What a great greeting! The fresh mozzarella over the asparagus salad was pure heaven and tossed with the most delicate dressing... yum! Trout was our entree from the Prix Fix menu and it was so well prepared and tasty! Our wait staff was friendly and efficient! The ambience and the service were beyond reproach. The food was delicious; the lasagna being unique to my experience. The suggestion that one book for 5:30 in order to make an 8:00 show was, as we anticipated, overly cautious in our case (although, in truth, dining conditions probably vary greatly and it's better safe than sorry). The food is very good. We go for pre- theater dining and have always gotten good service and never felt rushed. The atmosphere is upscale and the place is lively. It can be noisy, more energetic than crazy though. I would recommend the lasagne, which seems perhaps not too exciting, but it is a very different preparation and presentation that was fantastic - it is huge so I would recommend that two people share it. We started with the choice of three items from the antipaste bar which were served as we looked at the menu, so it was a nice start. It has character & is a true New York dining experience. Check out the names on the booths for some of the people that have eaten there & the waiters might have a gem of a story or two as well. They do their best to accommodate you when you have traffic problems. But more important, the service is wonderful and the food is outstanding. My absolute favorite dish is their signature lasagna. You've never seen it like this before. Their antipasto offerings are amazing and if you want a great steak, you've got it. Their food is wonderful and their servers are not only professional, but quite engaging as well. Their antipasto bar with housemade Buffalo Mozzarella Burrata and many different vegetables is divine. They send you off to your show with a smile on your face, not to mention a just hot from the oven chocolate cookie served from the cookie sheet, with a flourish. Vibrant bar if you want to sit with a drink and get a small bite.
