Diner Reviews
  • "It's close to the 59E59 Theatre & they give members a discount but the menu is limited & rather pricey. I ordered the halibut, which was rather bland. It was served on a bed of greens & cherry tomatoes, also bland & the price was &40. My friend ordered the large shrimp, which came with their heads & tails. She had a difficult time in removing them. Would have liked to have been forwarned. Don't think we would go back."

  • "Bottega is where you go when you want to impress the person you are dining with, but not shock them into a food/financial coma. Suits and ties all around and salads starting at $17. Not wholly unexpected for this area of NYC. I went for lunch, and it was very good. If anything, we were asked too often if everything was good by the wait staff. My party was one of the few at the time though, so I believe we just had more attention. Again, for two people eating soups, salads, and risotto and not drinking our tab came out to over $90. But it was some dang good risotto..."

  • "Bottega is a great choice for breakfast in this busy area. The food is well prepared, and the atmosphere is very conducive to conversation."

  • "This is a charming Italian restaurant in a great location across from The Plaza hotel and the Apple store. There is a more casual "bar" area in front with a small number of outdoor seats. They also have a gelato stand and sell delicious-looking Italian pastries to go. Behind all this is the more formal dining room, which is where we had dinner. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it, with soft lighting and a good mix of seating. The servers were very attentive and our food came out quickly. My companion and I split the burrata salad appetizer, and we both had a pasta dish and a glass of wine - everything was great and we really enjoyed it. Would definitely return."

  • "I visited Botega Del Vino on two separate occasions - lunch and dinner. I was not impressed with the lunch food, but their pasta absolutely outstanding! We literally cleaned our plates! Wine list is also very impressive! What was disappointing is the service after we did not order second round of drinks and desert. It looked like server was not happy about us not bringing extra revenue and ignored our table for the rest of the night. It took us almost half an hour to receive the check. I want to mention that it was not too busy. So even food was excellent, service left sour taste. I would still recommend this restaurant for group dining or romantic special occasion dinner. Overall ambiance is very warm and welcoming."

  • "Have been going to Bottega for quite a few years. It has had it's ups and downs. Right now it is better than ever in terms of food."

  • "Very nice old-school Italian restaurant with very good food, excellent service, and a nice ambiance."

  • "The menu is quite appealing, but the food is not sensational as to justify Michelin star prices. Very pricey and service spotty. Portions are too small too. Only 5-star item in this place is the bread, which apparently is made on-site and is amazingly good. Other than that, the restaurant is very well located and has a funny vibrant tourist scene of tourists that come often to NY and go there all the time (almost like locals), which makes this palce special and fun to visit. Other than that, for these prices, I'd prefer to go to Harry Cipriani which is around the corner."

  • "I have been here for many different occasions ranging from power business lunch to a personal romantic evening. The service is always terrific from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The food is consistently terrific. "

  • "I went there two times in two days. My boyfriend loves the place. I liked very much the carpaccio and the wine list was great. Good and honest food. Easy to find, next to Apple Store. I would have liked more pasta choices and some risotto um the menu. I'd go back there."

  • "Great location, very good service. Although we erre placed at a table which was in a bit acquard place ( in between colomns so not easy for the vaitors to reach us) they were very quick and proffessional. Food is very good and the portions are big! Excellent desert wine .."

  • "We travel quite a good bit and it's always nice to have a favorite haunt to duck into for dinner. Bottega is always on our short list for NYC. And it's also what we consider NYC comfort food. A steaming bowl of minestrone soup, bolognse, and tiramisu. And one of their great bottles of wine. An evening well spent. If you're feeling down because of the grayness of travel, let the servers impress you with their professionalism and style. It reminds you that there are still many in the world who believe in the perfection of their performance. Flawless. "

  • "It has been a couple of years since I went to this restaurant. I remember the food as being very good and so was disappointed when I had the homemade pasta with a lamb ragu and it was basically tasteless. Wont go back."

  • "Restaurants should not take reservations for 10:30 PM, if upon arrival (and we arrived early) you are going to be told that the kitchen closes in five minutes so we need to get your order in now. Food showed results of having been prepared too quickly, though underlying ingredients were quite good. Appetizers were better than entrees. Nice wine list, but the rushed service, even though polite, was just too much."

  • "Food at this Italian restaurant is very good (especially the Branzino) but it is overpriced. $24 for a glass of red wine is excessive."

  • "Melt in your mouth spinach gnocchi with pecorino cream sauce and crispy pancetta was incredible! The wine is excellent (both in selection and taste) and the service was superb, attentive but not intrusive. Mediterranean Sea bass was prepared table side most professionally. Wonderful experience."

  • "We got a bottle of red wine and 3 pasta dishes to share and all were delicious, the wine was poured into 3 glasses to manually aerate each glass for us! Old school gem!"

  • "My wife and I dined here for the first time. We were seated at a lovely table for 2 closer to the front of the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the remarkable wine list. If you are a lover of wine, this is the place for you. I had the Amarone, which was really not the best choice for the Dover Sole we had. The Dover Sole was exceptional (it was a special that day). The wait staff de-boned and cleaned the fish at the table which makes for a very nice presentation. We also had an eggplant appetizer and asparagus soup, both of which were prepared perfectly. The restaurant, while small facing the street, is actually quite large (typical for NY). Reservations are a good idea for this Michelin Notable restaurant."

  • "Having been there the week before I was amazed at the risotto with mushrooms and tortellini. We rerun we and anxious to have some friends try it, we were completely disappointed in the spaghetti con Congolese as well as the tortellini. The meal started with the buffatta which qas great"
