Bosk, the signature restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto, brings to life ingredients harvested a la minute from a network of respected local suppliers. Diners can expect old-world cooking styles combined with contemporary ingredients, and served with genuine, caring service.

Bosk seats 80 diners, including private dining for up to 30 and a seasonal, outdoor terrace which wraps around the southeast corner of the building. In the summer months, the terrace offers table service for 40.

  • "I showed up for my lunch reservation and was seated. Told hostess that I was expecting a client and gave his name. He also knew reservation was under my name. Half hour later I get an email from client asking why I wasn't at Bosk. I walked to the front and found him waiting in hotel lobby. Hostess told him that there was no reservation under my name or knew he was coming. As a result I was late for an afternoon appointment and the apology was so insincere. Not going back. Food was average and very overpriced."

  • "Visited for Summerlicious July 2014. Excellent from the complimentary bread (soft and tasty) onwards! Scrumptious cucumber salad appetizer with delectable almond/olive crackles, just right steak for entree and finished by delicious citrus cake bursting with flavour and robust coffee. Great wine selection. Lovely setting and superior service - polite and helpful. What a contrast (in a positive way) to the terrible experience at Frank's (AGO) Summerlicious experience!"

  • "I've got to say that the food is pretty amazing here. I would highly recommend for foodies. I was there for the summerlicious lunch, and the starters were very good. For entree, my friend had the steak which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. I had the linguini(?) which was al dante, and rarely done perfectly in restaurants. It was tasty but I think it lacked a little something. For desserts, we had chocolate mousse, a little heavy, but very well done. As I'm not good with words, and I won't be able to do justice to the taste so I will leave it at that. But definitely somewhere I would like to come back to."

  • "Booked BOSK for a group work lunch to try the restaurant and experience summerliscious. Had read the reviews and was prepared for a nice experience and it certainly was even better than that. Our meals were delicisous (app, main and dessert) and the coffee was exceptional. The vibe in the restaurant was busy but very efficient and overall, all 5 of us (non of whom had dined at BOSK) walked away with a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the restaurant. Our waitress, Delrose was also a delight and kept us in check with time and recommendations on the options so again well done!!"

Few of things I would like to point out: - Arrived on time with reservations and was still told to wait, then walking into the restaurant I noticed a lot of empty tables. It doesn't add up. - I ordered the soy glazed pork belly. It was flavourful but a bit on the salty side. - Waiter was very friendly but took quite some time to get his attention. I enjoyed this and will return to try the regular menu."

  • "The place looks nothing original to me, a clean, contemporary and a bit "cold" design. Food was good and nicely presented. The service was B+ , stumbled on wine ( the white wine we chose wasn't available chilled). I little disappointment was the fact that the Bosk's summerlicious menu was created specifically for that time only , there was nothing from the original menu, which would've make sense to try. We visited other places , they serve their original menu items with portions size "adjustment", which gives you more than "just an idea" of the food served in the place. Overall, it was a good dinner for $200."

  • "eventhough I went there for summerlicious just by myself...yep, just by myself, but the staff treat me just like the other dining ppl. I had the tuna, steak and mango pudding. All the dishes are wonderful, when I was having the mango pudding, the perfect balance brought me into heaven! it just the steak I was asking should be a medium rare but it taste and looks like a medium...which is a little bit disappointment, but the taste is great and thank you very much I will definitely come back!"

  • "Attended Bosk with a colleague for lunch suring Summerlicious. Neither my colleague or I drink so we knew our tab would be much less than the average table at this restaurant; despite this, we experienced exceptional service from the hostess, server, and their team. I didn't feel the least bit of 'shame' for not being a big spender (that day) in a high end restaurant. The food was outstanding including a tuna appetizer, a flank steak main and a citrus cake dessert. Bosk did a great job and as we work in the area we will certainly be back after summerlicious to continue to enjoy their offerings."

Our only complaint pertains to a call we received from the restaurant the day before our lunch date to confirm our reservation. The caller told us that we "will have the table for 1 hour". We thought that this was unreasonable, and considered cancelling our reservation! We were glad we did not do so. As it happened, we had a delicious, relaxing lunch. We were at the table for 90 minutes, and nobody rushed us. We understand that the restaurant would be busy during Summerliciious days. But we wonder why they told us that we would have the table for only 1 hour!"

As for the appetizer, I got the tuna and it was good. The food was fresh, but the desert made me a bit disappointed. I like the woody wall, which makes me feel warm."

  • "My wife and I are usually disappointed with hotel-based restaurants, but Bosk was a pleasant surprise: no typical over-cooked, dried-out meat options and bland vegetables here! The roasted garlic aioli spread they serve with their bread is especially delicious! Utilizing wine decanters for serving water adds a nice visual touch too. Service was smooth, anticipatory, and kind. The restaurant is designed with mostly hard surfaces, so it can become moderately loud when full. The only negative was when they called to confirm the reservation, they stated that there was a 1-hour time limit: I was annoyed that they would have the audacity to say something like this, however, when we were actually at the restaurant, we did not feel rushed at all."

Even with the Summerlicious menu, the food comes with a significant level of complexity and subtleties in flavour.   • "We booked here to celebrate a special occasion. Location of the table was great, the service pleasant, yet professional. We all ordered from the "Summerlicious" menu and had the cucumber salad and seared tuna as appetizers, halibut and flat iron steak as mains. Presentation was great, not a heapful of food on the plate, amazing taste. The carafes to pour water are quite special. Our only "negative" comment: because the restaurant has two seatings, you get the feeling that everything is "slightly" rushed."

  • "Waiter didnt mention grapefruit in cocktail. Lemon cake was VERY dense(can't even rmb how it tastes anymore as the texture was just not up to standard). Told the waiter and responded: o the desert tastes bad? Let's see how much will be left? Was offer another and manager make a comment to defend that nasty lemon cake which made us think that it's us that was the problem and not the lemon cake. Honestly, it was a simple lemon cake, I am sure an average person can tell if a lemon cake is good or not. In the end she added: if you don't like the mango pudding, we don't know who can help u! What an attitude from the manager, never again will I come to this Bosk and I will not recommend it to my friends."
