked flavor. Had cheesecake for dessert- was tasty but a very small portion. Service was a little snooty and rushed. For what we spent I was a little disappointed. We enjoyed getting pictures by the bridge afterwards."

  • "The only negative I had in our dining experience was that our food was cool when it arrived, the waiter was quick to take our plates and ask the chef to refire our food, but the second plate was sub-par. I ordered the lamb and the helping I got was stringy and had lots of gristle. I just didn't want to be that person and send back a second plate."

The waterfront location provides a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge, yet the restaurant is filled with local flavor, ie not touristy. And the food and wine were just as perfect. Fresh, wonderful sauces and creative preparations. And if the staff treated us any better I'd have been spoiled for life. BTW I have no financial ties to Boulevard. I really do just love it."

  • "Great location off the embarcadero and next to the Bay Bridge. Service Impeccable. Food Outstanding. We got situated in a nice little nook at the corner of the restaurant. Pinots were tasty and went well with the best calamari I have ever had. The octopus was not entirely deep fried and greasy. The texture was great and the seasoning of the octopus went well with the dark colored fried rice. My favorite dish of this entire meal. For entrees we both ordered different types of fish which was soft and flavorful. Service ended with the delicious butterscotch pudding and red velvet bon-bons. The bon-bons were just ok to me but that pudding really took me by surprise... the texture and the presentation really did it for me. Highly Recommend!"
