The thing that stands out is the amazing personal service. We were well attended to by a friendly but unassuming waiter who made our experience excellent. The wine list is wonderful. The food was very good and well served, but for my taste at that price point I was not blown away like I wanted to be. The setting in a church is neat, but a little minimal for my taste.

One of the things I like about Bonterra is their extensive appetizer menu. I did not want a big meal and was able to have a lovely meal from the appetizer selection. Bonterra never disappoints.

We were somewhat disappointed with our dining experience at Bonterra. We had dined there on several occasions in the past and really enjoyed it. This time, not so much. Our waiter was pleasant and accommodating, but not especially engaging. Service was prompt, but would have preferred a slower pace. We really didn't care for the mixed greens salad - way too bitter!. We thought the entree menu was limited. The duck didn't have much pizazz and didn't have a nice crisy skin. The veal was OK. Cheesecake and molten cake were standard fare. Overall disappointed especially for the cost.

Price is only an issue in the absence of value. Hence, my 3 star rating. The food was good, and the ambiance nice, the service was attentive when necessary, yet held back when they could tell we were engrossed in our conversations. The wine list was extensive and our waiter's suggestions spot on. This brings us back to price. When the bill arrived I have to admit I was a bit surprised, and it caused me to reflect on my overall dining experience. I'm happy to pay for a great one, but after a few days of reflection, my overall feeling is that it was not a great value. Somehow Bonterra falls short of the mark.

At this visit, the overall food experience was not as good as previous visits. The duckbreast was OK but the barley was more than al dente. The lamb shanks were somewhat blah. The lamb meatball appetizer in barbecue sauce was too sweet as was the daily special mushroom consomme which had little character of mushrooms. Service was excellent.

Great restaurant to make a great impression upon an out of town guest with a sophisticated food pallet wined and dined in the NY metro area. Additionally, what a surprise to discover Bonterra's support of local-regional-sustainable food and farmers. No wonder I absolutely loved the food!!!
