A word from Boulder Cork
The Boulder Cork Restaurant has provided quality food and excellent service since 1969. The restaurant is now one of Colorado’s most renowned dining experiences. The casual, yet attentive atmosphere is the perfect place to spend a special evening, be it to relax with friends or entertain business associates. Our banquet facilities can accommodate large groups with the quiet proficiency and superior quality that has become the hallmark of The Boulder Cork. The food is an impressive display of creativity and variety, masterminded by the chef, Jim Smailer. Chef Smailer has created an enticing offering of steaks, prime rib, chicken, pasta, and fresh fish selections; all on the cutting edge of culinary delight. The food is as fresh as the market allows. The true epicurean will agree that our efforts are apparent to both the eyes and the palate, from the appetizer through the handmade desserts.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Brought the family to the Cork for Easter Dinner. As usual, they didn't disappoint. Staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. Food was excellent, Steaks and Prime Rib were butter knife tender and tasteful. Appetizers and salad choices were outstanding and their wine list was well paired for our entrees. Thanks to the Cork Staff and Chef's for not failing to impress my guests."

  • "Service, facility and menu was great, however the service cycle was very slow and food quality average at best. Lamb was loaded with fat about 50%, veggies were cold, just not what you would expect at this type of establishment. We did not complain since we were out for Easter dinner and preferred to spend our time catching up with our kids"

  • "I took my son and five of his college friends here for dinner while visiting. Both food and service were outstanding. I will definitely visit again next time I am in Boulder."

  • "Food was great but Julie our waitress was wonderful."

  • "Lovely restaurant. The mussels were too big and mushy. The prime rib was awesome but the salmon special was so-so."

  • "In a town known for foodies and "unique"'and special experiences, The Boulder Cork stands out as providing delicious food In a comfortable atmosphere. Maybe the best salmon I've had in Boulder--perfectly cooked, moist and flavor able. I would go back and take friends and family!"

  • "My husband and I spent another anniversary here. When you tire of dealing with the mall scene on a weekend night, who doesn't love The Cork? It's such a dependable classic. The parking is easy, they take reservations for small groups, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, the wait staff is completely helpful and knowledgeable WITHOUT attitude. The wine list is still one of the best in town. Our Mahi Mahi was fresh and delicious and the chef was very happy to accommodate me to adding different sides to my dish. We always walk away pleased from this place."

  • "My wife and I have eaten here for over 30 years. It never disappoints. However, we had not been for dinner in several months and made the mistake of forgetting that it is not really for a romantic special occasion . Except for her lamb chops being very fat and somewhat chewy, all of the other courses were excellent. The poached mussels were incredible. It's just too noisy with too much bustle for anniversary dinner."

  • "FOOD WAS JUST OKAY AND WAY OVER PRICED!!! MANY STEAK REST IN DENVER ARE BETTER SERVICE AND FOOD AT MUCH MORE REASONABLE PRICES."

  • "We've been celebrating birthdays at the Cork for years, not only for atmosphere, service, and good food, but for the final touch: complimentary mud pie with a candle topping it off.."

  • "I was treating my friend to a lunch because it was her birthday, so it made it special when the server took our picture and brought out a birthday card with the picture on it! It also was nice to be treated to a free dessert that we split (and which was very good too)."

  • "simply the best meal we've had in yeras! The service and friendly atmasphere is extraordinary."

  • "The restaurant was very crowded for a Wednesday evening, but the hostess sat my party at the back of the restaurant in the Fireplace Room. Wondering ambiance, excellent service, drinks, wine. My favorite spot in Boulder."

  • "I normally do not complete surveys or reviews, but felt I must speak out for others. The service was wonderful, the food tasted great, but the meal was incomplete, very disappointing. When you spend $50 on an entree and get no salad or sides included, that's plain stupid. Sides are available at a hefty charge, salad too. It's embracing to you and your guests. I would much rather drive to Morrison to The Fort where you can get a complete meal and much better atmosphere for the same or less cost. The Cork is not even in the same league as The Fort. We will not return or recommend The Cork."

