BouchonUps and downs at BouchonOverall a very nice experience at Bouchon. Our reservation was ready and we were promptly seated by a slightly snooty woman. We requested a seat outside which was a mistake. The outdoor seats are right next to the road (3 feet away) and numerous UPS and FedEx trucks whip up and down. There are also many smokers around and the smoke can waft into the outdoor area.
Once seated we found the wait staff superb. True professionals not just people biding their time because they cant find acting jobs. Attentive but not intrusive.
The food was perfectly plated and well prepared but the menu lacked variety in some areas. They had a few nice specials to jazz it up but I would like to see some more interesting selections on the standard menu.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA comida é muito boa e o serviçoA comida é muito boa e o serviço excepcional, porém estava muito barulhento.
Mas voltarei lá outras vezes...5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. WouldGreat food and service. Would not recommend for a romantic night out. Tables very close and noise level high.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely wonderful food.Absolutely wonderful food. Our favorite in Napa and in Las Vegas. Always something new and exciting on the menu!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Brunch!First time for Brunch at Bouchon ... they did a great job! Probably the best eggs I have ever had. Don't miss the pastry basket. here is a reason why 50 people are standing in line at the bakery ... everything they make is heavenly!
Tables are a bit crowded (they are really going for that "bistro" feel) and I wish they had of spaced us out better (only 6 tables seated in restaurant, yet they sat people at the tables immediately next to us).
Great staff and even better food!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSteady and DependableBouchon has been a reliable and consistent restaurant since it opened 15 years ago. It is the most authentic French bistro in California with great service and fabulous food and wine. No wonder Thomas Keller dines there!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMParis in the Napa.We were 10 days into a US trip when we were recommended the Bouchon. Best restaurant yet in the USA and we eat out nightly. We started with a shared plate of bistro sized oysters from Washington - small and sweet - up there with the Sydney rock oysters. The rillette of two salmons my wife paired with her asparagus salad was superb. My lamb shanks were the equal of any I have ever had and the wine recommended by the waiter, an 09 Martinelli Chardonnay from Russian River, was full flavoured and buttery - it could have been a Puligny. The balance of the menu was pure France except for the exceptional American produce that formed the basis of the dishes. The servings were a sensible size and the service, for a busy restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Dining at its BestHaving missed an earlier reservation in Yountville, we were fortunate to snag an Open Table reservation for late night dinner at Bouchon Bistro. We were seated immediately upon arrival by pleasing staff. Our waitress came right up and welcomed us, explaining the printed menu and explaining the chefs specials. Our party had a combination of seafood, gnocchi, and steak. The Boudin Blanc was extremely lean and flavorful, perched upon some of the tastiest mashed potatoes that come to mind. A long day in San Francisco kept us from dessert. However, several couples came into the restaurant just for dessert and coffee, and it really looked delicious.
So fortunate to have taken in this Keller Group Restaurant, it was our best dinner in Yountville5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNever let down!My husband and I always make it a point to dine here when we are in the Napa area. The food it excellent and service is great. Never been disappointed.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place when visit napa valley!Choose a local wine, ask your preferred food and have a good moment with your love or friends. This place allows it.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMCould be betterNot a good cost for value. Good food, but too expensive4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely birthday lunch! My husband and I went to Bouchon for my birthday lunch. It was excellent food and service. The restaurant does tend to get loud (music + patrons) but the service and food make up for it for the most part.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBouchon LIves Up to FameThe food was perfect. This Thomas Keller restaurant is incredible. We had veal and brine chicken for our main course. Qual on French Laundry garden greens for app then the brownie special for dessert. Our reservation was at 7:45 on a Monday. It was packed when we arrived but only half full as we left. I would recommend a 8 or later reservation.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMReminds me of home in ParisReminds me of home in Paris. Fresh bread from bakery next door outstanding. Foie de veau perfectly cooked. Actually had wines from Palette (Chateau Simone), the smallest AOC in France, and Chateau Daumas Gassac, a well-known craft wine from Languedoc Roussillon that I feel punches way above its weight -- i.e. excellent value for money. Already planning another trip.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFood fabulous, service fromFood fabulous, service from Robin and the staff exemplary!
