Diner Reviews
  • "Menu was creative and delicious. It was busy and service suffered a bit, but assume due to Easter. Can't wIt to go back on a regular day and try menu."

  • "We went to Border Grill for Easter Brunch. Have to say it was a great deal. the food was great, the service was great. Nest time I would sit inside though to avoid begin divebombed by birds. That was the only real complaint. "

  • "We discovered Border Grill in LA and wanted to try their brunch. We were warmly greeted and offered a table outside. Our delightful server explained the small plates and said we could order as many as we wanted. We started with three each and we were able to share the plates so we could taste it all. They were delicious! We can't wait to go back to Border Grill!"

  • "What a wonderful way to spend Easter Sunday. The small plates were amazing. The mimosas were everything! Our server was outstanding. She made sure we always had a array of dishes and that we were happy with our selections. Every dish was tasty, well seasoned and unique. Their spin on Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp and Grits made me forget I wasn't dining at a premier southern restaurant. We all came away satisfied. Thumbs Up! "

  • "I was in Las Vegas visiting friends and wanted to try the food of Border Grill and the two Chefs that created the concept. The service was very slow, presentation of the food was very sloppy. The duck dish looked as if it was served in a canteen line and dumped on the plate. Service only got better when the waitress found out my guest were local to Las Vegas. Samples were brought out and the attitude of our wait person changed. I am not a local but I come to Las Vegas about 8 times during the year and always return to my favorite spot. I look for srrvice and presentation and The Border Grill failed in both. "

  • "Good concept. Great wall art. Fantastic menu but execution was far below the expectations we brought with us and the menu offered. One staffer for the entire outside venue. She did a great job but was greatly outnumbered. Drinks 15 dollars and would have been overpriced at 4."

  • "Went to border grill for lunch and had wonderful service by a server named Dan. Antonio the buser was also very helpful. They reccomended excellent drinks as well as different suggestions for dining options. Loved the atmosphere and will return in the future. "

  • "My wife has dined here several times for their weekend brunch and finally decided to take me. It was everything I had hoped it would be. My wife said the oysters Rockefeller was one of the best bites of food she has ever had. I loved the PBJ biscuit so much I had two. Our server Jay was great at giving us recommendations, so much so that my wife just let him bring her whatever flavor Mimosa he wanted. She fell in love with the apple basil mimosa. We sat on the upper patio and really enjoyed it. We will be back again and again!"

  • "First time to Border Grill and we were not disappointed. Fantastic recommendations from Crystal, superb service, and the chicken mole was the best I have ever had. Hurry over and get yourself some."

  • "What great food! The menu is dynamic with wonderful twists on classics- do NOT miss the tamales!!!"

  • "We made a reservation for 4:30 before we arrived in town and were really looking forward to the food. We were seated about 5 minutes after arriving, and water, chips and salsa arrived instantly. The guys responsible for the water were very attentive, but we sat for at least 15 minutes before a waitress arrived and another 15 minutes after that before she brought our drinks. We ordered chicken enchiladas, which were bland, and brisket taquitos, which were greasy and hard. Both rices tasted like "flavor packets" and the beans were the best thing on the plates. Based on the reputation of the chefs, we were surprised that the food was so mediocre, and the poor service and a screeching ceiling fan just pushed the experience into unpleasant."

  • "Great restaurant and reasonably priced! Amazing food and service. The short rib enchiladas and the fish tacos were AMAZING. One of the guests in my party called them the best fish tacos they had ever had. Prompt and impeccable service! We were meeting two other people and who got tied up in traffic and we were concerned about missing a nearby show that we had tickets for. We explained this to the staff and they went over and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience without rushing us but still cognizant that we were in a hurry and on a time schedule. The margaritas and guacamole and salsas are not to be missed!!"

  • "I made a reservation last minute for Sunday Brunch. I still had to wait about 20 minutes for my patio seat, which wasn't terrible considering how crowded the place was. The brunch is served Tappas style and I went with the Bottomless Mimosas. The bartender was very nice as I had a drink while I waited for my table. The staff was very friendly. It is very busy on Sundays so I found myself waiting a lot. Other than the wait, I was very pleased with my experience. An affordable brunch and they seem to cut no corners with the presentation of each dish. I would like to experience other specials besides brunch, when the restaurant is a little less crowded."

  • "We're very glad we went on our recent trip to Las Vegas, well worth the trip to Mandalay Bay for this. The food was good and the service just right."

  • "Over a week in Vegas, we dined at many places that was greatly memorable food and ambiance. Border grill was so so. Nothing more than a mediocre neighborhood Mexican place. Service initially was very slow at the bar, but picked up later.he staff were friendly. My entree was not great at all and was taken out of my bill. I will not return."

  • "We have been to Border Grill countless times on vacation trips and have been impressed by the variety and quality. You will not be disappointed. The food is very filling, but do save room for dessert"

  • "Great food. Scallops are excellent. Vegetables are fresh. No duds on the menu at our table. Drinks are small and pricy, but high in quality. Blood orange margarita was solid. Overall, a hip spot."

  • "The new brunch menu was rolled out on Saturday and it was spectacular. Everything was delicious. Hats of to the chefs, the flavors were spot on. The balance was superb. Brunch and mimosa's outside by the pool, how much more relaxing can you get? It was a fun time and will definately be partaking again soon."

  • "All you can drink mimosas in a multiple of flavors for $10. A 20 plus item menu of unlimited small plates for $35 made fresh just for you. Don't forget to sit on the upper patio overlooking the lazy river at Mandalay Bay. Every time I come to Vegas, I make sure to stop at Border Grill."

