Botticelli'sGreat patio & live musicThis restaurant works for those that want to sit on a patio and enjoy live music(guitarist) and still want a good meal. Then they have an inside area that is quiet, quaint and good for couples, romantic, etc. Food was good but not our if this world. Excellent shrimp appetizer. Not nany traditional Italian items so if you are looking for that, this is not the place.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent after short waitWe were seated 25 minutes after our reservation time, but after that it was an excellent dining experience. Top notch service with helpful advice and a very fun dinner for the 5 of us.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMUnderratedBott's has been one of our favorite restaurants for years. The fish specials are consistently great. When offered, the venison gnocchi is out of this world. The filleto is comparable to the best steaks in town. The employees and the owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat EveningMy wife and I came here on a date and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious, the service was great, the pace of the meal was perfect. We'll be back again. The best Italian restaurant in Austin.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Austin's best.Botticelli's is a tiny Italian restaurant in South Austin. The indoor area holds about 40 people and the outdoor area in back about the same. The outdoor area usually has live music. The food is fresh and very well done. Try the spicy shrimp and polenta appetizer.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisiteWe visited Botticelli's at the recommendation of a friend. We had no expectations, but what appears to be a little dive off South Congress turns into a European style dining experience. The food is creative, delicious, and made with integrity. The service is outstanding, and if you want a great outdoor dining experience, head to the back porch. We sat inside and watched our food cook as the open kitchen concept wafted a compendium of scents that made me want to try everything on the menu. Great wine, local beer. Will definitely revisit.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat potentialWe came here to celebrate our anniversary. The service was really nice (hostess, bartender, and waitress). The restaurant itself is intimate, but WAY too noisy to be a romantic dining spot. There is nothing in there to absorb sound, so all the conversations jumble together into a cacophony. It's good for a night on the town with friends, but not necessarily for a date.
The food itself was mostly good. We decided to try a little something different for our salad and loved it! The lasagna of the day (beef & sausage), not so much. It tasted burned, and the flavors weren't as deep as I'd have hoped. The semifreddo for dessert was a delightful finish. Just a few tweaks here and there and this could be a fantastic little spot.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNice FindI was in Austin for a conference and took my group out for dinner. I used online services (Yelp and Urbanspoon) for recommendations/evaluations and Open Table for the reservation. Overall, my self and our group had an extremely pleasant evening. The food was well prepared and served in a timely manner. I will probably go back the next time that I am in Austin.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMEvening with friendsThey did a nice job! The hostess was friendly and sat us early. The atmosphere was nice and small, but not crowded. We ordered the scallop and shrimp app, and both were great choices. The entrees had great flavor. The butternut squash ravioli had a nice blend of squash and pasta, and halibut was cooked wonderfully. We brought our own wine and paid a corking fee. Only complaint would be the temperature of the room. Need a better AC during hot summer months, with an open kitchen, and windows facing West. Overall, a pleasant expierience.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time will RepeatMy wife and I made reservations for her birthday on a Friday. We arrived 10 minutes early and were greeted politely by the staff. They indicated a booth was freeing up and asked if we wanted to wait or be seated right away. We chose to wait for the booth. The atmosphere and location were very pleasing and created a cool easy-going environment. Shortly, we were notified our table was ready.
