  • "We had a fabulous dinner at Bouchard, the wait between courses was a bit long and the restaurant was not full until we left but the food was outstanding. We had Lobster Bisque and Scallop Ravioli to start both were very good. My husband enjoyed the re-stuffed lobster and the pork tenderloin was the the best pork dish I'd ever had it is beyond amazing. At the end of the meal the owners kindly sent over a glass of champagne to us for our anniversary which was very kind and totally unexpected. If you appreciate layers of flavor, this is a must do when in Newport."

  • "They held a table for me on a busy night well beyond when most places would say "sorry" (nit meaning it). My luggage did not make it with me, and my dinner companion got lost. We we greeted with friendly faces and warm demeamors. There was nor rush th "usher us through dinner" as quickly as possible. Menu very complete, great wine lish, and our "waiter" was professional, personal, entertaining, and served with excellence without ever once approaching the table "just checking". And he was that way with all of his patron. If not THE best dining experience ever, definitely top 3."

  • "Ever since Le Petit Auberge closed in Newport I've been looking for a replacement, this is it. I should also mention that I brought my three young boys who are all under age 10 and was very concerned about how I would be received. Those concerns were quickly resolved as the wait staff could not have been nicer nor more understanding. Anything that you may have read about snobbery I did not encounter whatsoever and the food is classic French fare done to perfection."

  • "I read the online reviews and came expecting Bouchard to be overpriced and overhyped. Instead I was pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant delivered on the promises in the reviews. It is French but without the pretention that we sometimes find in French restaurants in the U.S. The food was outstanding. Our selections were monkfish with a Pernod touched sauce and a veal chop Oscar. Both dishes were well balanced, seasoned perfectly, and prepared with superb ingredients. Maxime, our waiter, helped get the wine right after listening to our tastes and learning from out drink orders. In general the whole wait staff exhibited Maxime's attention to detail and focus on our needs. Bouchard is moderately expensive, but worth it."

  • "Our first visit. Perhaps the finest restaurant in Newport, and we have been to many quality restaurants in that city. Excellent food and service. The food was a little pricey but well worth it. The delicious appetizers, our wonderfully prepared and very tasty entrees as well as the mouth watering house special dessert made our evening a very memorable experience. Also, Max and the young woman with a slight accent were both terrific in making our anniversary dinner very special. They never felt rushed and engaged very nicely with us in conversation. We'll definitely go back, and we certainly will not wait until our next anniversary!"

  • "We decided to dine at Bouchard after rave reviews from our kids. It more than lived up to all of them. The restaurant is lovely and wait staff are formally dressed. Rolls, hot from the oven, served with butter with sprinkles of crystallized finishing salt set the stage. The seared foie gras was melt in your mouth superb. The menu choices are extensive and there were several great-sounding specials. We both had the Dover Sole as there are few places where one can get real Dover sole--delicious, beautiful presentation. The white Burgundy wine, suggested by our excellent waiter, Dan was the perfect pairing for the fish. We ordered the Grand Marnier soufflé for dessert--so light and delicious. What a great meal. Can't wait to return."

  • "We went for our anniversary dinner and it was the best choice ever made. Everything from start to finish was a work of art that tasted even better than the presentation. Our waiter was impeccable. When he suggested the soufflé, we were a little wary since I am not a fan of dessert. It was a celebration, so why not? Biting into this delicacy was a unique experience in itself. My mouth still water thinking about it. The chef is indeed a Master saucier, every sauce that came from the kitchen was worth licking the bowl. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a unique, delicious and sophisiticated experience."

  • "Went to Bouchard's this past Saturday with my husband, our son and his fiancé. Were able to luckily change our reservation for 2 to 4 at last minute. The food is beyond incredible. Starting with the appetizers, which are perfect sized portions. Not enough to fill you, but leaving you with an urge for more. We had a variety at the table, escargot, lobster puff, tuna and pate. Everyone cleaned their plate. Dinner was equally as incredible. Again, perfect size portions - and everything on the plates was eaten. Wine list was up there with some of the best restaurants we've been to. The soufflé should not be missed."

  • "Our experience at the Bouchard Inn could not have been any better. Food was spectacular, service was amazing and everything was just perfect. We had a group of 6 and were there celebrating my husband's graduation from grad school. I ordered the fillet with shallot sauce, my husband ordered the stuffed lobster and others in my table ordered the salmon, pork and duck. Portions were generous and we all finished every bite. For dessert we had the soufflé which was light, delicious and a perfect way to finish our night. For appetizers we had the tuna tartar, pate and lobster puff pastry. I have nothing to complain about and will definitely be back for a special occasion."

  • "This restaurant is a Gourmet Delight, and not to be missed, when visiting in the Newport area. Had a perfect Saturday evening here with my husband on June 7th. I had the escargot, and stuffed lobster, which were both prepared perfectly. My husband enjoyed the shrimp served with a variety of sauces, and the Cod. Desert was the house special soufle, and cake. House speciality mojito and vodka drink as well as a half bottle of champagne, complimented our meal. The entire meal from warm delicious dinner rolls thru desert were expertly prepared and served. This restaurant is a true gem, not to be missed. Prices are extremely moderate for such a Fine Establishment."

  • "If you want a restaurant along Thames Street that is more upscale and formal here's your place. So pretty inside, rather French. Nice to see gentlemen in jackets. Although not required this place deserves a little more of a dress up than local wharf restaurants. Food was wonderful and so was the service. The only hiccup was the service was slow but who wants to hurry out of such a nice place. "

  • "I have dined at Bouchards numerous times but had a very disappointing experience this time. We ordered our dinner by 8 PM and got the appetizers, which were great. The dinner did not come out for at least 45 minutes after this. The waiter never came by to let us know what was happening. I got his attention and he said he would check and told us it would be soon. He never apologized--and the kicker was that the duck was overcooked when it finally arrived. He didn't check with us to see how things were until halfway through the entrée. He did remove the price of the duck but it was such a disappointing experience and even worse--it was my birthday dinner! "

  • "Meticulous service and divine food. Everything is made to order so expect a nice, relaxed dinner. The chef was able to accommodate that I can't eat gluten, mushrooms, and truffles and made a special sauce for the meal I wanted. Fabulous experience! "