  • "Had a wonderful experience. Service was excellent, food was great in all categories; menu selections, portions and how the meal was prepared. The wine list was one of the best we have seen. This was our first time but certainly won't be our last visit to the Cork."

  • "Overall great experience. It was very crowded and noisy, but you could see why when the food arrived. Everything was superb and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. The bar was small, service was a little slow and background noise was on the edge of annoying. It was hard to have a conversation, but the food was worth it. I would go back but not on a first date"

  • "We really enjoyed the service and the friendly staff. The recommended wine was what I was looking for. I had the prime rib and my husband a fish dish. The prime rib was cooked to perfection."

  • "Last minute birthday dinner plans at 6:30 pm. Found the 5280 Restaurant Week Special and an excellent recommendation from a former Flagstaff employee. Booked through Open Table for 7:30, but called and was told that we could be seated earlier. We arrived as were told that we could wait in the bar, but then was allowed to be seated at 7:05 pm. Dan our waiter, who never introduced himself, was solemn. Perhaps our casual dress, selection of the Restaurant Week meals and non selection of alcohol due to my long day and long drive ahead, was a generalization. We observed the other wait help smiling with extremely pleasant and humorous demeanor. I was almost about to ask the manager to seat us in another section. But Dan lightened up and was okay."

  • "Food was excellent and service great. The dessert was to die for. Ambiance was the mark of an excellent restaurant."

  • "What can I say. This restaurant does not disappoint. The steak oscar was delicious. It was cooked exactly as requested. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Exactly as it should be. My daughter and I were in a quiet room with a gas log and nice paintings. There were other dining parties including children but the tables are not crowded and it is quiet."

  • "The food was above average and the ambiance was quiet & cozy. However, the service was less than stellar. We were there during Restaurant Week and got the typical "snooty" Restaurant Week service that makes you feel as if you are no more than a nuisance. The two best items we ate were the crab cakes and prime rib was excellent."

  • "The Cork presented us with a marvelous selection of $52.80 dining choices. Our selection was outstanding. Our waiter was experienced and accommodating, plus actually got the order perfect! The noise level was rather loud, but I suppose that showed good business. Having a booth made our conversation flow rather than a table in the middle of everything. We appreciated that. We also appreciated the advanced reservation opportunity and reservation confirmation. We have patronized the $52.80 dinners for over 6 years and have decided that The Cork was one of the best places next to The Palms in Denver."

  • "My husband and I dined at Boulder Cork for the first time during restaurant week. We weren't quite sure what to expect though. The appetizer and the desserts were amazing but the main courses left us wanting a little more in the way of quality. We thought they would be much better from all the other reviews we'd read and their steakhouse experience. That said the service was excellent and the waitstaff very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list."

  • "Prime rib was delicious and I would definitely order that again. The wedge salad was not great, strange dressing. Maybe try another salad because the rest of the food was very good."

  • "Once again, we were not disappointed by the food. We happened to dine early and caught the early bird specials for dinner. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and quite a deal."

  • "The Boulder Cork is a great place to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion. Our waiter was great and he even brought the birthday girl a huge piece of their famous mud pie that we all shared. The Lobster Ravioli I had was fantastic and the Filet Oscar was quite yummy, too. Nice size portions and attentive staff made the night a success, which can be tricky on a Sunday. Thanks, Cork, for continuing the great food and service you have been known for since 1969!"

  • "Great place for drinks after work and great dinning. Top notch service and on time waiters. The only problem is places to park. You would have to walk about a block after finding a parking place. The food is on the high end. You should expect prices to be high, however, the food is excellent."

  • "We had a very good dinner at the Boulder Cork on Valentine's weekend. Were seated immediately, good service, excellent food. The restaurant did fill up while we were there, making it a little bit noisy, but tolerable. Recommend this for a special occasion dinner."

  • "Boulder Cork is good enough that we keep going back. Our server, Ethan, took good care of us without "hovering". All the waitstaff has always been terrific. Food can't be beat."
