Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace.
Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. I believe you’ll taste the difference and see how well they work together.
We believe Santa Barbara is producing some of the finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Other locally produced varietals will surprise you with their quality, variety and approachability. Please ask your server for recommendations on how any of our 40+ wines by the glass match up with your selections. Bon Appètit!

    In one word, AMAZING ! Living in the Napa Valley We are accustomed to some truly wonderful dining venues. Although already familiar with Bouchons brilliant reputation for exquisite tastes and seamless service, my girlfriend and I were utterly impressed with the fine details that went into making our anniversary dinner an experience that will not soon be forgotten. From beginning to end the service was friendly, attentive, and beyond knowledgable and engaging. They paired the perfect wines for each course. Not to be missed is their seasonal scallop dish. My girlfriend is a sucker for Duck confit and they knocked it out of the park. We will without a doubt be returning on our next trip to Santa Barbara

    We went to Bouchon to celebrate our daughter's 23rd birthday. Although we'd lived in Santa Barbara over 30 years, we'd never been to Bouchon. I mentioned my daugher's birthday when I made the reservation via Open Table. When we arrived, Bouchon had reserved a beautiful table in the enclosed patio space and adorned the table with red rose pedals in honor of her birthday. Our server was exceptional; gracious and welcoming, he had an excellent knowledge of the wine menu and helped us choose great wines and entrees. When it was time to serve dessert, the wait staff arrived with an extra birthday dessert, candle and all. The ambiance of the restaurant is just lovely. Will definitely return!

    We had such an overwhelming time here, that I couldn't say enough. Suffice it to say, if you enjoy fine dining, a substantial wine list, quality wait staff, knowledgeable servers, and a very talented and accomplished chef, you probably should come here.

    Had a three course meal that was amazing! First course was a Scallops Trio, prepared three ways as the name implies. Was originally going to order the seabass as a second course but the waiter recommended fresh caught black cod that was literally in the ocean 24-hours prior. It also came with a risotto mixed with Spanish chorizo that was to die for. Finally, we had a duck confit that just melted in our mouths. Everything was delicious and they suggested perfect wine pairings for each dish. The owner even bought us a glass because we were having so much fun enjoying the food and great service. Definitely recommend to anyone; just be prepared to spend some money. Trust me, it's well worth it!

    Visiting Sta Barbara, my wife and I wanted a local find for dinner. Bouchon came highly recommended. I like a cocktail before dinner, so I was disappointed to find that this is a wine only spot. But the conceit of focusing on wine pairings, esp local vintages works. But Joaquin made our meal. His passion for food and their wines informed our meal. He served me one of the best pinots I've ever had. We will be back in the winter, and we look forward to another evening with Joaquin at Bouchon.

    SB has many great restaurants, but Bouchon stands out. The quality of ingredients and service is excellent. Local wine was excellent. The salad of baby greens, marcona almonds, and local figs was excellent. Scallops served 3 ways (ceviche style and seared with different sauces). For the main course, I had the local sea bass on top of saffron end rice (similar to paella) accompanied with 3 plump clams and asparagus. My friend had the duck (breast medium rare and leg confit). The service was excellent. Water glass filled when 3/4 full, dishes cleared when finished, and waiter very knowledgeable about the wines and food.

    The service was top notch, Kevin and team were on it! The wine list was impressive! I loved my crab cake appetizer, so delicious! It was difficult to choose and I almost went with the scallops but I will return and try them next time! I had the Sea Bass entree which was very good and hubs had the rack of lamb which was excellent! The presentation was perfect! The rose petals sprinkled on the table were a nice touch for our special night out! We enjoyed the creme brûlée for desert, yum! My only regret is not visiting Bouchon sooner! We'll be back!!

    Seared Albacore Tuna and the duck were good. Staff was very good over all we had a good time. We sat next to the open kitchen, I felt hot so I got up an step out side to get fresh air.

    As Bouchon is less that fifty yards from the New Vic, it seemed a perfect choice for pre theatre dining and it was. Excellent from the moment one enters and is seated, the service is attentive but not overwhelming. The menu is large enough to offer varied choices but small enough that the chef and cooks can excel at everything on it. Wonderful, unhurried dining experience.

    When we arrived, we were greeted by warm friendly smiles, and that warmth and friendliness extended through every course and our entire evening. Mitchell clearly cares about the details of every diner`s experience, starting with service. The staff knows the details of their menu and wine list. The chef created edible art, and the overall take-away is one you will want to repeat as often as you can. Bravo Bouchon!

    A lovely restaurant in the center of Santa Barbara's busy main street. Wine list is very extensive but the waiter knew the cellar and would have you taste his suggestion before pouring a full glass. My husband started with the incredible french onion soup while I had their fantastic gorgonzola and arugula pecan tart--then we shared the awesome crab cakes and scallop special. It was truly a lovely meal and evening.

