  • "Cute place right off the strand Jim has been coming here for years And keeps raving about this place We sat and ordered a glass of barbera and a chianti The barbera from Paso Robles Full of Noise the was very nice. Salad wise I had the Venetian salad and Jim had the casa salad Both quite good mine had a sundried tomato vinaigrette olives provolone tomatoes onions olive bread croutons really really good! Dinner I had the char broiled halibut with candied carrots creamed spinach and a side of past Agilo oilo. Wow was it good! Perfectly done very moist with a great charbroiled taste Jim had the bolenese which was also great better than mine (Still working the kinks out with the spices) what a great spot! We will be back "

  • "The food was good, especially the garlic bread but we felt that service was a little lacking. Our waitress was busy so whenever we wanted something we had to flag her down, even to tell her she had left the bottle of wine off our check. They definitely overcharge for the wine. It would be nice if they didn't charge so much for the corkage fee."

  • "I've lived in the neighborhood for years and finally tried it. The chicken polenta lasagna and chicken with vodka cream sauce were amazing! The staff and owner (Silvio) were fun and made you feel at home. Our server Mary Lou gave perfect suggestions to what we were craving. You could tell they knew many of the people sitting around me and my fiancé and made us feel welcome like that too. We so look forward to hopefully being one of those "regulars" soon as this will be a place I go as long as I'm in the South Bay...look forward to trying new dishes. It's also reasonably priced! Make sure you try the bread pudding too...so good!!!"

  • "We had out-of-town guests who are Italian, and love Italian food. They were in heaven. The menu is vast, which can be a little scary but all of our dishes were delicious. The building is a bit rustic, perhaps it could do with a decorating overhaul, but it felt homey and welcoming. The service was perfect; the wait staff was seasoned and attentive without being overbearing. All things considered, this is my favorite Italian restaurant, for the food, that I have been to."

  • "I took some clients to dinner all of us were surprised at both the place and the food they were great and the wine list/selection was incredible. We were seated in their wine cellar, this I recommend for a special occasion with your loved one."

  • "Bottle Inn looks small from the street, half a block from Hermosa beach, but is roomy inside. Italian wedding soup was good but had big pasta pieces instead of the traditional tiny pastina. Menu guarantees two meatballs in each cup, and also had chicken pieces. Not as good as Grandmas and not "traditional" by my Italian heritage, but pretty good tasting. Many pasta choices including lobster angel hair and chicken and three cheese ravioli. Both were excellent and there were several others I will try next time. Ample portions. Cappuccino was great. Service was slow. It was a Saturday night so perhaps understandable."

  • "The food is authentically fantastic. There is a more secluded private dining area in the "wine room". Great hidden area around the corner with room for about 4 or 5 people is a nice spot for a celebrity not wanting attention for the night."

  • "This was our first visit and the food and staff were wonderful. We arrived right as it was opening around 6:00 and by the time we left it was packed full so this is a popular place. It is small and has nice ambience... a little noisy but still very nice."

  • "We were sat in the cellar room which was romantic and quiet, perfect for our anniversary. They only serve beer and wine but the wine list is great. Service was great as well. Unfortunately we both ordered entrees with a lemony sauce, scampi and veal scaloppini. The sauce was extremely tart and disappointing. Sides of creamed spinach and rosemary potatoes were delicious as well as the garlic toast. We did not want to ruin the evening with sending back so we scraped off the sauce. Maybe the chef just added too much lemon that night?"

  • "Bottle Inn is one of my favorite go to places, whether date night or with the girlfriends. This time I was with my brother and surprisingly although we both grew up in the Beach Cities he had never heard of it! Shame on him. He doesn't live in the area any more but he loved the restaurant as much as I did and I think he'll back back there again. As will I."

  • "I had never eaten here although I live locally. The restaurant was much larger than it appeared from the outside and the food and ambiance were fantastic. Great choice!"

  • "I've been going to the Bottle Inn for more than 20 years, and it's as good as always. The food is very good, and they have an extensive wine list. Request a table in the wine cellar to escape the din of a busy restaurant. Since it is a wine cellar, it's cooler than the rest of the restaurant, so dress accordingly."

  • "I have been to the Bottle Inn numerous times before and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Unfortunately this time was different. We sat in a room with some very noisy people from a band and a family with young child at another table. The adults were far more unruly than the children. We could not really enjoy the conversation at our table. The waiter had to be reminded about a glass of Proseco that we ordered. The person who placed the order, immediately ordered a second glass because he was afraid he would have to wait a very long time to get a second glass if he waited until he finished his first glass.. We asked for more bread and never got it. We felt like we were generally forgotten. They didn't check on us to see how we were doing..."