A well run restaurant.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a Thomas Keller RestaurantIf that doesn't seal the deal, I'm not sure anything will. Located just a few blocks from French Laundry in Yountville, Bouchon executes French bistro fare to perfection. I have enjoyed both the lunch and dinner menu. For lunch start with a selection of delicious oysters then move on to a delicious sandwich or quiche of the day or for go with the classic steak frites. For dinner, the roast chicken is beyond words (just get it). If you go for lunch, be sure to stop by the Bouchon bakery next store and get yourselves some bouchons for the trip home.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a party of 8 and arrivedWe had a party of 8 and arrived a bit early, and the team at Bouchon didn't blink an eye, they stepped right up and sat us at our table right away. The maitre D was funny, and the server VERY good.
Overall we loved our meal, had a GREAT time with our visitors from Florida and left full and happy!
We would love to go back.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything except the soundEverything except the sound level was excellent.
The restaurant needs a lower acoustic level because you are so busy.
The service was excellent.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMelegant french experiencevery fancy french room with perfect waitstaff. So many wonderful items on the menu that it was hard to make a decision when it was time to order! Charcuterie spread to split is a great starter. The gnocchi was rich and delicious. The bread and butter alone are world class!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, fun experience in napaGreat, fun experience in napa valley. Wonderful food, wine, and fun. The restaurant was a bit louder than I would have preferred, but it had a very nice energy.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Great food and service. Wonderful list of daily specials which were unique in addition to the large variety of food on the menu. My husband had the trout special and it was by far the best fish we have tasted ever! But i wouldn't expect anything less from a Thomas Keller restaurant. We Would definitely come back again during our next stay in yountville. I highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions or even just a nice simple niight out!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is phenomenal. We hadFood is phenomenal. We had lunch there. We shared a quiche which was fluffy and delicious. I had steak and frites which is the best I have has in a long time. My wife had the sole which was delicate and very tasty. The deserts - lemon tart and creme brulee - were out of this world.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe eagerly awaited our reservationWe eagerly awaited our reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday and were not disappointed. This bistro inspired restaurant served carefully crafted food with style and flair.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have eaten at Bouchon aWe have eaten at Bouchon a number of times over the years and we are never disappointed. The menus are always varied with great selections. It is not a place for a quite romantic dinner as the noise level Is definitely "energetic", but it always a great dining experience. Outstanding Tartine Sandwich and delicious fries.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is excellent, we hadFood is excellent, we had the bone marrow and mussels, they were amazing. Difficult to get a reservation at this popular restaurant in Yountsville, recommend making reservations in advance.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything is impeccable atEverything is impeccable at Bouchon. Should anything fail to meet their standards, it is dealt with quickly and without fuss. We had a NY strip steak that had quite a bit that was inedible. It was removed from our bill without our asking. Other than that, every dish we ordered represented the height of ability. It's one of our absolute favorites.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual Bouchon never changesAs usual Bouchon never changes in terms of quality of dining experience. Every attention to detail is made. If you have special requests in your OpenTable reservation they read it and adapt quickly. From the minute you walk in the door you feel welcome, special and that they are there to ensure a wonderful dining experience. Nothing is ever too much trouble! Thank you!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding and staffFood was outstanding and staff was friendly. Service was on the slow side, but we didn't mind so much enjoying our partys' company. Would definitely eat there again.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is not another restaurantThere is not another restaurant that can compare to Bouchon's service and food. I wish we lived closer to Yountville so we could enjoy this restaurant at least once a week.
Keep up the great friendly customer service.
