A word from Bond 45
Located in the heart of Times Square and the Theater District, and walking distance to every Broadway show, this landmark eatery treats you like family and offers up perfect steaks, homemade mozzarella and a fabulous antipasto bar.
Bond 45 feels like part of old New York, because it is. The Ziegfeld Follies played on our roof back when the building was the Hammerstein Theater.
The New York Post calls Bond 45 “An Italian steakhouse reincarnation of the old Jack Dempsey’s, which already tastes like a long running hit, and Hal Rubenstein of New York Magazine says it: ”Treats [you] like family while executing home-style cooking as solid as my mom’s."

Never, ever again will I go to this place -- the only thing I can say in its favor is that the location is good and they seated us promptly. Horribly overpriced, food is adequate at best. Drinks are terribly over priced as well. Service was the same as if we were at a chain restaurant (which is what this reminded me of).

The restaurant location was great. The restaurant itself was very nice and decorated for the holidays. Our waiter was fair. He seemed to pay more attention to the people around us. The food was very expensive for the size of the portions they served. I would choose a differnet restaurant when visiting NY in the future.

Overall good, not great. Server was attentive, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was just right and the place was packed by the dinner hour. Chicken parm was outstanding and well prepared but the clams with white sauce dish my husband ordered came with very little pasta which is unusual for Italian restaurants since pasta is a low-cost entree. Fettucine ragu was disappointing. Despite pasta shortage, we felt it was a good pick run by professionals who knew what they were doing but felt it was overpriced as entrees came with no salads or side dishes. Below average value for the dollar as far as food goes--you pay for the service, atmosphere and reputatation.

Reception was genuine and professional. Waitstaff service, however, was fairly poor. As a single diner, I got stuck at a small table next to a pillar that jutted out from the wall which was a bit uncomfortable. The waiter forgot to bring my wine and never checked back with me to see how my meal was. Food was pretty good but I felt like I was a patron to be endured rather than taken care of.

Overall it was very good, however the hostess, Jennifer was rude upon seating us. We had a reservation & when we asked for a booth instead of a table, her reply was, "This is for the preferred customers. I can give you a booth on the side". We took it, but It did put a damper on the birthday celebration for my sister. Our waiter, Tyler made up for it & the food was terrific!

I had the lasagna and it was absolutely delicious. But $24.50? This is one of these restaurants that you don't go to unless you are expensing it. The service was very slow, unfriendly, indifferent and overall poor. I probably would not return to this restaurant unless someone else was paying for it. I certainly am not going to pay through the nose for food and then have to tip for bad service.

I love the Fireman restaurants and have been to Bond 45 for dinner many times. I went to lunch pre-Christmas and it was slammed. NOISY beyond noisy! The service was poor - the main dishes sat on the table until after the dessert was delivered. For such steep prices, service should be gracious.I was told the restaurant was closing after lunch for a party at 4 pm and the kitchen was crazy. However, this shouldn't have been visible to me or my dining guest, etc.

A little disappointing. We chose an assortment of antipasto to begin with. Nothing to write home about-langostino rolls were lacking in size and flavor, shrimp/scallop salad was tasty and olive selection was okay. Our entrees; sliced skirt steak and veal parm were good, but nothing to write home about. Most disappointing was the service which I had read was fantastic. Our waiter seemed bored to be there. He never once cracked a smile or offered a suggestion. He set a very poor tone for the evening. I had requested a good table when I made a reservation because it was my wife's birthday and we were squeezed in a very tight corner seated next to one and other. Not exactly a great table. All in all, a disappointing dining experience.

I've been to Bond 45 many times. It's one of my favorites. The food is good, nothing exceptional but consistently high quality. I've been there several times for lunch and returned for pre-theatre dinner. The atmosphere is very very different... quiet and business like with superb service for lunch. Noisy and hectic but fun for dinner. This time, however, dinner service was notably more mediocre. We had to vigorously hail someone to take our drink order and then again to take our dinner order. It was my friends birthday and I asked two people to put a candle in the dessert. No one did. Our waiter was friendly so I can't give service a poor rating but still... not up to par.

This was the fourth time I have dined at Bond 45. I have never been disappointed and like it even more with each visit. I have selected a different entree every time and have found them all to be excellent. The antipasto bar is to die for and the service is attentive but not overbearing. We arrived early so we headed to the bar for a drink and where delicious snacks awaited us. The noise level during the busiest hours can be energetic so I suggest requesting a table on the upper level toward the back if you're looking for a quieter romantic dinner for two. Bond 45, located on the site of a notable men's clothing store of the past, should definitely be on your list when you are looking for a wonderful dining experience in Manhattan

We made a reservation for Sunday. The website clearly states that the dinner menu is served all day on Sundays. When we sat at our table and received our menus it was a limited menu because they were closing at 3:00 for a party. Our waiter was also the bartender, so he was impossible to get when we needed anything. We ordered drinks that we never received and had to leave without dessert or coffee because the show we were seeing was beginning soon and the coffee still had not arrived.

The downfall to going here again is that the table was not ready and the wait was so long that they gave us a11 a glass of champagne so that it didn't seem so bad. Since we were going to the theater we had to rush through dinner. That was bad!

My sister came to visit from California and I bought tickets to a show. We needed a pre theater restaurant close to our theater and I chose Bond 45. It is 2 blocks from the restaurant and seemed fine form the description. The restaurant was packed. We were literally elbow to elbow with our neighbors. The people to our left spoke so loudly that we could hear our own conversation with great difficulty. Service was inconsistent at best. It was difficult to get the attention of the waitor. Food was OK. I would never return. This was a real disappointment.
