  • "I've eaten here multiple times and love the food - especially the bacon burger & the lobster po'boy. However, went with the quinoa salad and added chicken. All I really tasted were the peas - not a lot of other flavor. And the pieces of chicken that were added were so tiny I couldn't even tell they were in there. I still love this place, but I probably wouldn't order that salad again - at least as a lunch entree. I wanted to eat healthy, so it was a great option, but would've like less peas, bigger pieces of grilled chicken, and maybe a little vinaigrette on the side as the salad was dry."

  • "Our group of six had a great time. However, if you are not a foodie, this place may not be for you. Food is beautifully presented, but not exactly main stream. So just plan accordingly. Wait staff was fabulous and the chef brought several of our dishes to the table. Wine list was very good."

  • "We came on a Friday evening early (5:30). Somewhat noisy, but not awful. It took quite awhile for the waiter to show, although when he did he was fine. Took quite awhile for the drinks to show, and for the appetizers to arrive. We ordered the tots and the tuna crudo as appetizers. Tots were mediocre, crudo was good but way over-priced. Ordered Kale Caesar, which was unusual and interesting, but, lets face it, its still kale. The main courses, the Octopus and the Pork Belly, were fantastic. They were the highlight, by far. In summary, we will not go back. Service was too disinterested, drinks and wine were small and extremely over-priced. Although the entrees were excellent, not enough to tip the balance."

  • "Really enjoyed our meal at Bottlefork-- We started with fried squash blossoms stuffed with burrata and plated in a tomato sauce. They were perfectly cooked and the crisp batter on the blossoms was a beautiful counterpoint to the melty salty cheese. The tomato sauce had just the right amount of tartness and flavor to round out the dish. The Amish chicken was cooked to perfection. Crisp skin, moist and tasty inside and the sauce served on the side really "made" the dish. It was over the top good. So were the "Tots".. The texture was a cross between risotto and polenta--really hearty and good--with a cheese sauce on top. I could have eaten these as an entree! Great wine list--even by the glass. We'll be back."

Several brought out food & made recommendations or just stopped by to make sure all was well. Everything had a unique twist. The salmon won out as the fan fav at our table & the biscuit & berry dessert was amazing!"

  • "I came for my friend's birthday, our server was wonderful. Our waitress was amazing, and really all of the staff made it a great night. The food was to die for. We got the tots, poutaine, and the Mediterranean salad as well as some entrees. Delicious! The sweet and salty sundae was mind-blowing."

  • "This place never ceases to amaze me with their wonderful food, friendly attentive service, and unique drinks. I have dined here many times and have yet to eat something I did not like. Anyone I have brought with me to dine here has loved it. Their specials are built off their morning trips to the farmers market, their inventive imagination spawning from their fresh herbs being grown outside, and whatever is in season. This particular night I had an amazing dish consisting of squash blossoms bought that morning from the green city market stuffed with goat cheese and laying in a delicious heirloom tomato ragu with spicy oregano picked form their garden. Must try itmes are their lamb ribs, gnocchi, rich man's po' boy, and med salad."

  • "I went with my boyfriend for dinner around 10pm. They seated us quickly, and our server was very nice. But we ordered drinks and I had to reorder because they didn't have the drink I ordered - they had just run out of their in house root beer syrup. Then we order the lamb ribs and our server had to come back yet again to tell us they just ran out. We ordered beef poutine instead but it was too heavy and so we didn't prefer it. Was a bit disappointed. We also ordered gnocchi and got the yelp free bag of chips as well! The gnocchi was delicious and I would recommend this place because the drinks and food were good quality - although they were not what we were craving. If you go in - just don't make reservations too late in the evening!"

  • "The owners and staff have to be proud of what they have accomplished here. It's the atmosphere you want when you experience fine dinning! The food is off the charts and different from anywhere else in the city. The staff is very knowledgeable on what they are serving and can make great pairing recommendations. The most important thing is that the head Chef, Kevin Hickey, makes sure that every plate served is top notch before the food goes out! That is why Bottlefork is making it's way to the top of the food chain! Thank you for a great night out with friends!"

  • "Important to set the stage; 7:30 Friday night on beautiful [almost] summer evening--service was good, food was good, but like other reviews noted, entrees were not piping hot, when served. The meat/cheese plate was tasty, but I would prefer more meat/cheese selections, instead of unlimited bread, which was delicious, but not good for the waistline. My second glass of wine was a half pour, compared to the first; they seemed to want to free up the table, which admittedly was one of the best in the house, but I was entertaining my sister, from Iowa and did not appreciate the rush to vacate, which is not uncommon & unwelcome in most restaurants in Chicago. When paying a premium price to eat, you should be given some time to digest it."

  • "I was expecting so much out of this place. We ordered Kale Caesar Salad, Mediterranean Salad, Gnocchi, Halibut, Pasta, Pumpkin Stew, and a side of fries. Every dish was way too rich and/or salty. The service was just mediocre. We over-ordered for a party of 4, especially given that there was not a single dish that any of us wanted to finish, and no indication from the server that it was too much. I eat anything and everything, and I couldn't get past a single bite of any of the dishes. When the dessert menu came around, someone in my group made a joke about how it would likely be smothered in gravy, so no thanks, we'll pass. And finally, the piece de resistance: the bill. As has been stated before, way overpriced for what it was."

  • "Girls weekend in Chicago resulted in reservations here and we were not disappointed. Our server helped us choose suitable items for sharing. Food was fantastic - skirt steak was AMAZING! Great ambiance - although VERY noisy....we didn't mind but some may. Would definitely return :) Very cool open bar next door where we happened upon the opportunity to cheer the Blackhawks game 6 win along with the locals - great atmosphere!"

  • "I was informed a party of two had a 1.5hr limit at a table upon confirming my reservation. We arrived & waited @ the bar for our table to open. We ordered the fois gras & chicken liver mousse (it was too smokey), sweetbreads (were solid), rich man Po' boy (tasty but better if not a cold sandwich) & wild Alaskan halibut (over Cooke, hard & cold). The sandwich and fish entree took over 45min after we received our appetizers and the server even came to clear off our plates at 40min & didn't even say word to update us. It was though she was avoiding us all together. We won't be back. "

  • "Took an out of town relative here for dinner and we both loved it. Great service, unique cocktails, and terrific food. The bag o' chips is fun and delicious and the roast chicken was awesome….the leftovers we brought home were even better the next day. Cheeses are a good option too. It's a small space and can feel claustraphoboic when the bar area fills up. But definitely a unique addition to the Chicago dining scene"

  • "I've been to this place three times in three weeks, so it's clearly a place i like. Potato chips with poached eggs, lamb ribs, pork flatbreads, popcorn sweetbreads....the menu is fun and it's great to introduce friends to this really tiny restaurant. Because it's a place to try new things, the check grows very quickly. I recommend going with a group of four or more, which gives you a chance to sample more items without accessing your home equity line. The service has been very good each time we've been there, which is a nice surprise. Many gastro-joints are too hip to worry about their customers, but Bottlefork gets points for consistently good service. "