Lois4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMperfectProbably one of the best restaurants in the country, period.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, lacking atmosphere. The host was very abrupt when we entered the restaurant. However they have excellent food, good service but slow bringing out the entre. Expect to spend at least 90 minutes for lunch here and spend $100+ for two. The tables are "extremely close together". It feels like you are sitting at the same table with the others next to you, so this is not a place for a intimate conversation. Very tourist heavy with some folks being louder than others, which is expected in wine country I suppose.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHubby enjoyed calves liverHubby enjoyed calves liver and onions, I enjoyed my petrale sole w/pickled fennel. My haricot verts side dish was good but were slightly overlooked and droopy. I prefer a slight crunch to my beans. Loved my profiteroles for dessert. Wish they had a rib-eye or lamb chop on the menu.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIts next door to their bakeryIts next door to their bakery so you can buy tarts and other dessert items for a low cost after your meal.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAn iconic restaurant thatAn iconic restaurant that doesn't disappoint.
Fine food, good wine, conscientious staff.
Surprisingly small space, but a great meal makes tight quarters irrelevant.
A memorable night in Yountville.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved BuchonWe loved Bouchon from greeting to dessert. We had simple, perfectly prepared food with complex flavors. The trout with haricots verts and almonds was the very best version of that dish - buttery, cooked to the exact 'done' moment, fresh and beautiful. The chocolate mousse with salt caramel core was absolutely wonderful. And the staff was attentive and completely informed of gluten free needs.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were perfect! My only complaint is that we were seated next to a family with very loud children that were not being controlled.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful as always! A greatWonderful as always! A great place for excellent French food, not cheap but very good.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent fish! Fresh, beautifullyExcellent fish! Fresh, beautifully prepared and presented.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was wonderful. I appreciatedFood was wonderful. I appreciated the creative efforts of the chef, which mostly worked well. Some of the dishes were a little heavy- onion rings fried in doughnut dough is an example- and some lacked spice. I was annoyed by the pace of the service (too fast!) and the fact that the tables were double-booked fairly close together. Not so classy3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We were very disappointed in the wine list by the glass. The list is not on par with the quality of the food and the wine glasses were small and generic.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was the first day thatIt was the first day that they opened for brunch. We had the pastry assortment. Each and every one was delicious (croissant, pecan&cinnamon bun, blueberry scone, muffin). My fiance had the chicken and waffles. Juicy chicken with a crispy crust served with chives waffle. I had a simple herb omelette. It was soft and buttery. It was easy to make the reservation and we got to bypass the long pastry shop line, but yet still get delicious pastries!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall an very good evening.Overall an very good evening. Breads and spreads were outstanding. Duck and lobster salad was outstanding. My Sole dish off of the menu was outstanding as well. Unfortunately, the mussels were overcooked and mushy. The sauce in which they were cooked was excellent as well but the mushy mussels were were a major disappointment - So much so that we left about half of them uneaten. We live on the East Coast and there's not much of an opportunity to return the near future. However, due to the fact that there are so many excellent restaurants in the area, it would not be our first choice. Too bad, it was my first experience at one of Keller's restaurants.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Wine Country LunchIt would be hard to imagine a better spot for lunch in wine country. On a sunny day, the beautiful dining room lights up and the vibrant food shines. Our service was extremely professional, but not as formal as during dinner service. Our fellow diners included families, business types and a lots of wine tourists, so there was a lot of energy in the room. That said, our server never hurried us as we moved through three courses at a leisurely pace. The Sea Breem appetizer was unique, flavorful and beautiful. The classically prepared sole entree was wonderful, as the impressive Foie de Veaux, which was served as a steak, topped with a tower of onion rings.
The lemon tart dessert was rich and tangy, perfect with a delicious post-meal coffee.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMService was impeccable, wineService was impeccable, wine was really nice and well served. Tables are somewhat crowded, that may bother some folks. The suggestions of our wait staff were so good we just put our selves in their hands. Soup was butternut squash with fennel,
pretty tasty, light on the fennel. My asparagus dish was off the chart. I was not to sure, but the waitress was very positive. Glad I listened to her. The whole lunch was a treat from start to finish. I am not a "foodie" but would be dining there again when I am in the area. We also toured the garden and that was a treat.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a fantastic dinner,We enjoyed a fantastic dinner, the only downside was our server, but the manager picked in areas where she was lacking. Great birthday dinner.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
