  • "We were promptly shown to our table and wait staff attentive. Our server was relaxed and did not give out the robotic programed spiel detailing specials and all that. We were served our salad and beverage's within 10 mins. Entre right after salad plates were removed. I had steak twice baked and green beans. Steak was cooked perfect. A reg baked potato would have been a better choice as the twice baked was too rich and a little on the greasy side. Beans were crunchy and well flavored. Date had shrimp with rice and green beans. Shrimp were sweet and fresh. I would visit again and try other dishes."

  • "We booked reservations online for lunch after our Vow Renewal. One couple in our party had to leave early, so I called the day before and requested their meals be ready when we arrived. Bonfyre served them within minutes of our party being seated! The soup was hot, the sandwiches cold, and the food was amazing. Our waiter was curteous and attentive. I would recommend Bonfyre to anyone!"

  • "We chose Bonfyre because of the variety of the menu and that it included steak which is what needs to be on the menu to get my husband to try a new place. Overall the steaks and swordfish were good but a little under-seasoned. We enjoyed the tai chicken flatbread and truffle fries (the fries were free with an email that I received) for an appetizer. My son's girlfriend had the Spring Risotto and I had it as a side and it was tasty.It was our son's birthday so he picked a free mini mouse plus we tried the creme brulee which was delicious. Service was excellent and overall a wonderful evening."

My only problem is I am breast feeding and when I asked about the dish, my waiter didn't explain that the sauce was spicy and give me too many options that didn't have the garlic butter sauce on. Well, babies can't have garlic....I hate to be picky but need to be careful. When you only get out once in a while, you want to make sure you can eat your food."

  • "My scallops were under cooked and the atmosphere was loud inside. We had are sweet potato fries boxed up to take home. But once home we noticed that they gave us somebody else's left overs. We were not happy at all. Definitely not going back there."

  • "Great food, fun atmosphere, and incredible staff. Our server was extremely helpful when I couldn't decide what to eat. He also had the perfect suggestion for dessert for my aunt who was with us. She has Down's Syndrome and his suggestion was spot on! We rarely go out to eat because my husband usually is unsatisfied with his food, but all 3 of our meals were delicious!"

  • "Went to Bonfyre for the first time in over three years. Had a wonderful experience there before so thought we'd try it again. The food was decent, nothing memorable. The service was fine, but we felt rushed. We barely got started with the appetizers when suddenly our soup and salad arrived. We barely started them when the entrees arrived! For an above-average priced place, I would rather feel like I could take my time than feel rushed. The martini I had (cucumber/lemon) was fantastic though!"

  • "Every year, my husband and I go somewhere we have never been to for my birthday. I have seen Bonfyre Restaurant from the beltline many times and have been very intrigued. I then saw a review in the Wisconsin State Journal. We decided to make reservations at the Bonfyre for my birthday this year. The Bonfyre Restaurant lived up to its review. The food and atmosphere were excellent, as well as the service. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "Overall a huge disappointment. Food was ok, certainly not spectacular. Bar mixed a poor drink and when I brought it to the servers attention she offered to just add some cranberry juice, didn't even bother to reshake the martini. Kids food was delivered quickly. When one child flipped her plate on to the floor it took 15 min for a server to return to our table and another 25 min to remake a simple cheeseburger. Adult food arrived and it took her 15 min to return to see if we needed anything else. Our plates were largely finished and somehow we didn't see another person for another 30 min. Just because kids are included in a group doesn't mean a server should just give up, I believe our lousy experience was because we brought out kids."

  • "I would not recommend this restaurant.reservation specifically stated we were celebrating my daughters 26 birthday-no mention or birthday wish made by hostess or waiter.The waiter never asked if we wanted 2nd rnd of drinks or how our food was.My husband found our waiter in the hallway texting on phone.The waiter never asked us for dessert.Neither my husband or daughter liked their dinners. I asked for no onionsand my burger came loaded with them.I was charged for all of the toppings-did not get cheese I asked for. The waiter brought our check never came back for it. I took it up to the hostess and the waiter stood right in front of me to watch me fill in his tip-that I wish I had not left.The waiter was rude, condescending and arrogrant."

  • "The morning of our meal, I updated the reservation from 6 to 10 people. Everything went in just fine. When I arrived at the restaurant (a little late) I found that there was some confusion with the host, that he didn't have a table for 10 available in the main dining room, and that he was going to seat us in the Lounge, a separate bar/dining room on the other side of the building. The ambience was okay, but I didn't really understand the change. Next time I'll insist on the main dining room."

  • "We had a group of 11 ladies for a bachelorette party. We had two waiters that were excellent. They did separate checks for all of us and didn't even tack on a service charge. Our drinks and food were served rather quickly for a Saturday night with a full house. I highly recommend this restaurant for both a group setting or an intimate dinner."

  • "Decided to come here for a birthday celebration. Asked for a QUIET large booth or table for 6, didn't get it. They put us by the door leading to the outside patio with lots of noise and traffic (go figure). Note, the restaurant was not busy. . .We ordered Pat's Cioppino to share and asked for small bowls, they came back with 2 of the largest bowls in the world (seriously?). My mom asked for more bread, they never brought it. The food was good though and well prepared. They offered our birthday celebrant a complimentary dessert which was nice. Suggest they train their service staff better so service improves."

  • "First, the hostess did not ask about our reservation and then seated us in a table right next to the bar, ick. We were never offered any bread and then learned it was ala carte. I would have really liked to have the option to buy or not. Next, my steak was really fatty. I ordered the NY strip to avoid that and for the price it sure could have been lean."

I'd say a great place for brunch in groups where you are willing to spend some money but not your first born child. About $50 for 3 people. Try the breakfast nachos if you're there for weekend brunch (I was surprised but the waitress assured me they were good and she was right)"

  • "We went for our anniversary. My wife's steak was very good. The corn with my pork chop was like eating glue and the pork chop was way over cooked. I only had a few bites of each. You could hardly cut through it. The waitress was very apologetic and offered free desert and coffee. At a decent place the general manager would have shown up to apologize. It is also more of a post work bar than restaurant "

She recommended the calamari appetizer - fantastic! She was there to make sure our cocktails were full and she had such a positive personality. Our dinners were fine, not spectacular -- I had the salmon pasta and my hubby, the blue gill."

  • "Great dinner. Amos was terrific as a server. My husband had a martini and I had a manhatten. Both were perfect. I didn't rate the restaurant as romantic because it got noisy at times (group celebration). The people at the bar were obviously enjoying themselves, which added to the noise. We arrived during happy hour, though, and should have come later. The food made up for everything. The flatboat was a wonderful starter. My husband said the rib eye was very tasty. I liked the shrimp dish. We will go back soon. "

  • "From the moment we walked in, our experience was outstanding. We were welcomed nicely and our table was waiting for us on a very busy Saturday night. Service was well-paced and our server was thoughtful without being overly doting. The apple brie bruschetta is a great starter. The grilled Caesar salad should be ordered by every diner! It was excellent. Our group ordered a variety of entrees, all of which were fresh and well prepared. The gluten-free options were appreciated. I have dined there twice and would gladly return!"
