  • "We visited Bongos prior to a Heat game. Staff was outstanding. Bongos Nachos were delicious with over the top fresh ingredients. Plantains instead of nacho chips were a creative and delicious touch. Skirt steak was overly salty. Sliders were extremely dry. In fact our waiter brought me another order (chicken) instead of beef and unfortunately they were dry as well. Buns were hard. Rice and beans excellent. Overall we will return but were disappointed with the entrees on this occasion. Setting is beautiful and decor lovely. Music excellent. "

  • "We had a 6pm reservation, once you got there, no host greeted you Had to find someone to ask what to do, we were told to sit and wait like everyone else we waited for almost 30 minutes, before getting a table the waiters kept passing us for about 15 mins before one stopped and asked if we were being helped He then took our order, by this time, we were in a rush so had to order appetizers versus main course I would"

  • "The place was exceptionally crowded due to a Heat game and private function. Service was off this night plus the waiter tried to upcharge us for premium brand drink which wasn't ordered. Be sure to check your bill if you decide to dine there. Food is a step above what they serve in the arena but certainly not the best cuban food around."

  • "Apparently they were having a private party...so the inside of the resturant was closed to the general public requiring us to sit outside (like we were at a wedding)...empty white round tables, no place settings, nothing. We were not allowed to use the indoor restrooms and had to use those of the American Airlines Arena which required an elevator ride and a 50 yard walk. The food was bland, boring and unneccesarily expensive for what you got. The service was slow and sirly. If you are going to have a private party that basically takes over the resturant, then recommend you turn OFF accepting OpenTable reservations. Complained to the manager...he said "sorry, the Private Party has basically taken over the restuarant". FAIL"

  • "We must return for the big Bongo Latin blow0out party on weekends. Music and dancing would have been fun."

  • "This restaurant is adjacent to the American Airlines Arena. The food is good but nothing outstanding and for a Cuban restautrant is missing some important offerings. Also, the menu is preety pricey. There are too many good Cuban restaurants to eat here and if not for Heat game that we were attending, there would be no reason to go here. Service is very good though."

  • "service was good, hard to get to and the parking pirates demand $10 to enter and refuse to honor the free pkg to Bongo patrons as posted, may want to try for dancing late at night"

  • "Good spot for dinner and dancing. The serving crew was not sure about their service, but they tried very hard to please us. We already recommended it to our friends, and we would go there again. It was a fun night!"

  • "The service was ok. But no smiling people, pushing to finish our dinner fast. I told them we were celebrating my dayghter's 23thbirthday and they didn't even sang or bring a piece of cake. To way expensive for what it is. And extremely cold inside"

  • "The restaurant was empty, the food was below average. The service was outstanding. The fried plantains and the "rellenos de papa" we're good. The meat ordered medium-rare was well done, and the rest of the food was mediocre."

  • "Super excited for Cuban Cuisine but was very disappointed in flavor but more of a problem was the foods temperature. Had to send appetizer back twice and settled on third attempt. Main dish was luke warm. Brutal experience. Shock of my trip. Had heard positive things but wouldn't recommend to anyone for dinner. Music, drinks, and restaurant set up a d scene were excellent."

  • "We went on Thursday and it was pretty empty. Plus was difficult to find. Only one way in."

  • "The food was bland. I am Cuban so I know what Cuban food should taste like and this food was nearly flavorless. The waiter split the checks and put the wrong plate on my friends check. It cost her an extra $5. We tried to explain it to him but he could not understand his mistake even after repeating it to him 6 times. So we gave up. We weren't going to tip, but It didn't matter because there was a 20% gratuity included. That's way too much. We should have called a manager but we ended up just waiting for the real reason we went to Bongos. It's a great club. Plenty of salsa music for those who know how to dance it. Plenty of other music for everyone else. It was fun after all but I'll never eat dinner there again."

  • "Service was bad. It took forever for my order to be taken. Then they brought me the wrong drink. The pork had no taste. It took so long for them to take care of my bill. The manager was very rude."

  • "Discovered it by mistake and have ben back multiple times since. Great food, great time. Plus, it turns into a club at night so there is always that plus"

  • "We stumbled on this restaurant while in Miami for my wedding. We wanted authentic cuban food and found this via Open Table. We did not know it was own by Gloria Stefan and Husband. But very much enjoyed the music videos that were being played of Gloria's concerts. It was a Thursday night and not much going on we arrived at 7pm but the serivce and food were very good. We will return."
