Chefs John Besh and Brian Landry grew up fishing on Lake Borgne, the epicenter of coastal cuisine in Louisiana.
Their shared passion for Louisiana seafood brought them together to create Borgne, a celebration of coastal Louisiana with a touch of Isleño influence. Borgne will be a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, a CBD lunch spot, a quick bite before the game and a casual setting for a delicious dinner with friends.

  • "Borgne is a top flight place to dine. My wife and another couple decided to give it a try this past Sunday and we were absoutely pleased. All of our entrees were excellent. Fish in a bag is a do over. The black drum was off the hook. But I think what stole the show was half price tapas which included the best rendition of turkey necks I have ever tasted. Yes that's right, turkey necks. I cannot leave out our waiter , Joseph, aka "the voice". He was fun and professional. A good time was had by all."

  • "I typically really like John Besh restaurants but I personally didn't care for this one. It is a very nice looking restaurant. We had a great server, knowledgeable of the menu, very friendly and attentive. But for me, the restaurant was too loud and smelled like fish right when we walked in. The menu was a bit too small. One chicken dish, which is fried. One beef dish, which I had and really sorry to say I didn't care for (didn't like the marinade). The Caesar Salad was loaded with fresh anchovies which wasn't clearly stated on the menu. While I love Caesar dressing and know that it is made with anchovies, I do not like them sliced and diced fresh through out the salad. I would recommend Borgne to seafood lovers only."

  • "I enjoyed this restaurant and there is a lot to recommend. I was visiting N.O. so I was unfamiliar with the location. It is in the Hyatt Regency which was beautiful but I had the feeling of hotel food. Not the case. The best dish for me was the salt and pepper calamari. Different take and was delicious. The baked oysters were also a hit at our table. Interestingly enough, I thought the best main dish at our table was the hanger steak. The steak was tender, the sauce delicious and the side croquettes were outstanding. The fish in a bag was good also. Desserts were fabulous....midnight chocolate cake to die for and the key lime pie was a different twist with rum ice cream. Truly outstanding way to end the meal."

  • "We are big fans of Chef John Besh...but we were still blown away by the food at Borgne! We shared the unique Caesar salad which was wonderful. The octopus appetizer and oyster spaghetti entree were both unique and delicious. The black drum was out of this world....everything was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The only negative was the coffee..very weak & watery...upon discussing this with our server Nora she promptly removed the coffee charge from our bill. Nora also was a part of our pleasurable experience! A must try restaurant if you are a foodie!"

  • "Visited for the first time for lunch on my birthday. Service was great, staff is very friendly and accommodating. The Duck and Andouille Gumbo is superb, one of the best gumbos in town. The catfish poboy was also excellent, tender small filet bits of wild catfish friend just right with a great sauce and wonderful bread. I was treated to the key lime pie lunchbox pie which consists of a round puck shaped bit of key lime pie filling nicely chilled, crumbled ginger snap on the side, a wonderful cream sauce and topped with black rum ice cream. That was a fantastic desert."

  • "My teenage daughter and I ate dinner before a concert at the Arena. We didn't want any leftovers, so we split everything. Our meal was delicious! The service was excellent, and all the food was brought to the table on individual plates. It didn't seem like we were sharing, and we were full without feeling stuffed. It was a wonderful beginning to a great evening!"

  • "Second time to Borgne, and as with all John Besh restaurants, the food is truly remarkable. This one has a fantastic bar, the "longest one in the city of New Orleans". The happy hour $1 menu is great and a lot of fun. The only drawback at Borgne is that with all the hard surface finishes and the wide open dining room/bar, it is impossible to hear people at your own table. It drives me nuts when I literally can not hear my wife who is sitting right next to me, and this happens at Borgne if they are full. Oh, they are always full."

We were impressed that even on a Sunday with a concert going on they still had happy hour. Would go back again. We were still talking about the food the next day!"

  • "Although the food was excellent, we were disappointed in the overall service. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed with the number of tables although it did not appear to be very busy. The bar was backed up. Our order wasn't taken for quite awhile. Our bread came towards the end of the meal. I don't think it was bad service, just understaffed. I've been a number of times and this is the first time this has ever happened. It will not prevent me from going again."

  • "Visited for happy hour for the first time. The tapas were delicious and who can say anything bad about $2 beer? Don't leave without trying the Ceviche or Catfish sliders. I look forward to returning to try the full menu! The only bad thing is that it was very very loud, but I guess that is expected at a happy hour setting. The restaurant is beautiful!"

Then the bill came and I felt it was too over priced for the food we had. I would not recommend people to spend their money here if they want some really good food."
