Bottega del Vino (located in the former Playboy Club) is world-renowned for its selection of wines, with one of the largest wine cellars in New York. Bottega's attractive decor and chalet-style interior mimick our sister restaurant Antica Bottega del Vino located in Verona, Italy.

When dining at Bottega Del Vino, you will feel transported back in time to the origins of wine making and wine drinking. Join us for a fine dining experience and an award-winning wine list.

Our restaurant offers a casual dining area for breakfast and lunch, a wine bar with over 60 wines available by the glass, a formal dining room, and two private rooms: The Verona Room and The Wine Cellar, which are available to book for private lunch and dinner parties for 2-40 persons.

Diner Reviews
  • "This was my daughters 16th birthday celebration. The food was wonderful and they gave my daughter a complimentary dessert for the occasion."

  • "I have been to this restaurant 4 times and have never had a bad experience. I have also recommended it to a friend,"

  • "The food is consistently unbelievably D E L I C I O U S. Very old world cuisine served with a contemporary flair and just the right portions. One of my "must go to" notes to friends visiting Manhattan and looking for a cozy New York state of mind little place."

  • "It has been a couple of years since I went to this restaurant. I remember the food as being very good and so was disappointed when I had the homemade pasta with a lamb ragu and it was basically tasteless. Wont go back."

  • "Restaurants should not take reservations for 10:30 PM, if upon arrival (and we arrived early) you are going to be told that the kitchen closes in five minutes so we need to get your order in now. Food showed results of having been prepared too quickly, though underlying ingredients were quite good. Appetizers were better than entrees. Nice wine list, but the rushed service, even though polite, was just too much."

  • "Food at this Italian restaurant is very good (especially the Branzino) but it is overpriced. $24 for a glass of red wine is excessive."

  • "We went to Bottega del Vino on the recommendation of my parents. Great New York location, right at 5th ave and 59th. Beautiful decor and amazing food. good service but maybe slow at times, although our food came out fast even though it was 7 on saturday."

  • "Melt in your mouth spinach gnocchi with pecorino cream sauce and crispy pancetta was incredible! The wine is excellent (both in selection and taste) and the service was superb, attentive but not intrusive. Mediterranean Sea bass was prepared table side most professionally. Wonderful experience."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Incredible, authentic Italian foods, sweets and wine. Great for any time of day and consistently exceptional."

  • "My wife and I dined here for the first time. We were seated at a lovely table for 2 closer to the front of the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the remarkable wine list. If you are a lover of wine, this is the place for you. I had the Amarone, which was really not the best choice for the Dover Sole we had. The Dover Sole was exceptional (it was a special that day). The wait staff de-boned and cleaned the fish at the table which makes for a very nice presentation. We also had an eggplant appetizer and asparagus soup, both of which were prepared perfectly. The restaurant, while small facing the street, is actually quite large (typical for NY). Reservations are a good idea for this Michelin Notable restaurant."

  • "There are not that many good places in the area that serve breakfast and this place, while not fantastic, did not disappoint."
    Dined on 1/15/2014
  • "Having been there the week before I was amazed at the risotto with mushrooms and tortellini. We rerun we and anxious to have some friends try it, we were completely disappointed in the spaghetti con Congolese as well as the tortellini. The meal started with the buffatta which qas great"

  • "Very nice Italian restaurant, not really cheap but you get therefore great quality food! Something special! Can highly recommend this place! It was the 3rd time we've been there and no complains!"

  • "I had dined at this restaurant several times. I have always found the food to be very good and well presented. The service, always attentive and cultured. The wine, excellent. I will definitely keep returning."

  • "We enjoyed a year end staff lunch. The food was excellent and the waiter was very helpful. The service was a bit slow and the music was piped in a little too loud. But overall great meal."
    Dined on 12/19/2013
  • "Waiters simply ignore customers. They work to their own drummer, standing around and talking among themselves."
    Dined on 12/16/2013
  • "The food was very good but the service was horrible. My table was completely ignored and we even had to get up to grab the water pitcher since we had waited so long. It was obvious that the waiter was indeed ignoring us for a table who was ordering more wine than we did. I have never had a worse dining experience."

  • "A great place for romantic foodies. Excellent Staff and mouthwatering food. Worth the price."

  • "This is the most authentic Italian food in New York It's like being in Verona with la familia Bravo"
    Dined on 12/8/2013
  • "The service let us down. They did not check back with us after our main meal was served. We had problems with the main meal, but no one to talk to about it. When we were ready to pay bil, no allowance was made for our complaints. We usually love this place, but this time was a disappointment."
    Dined on 12/5/2013
  • "Food is OK, service is OK. Food is not cheap for what it is and the extensive wine list sports absurdly high prices - being difficult to find something decent below 3 digits. I would not go as far as classifying it as a tourist trap, but almost... I am definitively not coming back."
    Dined on 12/5/2013
  • "Service was not good………the food was pedestrian……………..this is a tourist eatery"
    Dined on 11/23/2013
  • "Our waiter from Romania & his assistant from Guatemala, along with other nationalities among the staff gave the evening an international flavor, although I did not hear Italian spoken. Also, while there was much variety on the Menu, very little was Italian. We did have an excellent Pinot Grigio."
    Dined on 11/22/2013
  • "This restaurant is truly special. Amazing wine list, wonderful Italian food, lovely atmosphere and terrific service. One of my favorite places to dine."
    Dined on 11/15/2013
  • "I took a very important client here for a quiet dinner. They did not have the first 3 wines he selected from the text book size wine list. Service was very poor with little to no attention paid to the table, my guest kept having to pour our wine which was very embarrassing. The entrees took a very long time to come out and the food was mediocre. We ordered the pasta with tartufo, spaghetti con vongole, buratta, and octopus none of which were memorable. I expected more from the restaurant given its prime location."
    Dined on 11/8/2013
  • "This is a lovely restaurant with superb food and wine. The atmosphere is elegant. I'm looking forward to going back."

  • "Wonderful brunch. From the cappuccinos to the peach tart, it was delicious."

  • "Sorry I filled this in for Quality steak instead of Bottega del vino. Please disregard that one from bloomers!!!!, Great for lunch. Food is well prepared and portions are good. Get's busy at lunch and hectic...reservations necessary. Great cappuccino ! Also good for breakfast, alone or business. Nothing cooked but plenty of choices and the coffee is divine"

  • "who ever had a fondue with truffles in a pumpkin? I did at Bottega Del Vino, and it was awesome. So was the mushroom risotto. I was bummed they did not have the squid ink and scallop risotto that I had last time, which was absolutely incredible. Service was super knowledgable in making recommendations and extremely fast. I love going here!"

  • "Food was pretty good. Ambiance was really nice. Service was awful."
    Dined on 10/16/2013
  • "The food and the location were good, but the service was really rather arrogant; we felt not at all welcome!"
    Dined on 10/9/2013
  • "I've been to this restaurant many times and I've always brought clients and friends from out-of-town here for lunch, because they are reliable. This time, however, the food was lousy. My tortellini was dry and overcooked. I had to ask for cheese, as the waiter did not even bother to ask. I would have complained about the food, but I was with a client and i did not want any distractions. Not going back any time, soon."
