We had a wonderful breakfast/brunch experience at Bottega Del Vino. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We dined there with our 3.5 year old as well as our 1 year old. The cream filled croissant was the best.

We celebrated a birthday here and it was excellent. My second time there, his first, but i know we know we will come back for a third. hated that we were so rushed but were trying to make it to a show. The food is extraordinary! love the homemade short rib ravioli!!! we order a lot to share and it was probably too much but we still loved it. i like the prosciutto plate!

We went for lunch this week and had Dover Sole. It was absolutely delicious. The whole fish was filleted table side and served with a generous portion of perfectly cooked and very fresh mixed vegetables. Their home made gelato is pretty awesome too. Too bad they stop serving that later in the Fall and through the Winter.

Because this place is located nearby 5th Av, it is rather pricy. But given the quality of the service, the food and the impressive wine list it is not that bad after all. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to New York.

While the food was good and the wine excellent, there are hundreds of restaurants that are better for less. Unfortunately, that neighborhood lacks those kinds of restaurants, so if you have no flexibility, go to this touristy Italian place.

It's close to the 59E59 Theatre & they give members a discount but the menu is limited & rather pricey. I ordered the halibut, which was rather bland. It was served on a bed of greens & cherry tomatoes, also bland & the price was &40. My friend ordered the large shrimp, which came with their heads & tails. She had a difficult time in removing them. Would have liked to have been forwarned. Don't think we would go back.

Bottega is where you go when you want to impress the person you are dining with, but not shock them into a food/financial coma. Suits and ties all around and salads starting at $17. Not wholly unexpected for this area of NYC. I went for lunch, and it was very good. If anything, we were asked too often if everything was good by the wait staff. My party was one of the few at the time though, so I believe we just had more attention. Again, for two people eating soups, salads, and risotto and not drinking our tab came out to over $90. But it was some dang good risotto...

  • Great Italian in the Plaza district
    NYCDinerVIP
    Dined on 6/21/2014
This is a charming Italian restaurant in a great location across from The Plaza hotel and the Apple store. There is a more casual "bar" area in front with a small number of outdoor seats. They also have a gelato stand and sell delicious-looking Italian pastries to go. Behind all this is the more formal dining room, which is where we had dinner. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it, with soft lighting and a good mix of seating. The servers were very attentive and our food came out quickly. My companion and I split the burrata salad appetizer, and we both had a pasta dish and a glass of wine - everything was great and we really enjoyed it. Would definitely return.

I visited Botega Del Vino on two separate occasions - lunch and dinner. I was not impressed with the lunch food, but their pasta absolutely outstanding! We literally cleaned our plates! Wine list is also very impressive! What was disappointing is the service after we did not order second round of drinks and desert. It looked like server was not happy about us not bringing extra revenue and ignored our table for the rest of the night. It took us almost half an hour to receive the check. I want to mention that it was not too busy. So even food was excellent, service left sour taste. I would still recommend this restaurant for group dining or romantic special occasion dinner. Overall ambiance is very warm and welcoming.

The menu is quite appealing, but the food is not sensational as to justify Michelin star prices. Very pricey and service spotty. Portions are too small too. Only 5-star item in this place is the bread, which apparently is made on-site and is amazingly good. Other than that, the restaurant is very well located and has a funny vibrant tourist scene of tourists that come often to NY and go there all the time (almost like locals), which makes this palce special and fun to visit. Other than that, for these prices, I'd prefer to go to Harry Cipriani which is around the corner.

We travel quite a good bit and it's always nice to have a favorite haunt to duck into for dinner. Bottega is always on our short list for NYC. And it's also what we consider NYC comfort food. A steaming bowl of minestrone soup, bolognse, and tiramisu. And one of their great bottles of wine. An evening well spent. If you're feeling down because of the grayness of travel, let the servers impress you with their professionalism and style. It reminds you that there are still many in the world who believe in the perfection of their performance. Flawless.

Restaurants should not take reservations for 10:30 PM, if upon arrival (and we arrived early) you are going to be told that the kitchen closes in five minutes so we need to get your order in now. Food showed results of having been prepared too quickly, though underlying ingredients were quite good. Appetizers were better than entrees. Nice wine list, but the rushed service, even though polite, was just too much.