  • "As we told the server, we don't want anything spicy... Everything but our tasteless Salad was beyond spicy."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We dined at Border Grill around 12:30 in the afternoon, although crowded we were sat immediately. The food also came out in quick succession which was nice because we had a limited time to dine. The waiter suggested the fish tacos which were very tasty. Will definitely return."
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "The food was underwhelming. Good, but not great. Spicy shrimp tacos were of dubious quality and under seasoned. I sampled several dishes looking for some spice, and I found no heat from chili peppers anywhere. I wanted to ask for some hot salsa or pepper sauce, but my server didn't come back until several minutes into the meal. Her returning only once was probably for the best since she never returned thereafter, or refilled my water. For two celebrity chefs' restaurant who's food I fell in love with watching them cook, I was saddened."

  • "I have wanted to try Border Grill for a while and finally made it there last weekend. The food was good. Some better than others. My husband enjoyed the short rib dish and I enjoyed the breakfast fries. The peanut butter jelly and bacon biscuit was unusual, but glad I tried it. Overall, a very good experience for a Saturday brunch."

  • "The guacamole seemed fresh, and our food was very good, and prices were better than at most of the Las Vegas eateries. Also, like the rest of Las Vegas (from our personal experience), noisy."

  • "Great all you can eat small plates brunch - some unusual, but fabulous brunch options. A tad pricey at $35 per person - but a nice splurge for a Sunday brunch."

  • "We had been once before, for dinner, and it was great. Decided to try for brunch and am so sorry we did. Hostess was rude, table, glasses, silverware was dirty. Booth was covered in someone else's food and whole outdoor "patio" looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Service took forever and serve kept telling us how bad some of the items were. Food was oversalted yet bland; worst tortilla I've ever had, tasted stale. Drinks were OK but took forever to arrive. Seriously overpriced and location is awful."

  • "My sister and I visited the Border Grill in Mandalay Bay on a weekend and we both had the brunch menu with bottomless mimosas. Our server was very helpful and recommended some dishes to try. All the dishes we had were excellent and they had many different flavoured mimosas to try. Definitely worth a visit if in Vegas"

  • "This is my wife and I's one staple meal in Vegas every time we travel there. Our vacations always starts or ends with Brunch at Border Grill and it never disappoints. We had an awesome meal last weekend, and are very excited for the new brunch menu they will be creating shortly"

  • "Highly recommend this restaurant. The chicken enchiladas have an amazing sauce and were they best I have ever had. If you like Mexican food, this is the place to go."

  • "Great mexican food, although a bit off the beaten track at the Mandalay Bay. The service was a bit spotty, we walked up to the hostess stand and the girl was on the computer....for about 5 minutes. Never acknowledged us. A different hostess finally walked up to the stand and we were seated. I think they were very busy with the brunch crowd outside, as whenever we needed something we had to flag down our waitress, but she was very nice and always quick to deliver our requests."

  • "Took customers to Border Grill the other day for a nice business lunch. The service was awesome and extremely quick which was nice because we were taking a break from the convention we were attending in Vegas. That's why we were very surprised when the food came out ice cold. The flavor was nice but the plates were not hot nor was the food. It kind of ruined the whole dining experience. My steak tacos also were extremely chewy and fatty. The fish tacos were cold and fishy. I've been to the LA location of this restaurant and it's far better. Someone needs to start monitoring quality control. I was highly disappointed and won't come back."

  • "The service was great and the food was awesome! The three different salsa's brought out were all very good. We dined outside which was beautiful. The time of year, it wasn't too hot and the outside atmosphere made for a great dinner. The service was awesome. The fish tacos and chicken quesadillas were delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone and would definitely eat there again to try more dishes."

  • "I always go to Border Grill when I am in Vegas. The food is outstanding and always fresh, I love that they are a sustainable restaurant. The bar is fun if you are by yourself or with a crowd. Love the chips and salsa, and the food presentation is always something to look forward to when they deliver your plate to the table. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. i have never had a bad meal there and take friends or co-worker there when in Vegas."

  • "This was our first time at Border Grill and the Cali-inspired Mexican food was excellent. Even though we were there late at night, all of the food tasted so fresh. From cocktails to guacamole to tacos, this was a great meal with great service. We will return."

  • "A week-end brunch that I don't have to get up and stand in line. Unlimited small plates (tapas) brought to you by your server and definitely not bacon and eggs. Add the unlimited mimosas for $8 and you could look out over the pool for a very long and relaxing time. We made these reservations for our last meal on our way to the airport, just the ticket to end a very hectic and crowded week in Vegas. Will definitely return to the Border Grill. Not American Mexican! Can't recall seeing anything on the menu that said (ground beef)."

  • "I am pretty biased when it comes to this place as I've been a club member since Manadalay Bay opened. I have not been here in at least a year, last time 4 dinner so brunch seemed like a great option. I could not have been more on the money. The appetizer-sized portions were great for sharing and my favorites: Spicy Shrimp & Grits had a kick with tons of flavor; very tasty frittata that cut like butter; lobster with corn pancakes topped with a fried egg and hollandaise. It was so good I've been back a second time since requested to do this review. The tequila bar is the best part as custom creations by both mixologists JP & Rolando ruled. Apple & Basil; Grapefruit & Honey: and, Cucumber & Jalepeno marga-tinis, awesome!"