Our meal commenced with the steamed mussels and shrimp w/ polenta. The shrimp w/ polenta was excellent. We had a small issue w/ the mussels & the issue was resolved immediately by the managers with style. The lamb was superb and the the Cesar salad w/ shrimp was also good. For desert we had the chocolate moose and would go again for that alone.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DinnerGreat Happy Hour! Great wine! Meatballs were delicious!! Great service!! (My sister did not enjoy the pork - stick with red sauce dishes!)5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in a cool space.Great food in a cool space. The food was expensive. Luckily the portions were perfect, but I'm positive that some of the dishes shouldn't have costed that much.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and stellar serviceThis is truly a neighborhood gem. The food is terrific. The owners are really great guys and the wait staff is friendly and helpful. This has become my go-to place ho take friends and visitors for a really nice dining experience. I couldn't recommend it more.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good MealPlace was packed but the food and service was great and there was no rush to turn the table over. You can always count on Botticelli's for a great meal. On this visit we started with the mussels which where large and very flavorful followed by the Caesar salad and finished with the butternut squash raviolis and a side of the Italian sausage, if you never tried the sausage you should its spicy and very flavorful. The wine list though not extensive but it is very good, with selections that should satisfy anyone's desires and the staff is very knowledgeable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Good ServiceMy husband and I really enjoyed this place. We normally go to Enoteca (across the street) but Im glad we finally made it to this place. Food is amazing, service was really good! I will def go again!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Austin SpotWalked by this place so many times and finally got a reason to stop in for dinner. Great menu, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's probably hard to findIt's probably hard to find a "quiet" restaurant in the SoCo area, but the noise level was off the charts (all tables are more or less directly next to the bar so it's to be expected). Despite this, the food was excellent and the service was also solid (albeit a little slow -- again, it was busy). The wine list contained wines we'd never heard of -- all Italian. However, our knowledgeable server recommended a few and they were fantastic! A definite recommend BUT try to get a table outdoors (if possible). Inside is a little cramped and very loud.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMRecommended for overall experienceThis restaurant was a great experience. The waitstaff was very attentive. The food was enjoyable! I would go back again and maybe sit outside to people watch it's in a great location for that. Parking is an issue, allow lots of time to locate a space before reservation.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFun neighborhood placeFun place. Good food. Excellent service. Nice energy.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place to have a deliciousPerfect place to have a delicious meal in a fun and intimate setting. great seating outside and the staff could not be more pleasant and attentive. The outdoor beer-garden was a nice setting conducive to conversation.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOMG Bolognese con Gnocchi OMGSuch a great alternative to anything else on Congress avenue. Great ambiance with a quality of food that leaves you wanting seconds. Highly recommend the Bolognese con Gnocchi. Seriously order it. Make sure to get extra bread, you're going to need it.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ordered from the RestaurantWe ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, and each dish was delicious!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, service wasExcellent food, service was fair. Our watress never offered us a salad, or appetizer. We had to ask for a wine list. We also had to ask if any deserts were offered.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a beautiful springIt was a beautiful spring evening. We sat outside on the patio and had dinner. The house bread was great. Most of us couldn't resist the lasagna and we all enjoyed it. Apparently they have happy hour on Saturday and Sunday so there were many specials both on drinks and food.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time, celebratingWe had a great time, celebrating two friends' birthdays. Botticelli's is a wonderful restaurant venue - fabulous food, great atmosphere, and always a classy place to enjoy drinks and dinner. We highly recommend it to others!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great restaurant! TheWhat a great restaurant! The menu had me excited before we even got there. I was immediatly attracted to several choices and so would recommend looking it up ahead of time to make a decision (although, any choice is the right choice at Botticelli's!). Located at the midway point on South Congress makes parking and walking an enjoyable prelude to the venue, but don't think Botticelli's blends in... it stands out like a masterpiece statue.
But the food is the main attraction here. Everything was perfect 10 wonderful (even the scallops, which I don't care for normally). Each entre and its accompanied sides blend perfect together for the best food I've ever had.
Cheers!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBotticelli's - a treasure find. Our party of six really like the atmosphere and could enjoy conversation at the table. The appetizers and entrees were varied and tempting. The wine list was very nice, too. Our waiter provided excellent service. He was attentive and friendly. We will recommend this restaurant to our friends and return as often as we can.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother outstanding visitAnother outstanding visit to Boticelli's! You know it's good when your first time folks all exclaim "I'm coming back to this place". Those in the group that had the lasagna couldn't stop talking about the freshness and the favors.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFun Neighborhood RestaurantConsistently good food in a fun environment. Small but cozy.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll definitely be backWe had a fantastic night at Botticelli's. Food was great, and the menu was interesting and fun without being overly strange.
