A word from Bond 45
Located in the heart of Times Square and the Theater District, and walking distance to every Broadway show, this landmark eatery treats you like family and offers up perfect steaks, homemade mozzarella and a fabulous antipasto bar.
Bond 45 feels like part of old New York, because it is. The Ziegfeld Follies played on our roof back when the building was the Hammerstein Theater.
The New York Post calls Bond 45 “An Italian steakhouse reincarnation of the old Jack Dempsey’s, which already tastes like a long running hit, and Hal Rubenstein of New York Magazine says it: ”Treats [you] like family while executing home-style cooking as solid as my mom’s."

Diner Reviews
  • "Food was excellent, a little pricey. Portions were a little too big depending on what you order, the specialty lasagna is wonderful but I recommend splitting it among two people.. way too much to eat alone and if going before the theater you can't take the leftovers with you. The scallops were fabulous and served with creamy flavorful risotto. The service was courteous and attentive. They recommend a 5:30 start time for an 8PM show, but we arrived around 6, skipped appetizers (food portions more than sufficient) and had dessert (the bucket of chocolate mousse was wonderful, and large enough for four to share) and still were able to make our show with plenty of time to spare. Great before Theater restaurant. Only Caution- lots of stairs."

  • "Bond 45 is a great choice for a business lunch in the theatre district. Their menu is not too challenging, but at the same time it is "fit for foodies" so there is something for everyone. Their fresh burrata, made daily, is amazing. The service is excellent. It can get a little loud at lunch before a Wednesday matinee, simply because it gets very busy, but nonetheless I recommend it any day of the week."

  • "I come to the City for business pretty regularly, and over the years I have had the opportunity to dine at many of the "finer" restaurants in and around Manhattan. And while Bond 45 is neither the most expensive, nor the most celebrated, in my opinion it offers the best combination of amazing food, outstanding service, and great atmosphere. It is my favorite restaurant in New York City."

  • "i had dined at Bond 45 several times, pre- and post-theatre. Always found service quite good. I was a party of 6, we were seated right away at a very nice table. It was quite late, so we all opted for the appetizer plates, excellent suggestions, and some of the wonder pizzas for the table. Age range of party - 19 to 66; everyone had a great time."

  • "We went for a team business lunch and it was great, the restaurant was much bigger than expected, the ambiance and decor perfectly suited for an italian feel. our waiter was great, very friendly, personable and knowledgeable of the menu. the loster salad was devine, with very fresh mozarella, the muscles were delicious as was the capresa, bruscheta and fish. a great touch is the delicious bread the serve with olive oil. at the end of the meal the have a home like feel passing around trays of fresh chocolate cookies, capuccinos were great...overall a great meal and experience will recommend and be back soon."

  • "We walked in to a genuinely warm welcome, and left happy (and stuffed!). Not sure how we had such a great meal so quickly without ever feeling rushed. Every bite was delicious, portions were enormous. Will definitely return again."

  • "As well it should be, for these prices. We went on Saturday before the theater. Although the restaurant has a bit of the "churn tables before the theater" vibe, the staff does an excellent job of making you feel like you might be the only ones going to the theater. They make what could be a cavernous, anonymous experience feel personalized. The food was good, but man, was it expensive: my son ordered penne pasta with butter, for which they charged $17. $17 for what cost them about $.75. Outrageous. My daughter's penne with tomato sauce: $19. Insane. The ravioli I had was delicious, clearly house-made, but $30 for pasta is quite a lot. $17 for the fried baby artichokes (which were a bit chewy). Vanilla gelato was disappointing."

  • "Was led to this restaurant based on table availability pre theatre. Didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised in every way. Most important foo was excellent for all three of us. Service was 5 star and price was good for this area of town. Will definitely return ."

  • "Definately large portions. We split it and were full."

  • "Conveniently located to most Broadway show venues right on Times Square, the food here was respectable. Maybe a little high priced for what you received, but the convenience of being able to dine prior to an evening show and then walking to the show venue more than offset the slight higher than expected pricing."

  • "I thought the food was fresh and flavorful. My only negative comment was that they were out of two different steak choices so I had veal. Service very good. Nice place to go after the theatre😄"

  • "Anyone wanting to get dinner and be out in time for a show, go. We have been coming to Bond for a few years (even though the pricing increases have gotten BEYOND egregious), and the service has always been very, very, good. Not rushed. Not fussy. Just really good. The food has changed a bit since we were there a couple months ago.Don't order the artichoke salad. The Burratta is outstanding. made fresh daily and definitely not to be missed. The Tordelli Bolognese and dorado were great. Veggie antipasti has shrunk and price has increased. It's still delicious. Maitre D', Jeff was great. Don't like MGRS presenting a cake during our meal and asking us to save room for desert. Was a bit heavy handed."

  • "Looked for a restaurant that could serve a party of eight somewhat last minute, was becoming a needle in a haystack. Then I came upon Bond 45. We arrived at the restaurant a little earlier than expected. They were more than accomodating as they prepared our table. While waiting to be seated we were offered this delectable brittle and a glass of prosecco (can you say off to a nice start!!). Shortly after, we were seated and our waitress began to take our orders. I must say she was very helpful with our group of mixed tastes, she was able to provide suggestions for everyone. When the food arrived, lets say she was on the $$$. Everything tasted great. We all cleaned our plates!! Kudos to Bond 45 for a nice outing and great ending to our day!"

  • "The establishment gets an A+ for the friendly factor, as demonstrated from when we walked in the door to our exit. The service was excellent and the food was very good. A very positive experience and one that I would happily do again."

  • "The food was only fair. I was the only one at the table that enjoyed the meal. It was so noisy we could not hear each other speak."

  • "Wonderfully varied menu. Whole Dorade fish was excellent. Wife's liver was equally good. Fine service and terrific desserts. They know how to get you in and out prior to theater. Would recommend highly but experience is not cheap."

  • "Hands down the service is what makes this experience anything special. The maître d' particularly made my night memorable, helping me immediately with an issue I had. The waiter we had was also exceptionally kind, understanding, and willing to accommodate. Besides the service, the food was overpriced for what it was."

  • "I love the history behind Bond 45 and they do a nice job carrying that heritage forward- gives you a taste of Old New York in more ways than one. I love the antipasta bar- choose the dishes you like-they're displayed right as you walk in. The surroundings are vintage New York and you can almost see the old department store Bond's that once filled the space. Great for pre-theatre or after. I took a client visiting from out of town and he really got a kick out of our waiter from Brooklyn. It is a bit noisy, but if possible in a good way- we were able to have a professional conversation. there is lots of character and charm here. i hope they never lose it."

  • "My boyfriend and I came for dinner before seeing Idinia Menzel's one night show at Radio City. Everything was delicious!! The service was very good-- only had to wait a minute or so when are dishes were finished. The food was incredible! My boyfriend had the scallops and I would go back just for those. I had the ravioli and they were so yummy. Only thing I would pass on would probably be the dessert; overpriced and way too sweet. One complaint; it really ruins the spirit of a special dinner (especially considering we spent a couple hundred dollars on dinner) when the tables surrounding us showed up in tank tops (men), jeans and t-shirts. I really think they should consider instituting a dress code, one that at least prohibits beach attire."