    Couldn't get a reservation at French Laundry in Napa but eating at Bouchon in Santa Barbara was a great alternative. The food is delicious and the wine paired with the meal was exquisite. Dining and drinking locally sourced items is wonderful.

    This is ONE popular place and were turning people away until late hours when we arrived at 8pm;we were seated ON TIME and asked if we would like a quieter table around the corner; we took it AND as attentive service as if in the fray; that says a WHOLE lot for a popular, yet professional restaurant! Our server a WEALTH of knowledge on wines and the menu, and did not seem the least bit overwhelmed, asking us to taste other than suggested pairings (his suggestion was better); and what a selection of local wines, best we had all week while visiting Santa Barbara;while we were told heirloom tomatoes were peak (hard to fathom as a New Yorker..); an inventive "scallops three ways"main as was Black Cod! So lucky to have visited; we will again!GO!

    We celebrated my son's 16th birthday with amazing food, wonderful wine suggestions and engaging conversation with Chef Greg Murphy. Our server made great recommendations and clearly knew his food and wine pairings. The dishes were presented beautifully - and the ingredients were market fresh. I was dazzled with the chef's vegetarian choice and all other guests equally enjoyed their main dishes. We shared three first courses and delighted in a few of the tasty dessert treats. The best review is my daughter is planning her 20th birthday dinner at Bouchon. :-) Bouchon continues to be an exceptional dining experience and should be commended. Thanks Bouchon Team!

    From the moment we arrived until we left we enjoyed our total experience at Bouchon. Our waiter, Abe, was attentive but in a non-intrusive manner. The food was outstanding. From the fig salad to the rack of lamb to the lime tart the flavors delighted the palette and the quality was outstanding. We also loved the fact that you showcase local wines.     I would like to mention that I have dinned at Bouchon numerous times. The French onion soup is always perfect and a constant item on their dynamic seasonal menu. I would recommend you not make late evening reservations as the quality seems to be lower later at night when the chefs are preparing to end their night.

    The duck itself was well prepared, but I found the sauce to be a big disappointment - very different than what I expected both from the write up on the menu and the waiter's description. Similarly, I didn't like sauce on the vegetables. Overall, I was unhappy with my dinner. My wife loved the chicken.

    Bouchon is a unique restaurant with a farm to table concept. We enjoyed everything we ordered. It is all fresh and the perfect blends. While the items were gourmet, they were not heavy and we had room for dessert. We ordered the heirloom tomatoes, mushroom ragout, venison, flat iron steak, the blueberry/lemon and date/blood orange/almond desserts. While we aren't wine drinkers, they have a nice pairing of wines with the menu. They also have a nice selection of beer.

    The chefs deserve medals. Never thought I'd be impressed by succotash. The mushroom ragout was a freakin' carnival of umami and general richness. You will not leave room for dessert, but you'll eat it anyway. If you have money to spend, spend it here.

    A Monday night dinner but the restaurant very well patronised. terrific service - efficient knowledgeable, especially re wines. Food excellent. I thought the Char Grilled Rack of Lamb a superb dish, cooked to perfection. My wife likewise thoroughly enjoyed the Wild Pacific Salmon.

    We liked being able to order half glasses of wine at the same price point as a bottle. Food presentation was very nice. Service was decent. But, we did not like that substitutions were not allowed (we were "welcome to leave off" rather than substitute....really? at those prices, the chefs aren't able to flex in the least?), and did not like that our food was luke warm. We expected more from this restaurant for the price and reviews. We weren't wow'ed enough to return.

    The only possible complaint was that the chicken was a bit dry and you'd expect it to be cooked perfectly for the caliber of restaurant. Otherwise the food was superb, the service was top notch, and the ambiance was very nice.

    Upon arrival, our perfect table with rose petals and peduncle were in place with an eager, attentive staff awaiting me and my girlfriens's first visit to Bouchon. The service was prompt and systematically punctual, providing us with a symphony of servers, bussers, and sommelier staff cascading about us like some beautifully tuned clockwork. From the beginning bread basket to the final sips of white wine, each portion of this fantastically contrived cuisine was memorable, leaving a lasting impression upon our lips that won't soon fade. Firstly, wowed by the fabled four-onion French Soup, I then progressed to an even more noteworthy dish of roasted duck thigh and beast... Simply put....DELICIOUS! We will definitely be returning soon!

    Open table made the reservation so easy. They even read my note about being our anniversary and put rose pedals on our table and gave us a smalle fruit desert that was the cherry on top. Originally thought it was expensive but what you get for the money is well worth it. The food is the highest quality and so is the staff. You get a lot of food compared to other high end restaurants that give you less for more money. Overall an amazing restaurant.
