Located in Yountville, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Bottega’s extensive wine list represents hard-to-find favorites of the Valley and interesting Italian selections. Chiarello restored the integrity of an old 1800’s estate by uncovering beautiful hard wood floors, timber beams, old brick walls and windows.   • "This was our first visit to Wine Country and we had no idea where to begin. A friend's daughter, who lives in the area recommended this place to us and to say we were blown away from the second we walked in is an understatement. Everything from the decor right down to the drinking goblets was superb. Our server(I wish I could remember his name) was amazing - his recommendations were dead on and his service was top notch. Having grown up in New York City, we are no strangers to fine dining, but this went beyond our expectations. I have to say that it's one of my top three ever! Don't miss it when you are in the area!"

  • "The food was great and being a former cook I tip my hats to the men and woman in the kitchen, two thumbs up there. But the waitstaff was far from friendly, a somewhat mild disinterest in our meal experience and the waiter was so skimpy he wouldnt even give us a free dessert on a birthday occassion. I mean come on its a really nice restaurant and we spent over 200 dollars, pretty pathetic in my opinon. I would not return simply because the waiter was average and did not make the experience one to remember, and when you are paying that kind of money it better be close to perfect. "

  • "This is consistently our favorite restaurant but this particular evening was a disappointment. It was a Monday evening after the first warm weekend in the Napa Valley. The greeter was less than enthusiastic, the service was slow and server performed as if he was doing us a favor. The food was not it's usually outstanding faire. Did not evening mention that we were celebrating an important day... We will be back, everyone is entitled to a bad day.... Perhaps Michael was not there and everyone was tired from the busy weekend."

  • "Lunch at Bottega was sublime. Seating was spacious and not crowded. The Ricotta Gnocchi literally "melts in your mouth" and the serving size was perfect. From the wine list we enjoyed a sarah from Michael's family's vineyard which had a wonderful peppery finish. I did not order dessert but was happily surprised with a birthday treat of chocolate and peanut butter squares which made me so happy I didn't. Everything on the menu sounded like we must return and try everything."

  • "Bottega has a great atmosphere, the different dining areas can cater to various individuals or groups. The service is still excellent, after 5 years of coming here, warm, friendly and informative. My husband could not stop thinking of his lobster risotto he ate 4 months ago, so we returned. I had the zucchini tiella ( zucchini, potatoes, bread crumbs, a delicious red sauce baked nice and crisp, nice and light , not like a heavy pasta lasagna.) 1 of 3 appetizers was Budino al Pecorino Fulvi, the warm cheese was delicious on wood fired crostini, they roasted the Broccoli rabe slightly spicy added with the cheese and Fava beans made for great tasting bruschetta. My kids also ordered their zeppole, light and tasty. We will be back."

  • "Great food. Knowledgeable and helpful waitstaff. Fantastic sommelier. Everything was perfect. I only regret that I did not try to stuff down some of the delicious looking desserts. The nice meal portions (not too big and not too small) left me happily sated. I had the Duck Confit, my wife had the Seafood Brodettto. Neither of us wanted to share. :) We did share the Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad as our starter which was both delicious and refreshing. The Sommelier recommended a reasonably price Italian wine that was quite tasty and I never would have found it on my own. I'll be back!"

The food was certainly very good, though we were expecting a bit more creativity in the flavors with all the hype. It is also very noisy in the restaurant and the tables are somewhat awkwardly long for two which forces you to raise your voice when the dining really gets going. Overall, a positive experience."

  • "My husband and I had been told Bottega was an amazing dinner restaurant so we had high expectations. We made reservations before hand, and were both looking forward to a nice romantic dinner. We were seated so close to two other couples that it was difficult to have a conversation. (The waitress had to pull the table out for me to even sit in the booth, and I'm a small person.) Unless you have a culinary background, the menu will be difficult to understand. So maybe look up what the items mean before you eat there. The service was great, and the food was alright- nothing too great. Maybe we had too high of expectations? But for an expensive meal, we were both disappointed."

  • "Service was good. Dinner was overpriced, ordered Lobster Cav....,,2 small pieces of lobster, with about 1 cup of pasta.., no soup, no salad. Price was $28, could have paid $10.00., get more for the money at Olive Garden. Dessert on the other hand was $10, chocolate donuts, small, but filled with hazelnut cream and honeysuckle dip., this was good. Asked for decaf coffee, got regular. Had a wonderful funny waiter."

  • "For the past three years, my best friend and I have made an annual trip to spend a weekend in Napa and dine at Bottega. The food is amazing; there are always new dishes to try and old staples to revisit. I practically inhale the whole plate of truffle fries every time I'm there. Everything is incredibly fresh and the flavors are indescribable. The service is excellent as well; plates and debris are swept away swiftly, water glasses glasses never reach empty, and everyone is just so warm and friendly."

  • "Had a great dinner Monday night with my husband. I enjoyed a wonderful cocktail. Roman Kiss. It was like sticking my nose into my herb garden while sipping on the most sublime gin tonic with a fresh sprig of Rosemary. He had his regular Maker's Mark Old Fashioned which was made perfectly. Antipasti was a pate of pig trotter and Monterey calamari. Entrees were rack of lamb and I had whole Barzani fish. Very delicate. Dessert was a Meyer Lemon tort which was very decadent. Bottega never disappoints. One always feels feted and special. The wait staff were attentive and very knowledgeable."

Service staff on Saturday seemed unfamiliar with the preparation details, had to check on alcohol brand availability several times and overall did not engage our table of 6 like in the past. Really hope this was just an unusual off-night."

  • "I have been to Bottega several times and every time the inconsistency surprises me. Sometimes its way too salty, other times its so bland it has no flavor. For small groups the atmosphere is fine, for large, private groups not so much. I even had to send one item back as too salty to enjoy , surprising for a celebrity chef's restaurant. The service for our large group was completely impersonal. It was served family style and some dishes were served and we were never even told what they were. This last visit with a small group, we felt so rushed we had to even ask the staff to slow down when describing what they were offering. They even rushed our wine selection. Guys its Napa. $100 per person for lunch you shouldn't be rushed, EVER."

The interior is very well done and although this is a large restaurant, it still feels very personal. Best of all, the noise level is reasonable given its size. The lamb chops were good, but not OMGs, I have died and gone to Valhalla. My wife had the short ribs, which were very tender, but not very flavorful. Pricing was within expectations given the overall experience. I would not go back."

  • "We are here the last night of our anniversary trip. It was a fantastic way to end our vacation. Everything from the bread to dessert was on point. Our server was the sweetest and took great care of us. We had the calamari - served with an squid ink sauce. We also had the brussel sprout salad- the marcona almonds and Meyer lemon vinaigrette make it! The entrees were superb. Dessert: my mouth was so happy! I'm so glad the waitress told us about it. The portion sizes were perfect. All around a beautiful night. The only complaint I have was the bottom of the tables. They are so big there isn't a good place to put your feet in high heels...all I wanted to do was cross my legs AND sit close to the table. haha"