  • "There was six of us in our group; four of us thought that the entrees were excellent and the other two thought their entrees were very good. We also shared three desserts, and while they were ok, we all agreed that we should have skipped dessert. Maybe time for the kitchen to revamp their dessert menu. Otherwise, a good night out at the bottle inn!"

  • "The Bottle Inn has been our favorite restaurant since before we were married (over 25 years). This is the first time we were able to dine in the wine cellar which was very romantic and away from the rest of the diners. The food, from appetizers to entrée, was excellent, and they surprised with a chocolate mousse dessert in celebration of our anniversary. Although we did not have any wine to drink they have one of the best wine cellars in the South Bay. We have been to The Bottle Inn for lunch as well with the same excellent experience. They have added a Sunday Brunch which we will have to try once summer arrives so that we can enjoy it in their outdoor patio area."

  • "The staff is the friendliest people I have ever met and seen in a resteraunt. They are attentive, and extremely nice. The food is always amazing. My kids love this place as well. It is hard to find a place where the whole family can enjoy and loves the food, but Bottle Inn does that. They make us feel like we are part of the family they have."

  • "Artichoke appetizer was excellent. Caesar salad was more than enough when split and we finished it all. All three entrees were very ample and each was delicious. Service was a trifle slow but the place was quite full even at 630P on a Wed. Our waitress was very enthusiastic and the Birthday mousse, with singing, was fun. We decided to give the place another try after a somewhat disappointing visit before. Glad we did. They redeemed themselves. We'll go back."

  • "We always enjoy this restaurant with its great food and friendly service. The noise level was louder than usual and service slower due to a large party there the same night, but it was still a very good experience."

  • "We "discovered" The Bottle Inn last summer even though we'd driven by it many times. The food is really wonderful and it is hard to find consistently good Italian food in our area. Being from MA, we're very picky. The service is personal and comfortable. the servers know wine and are very familiar with the menu. After our second visit, they knew our particular favorites. We took friends to brunch and were delighted. The view of the ocean and the great food make for a perfect combination."

  • "We decided to try the Bottle Inn for the first time Saturday night. We were pleasantly surprised as we didn't know what to expect. But the food was excellent, the service while a little slow was very good. Go early. We had a 6:30 pm reservation. It got busy after 7:00 pm. I would highly recommend the restaurant. We'll be going back."

  • "After 20 years we were amazed that the Bottle Inn is still fantastic! On a whim we thought we'd give it a try since we haven't been here in more that 20 years. I kind of expected to see dusty fixtures and dated decor but was surprised to see it looked good inside. It even seemed to be brighter in the dining area than I remembered. The food was amazing and I can still taste the amazing chocolate souffle. We'll be back!"

  • "We've heard so much about The Bottle Inn and couldn't wait to try it. Wow--talk about disappointing. We were seated immediately (with a reservation) and the food was pretty good, but the service was awful and really messed up the evening for us. Our waiter told us about the special and we ordered. Five minutes later we heard another server talking about the specials and it turned out there were *two*. We would have ordered the second one if we'd known about it. Also, they have souffle for dessert but you have to order with the entree to get it. well, we didn't see the dessert menu until after the meal and our server never mentioned it. He really ruined the night for us. We were so disappointed."

  • "Food is very good European style Italian. My only recommendation is to avoid when the back room is busy with a party. We got a table just by the door or the back room and my companion had to literally move out of the way every time somebody opened the door. Not very good when you are trying to enjoy your dinner. We then moved to another table but had a long wait for food to be served. Most likely due to the party going on. Or because they didn't liked that we ask for moving from the bad table. Still will recommend as a good place for dinner."

  • "Had a reservation and were seated immediately, drink and appetizers order taken in about 15 minutes from arrival. Dinner ordered 5 minutes later. We ordered Appy Calamari....never saw it. We ordered 4 mains .... never saw that either. Finally gave up and paid for the two beers and two glasses of wine and bailed after close to two hours...really? What showed so much promise only turned out to be a sad little place that values the celebrity glamour shots on their wall more than actual food and service. Mind you, we never did get a bite to eat, but still. Wanted so much to love or even like this place, however I can only advise to avoid at all costs (unless you are some LA hotshot...then they may actually feed you)."
