A word from Bond 45
Located in the heart of Times Square and the Theater District, and walking distance to every Broadway show, this landmark eatery treats you like family and offers up perfect steaks, homemade mozzarella and a fabulous antipasto bar.
Bond 45 feels like part of old New York, because it is. The Ziegfeld Follies played on our roof back when the building was the Hammerstein Theater.
The New York Post calls Bond 45 “An Italian steakhouse reincarnation of the old Jack Dempsey’s, which already tastes like a long running hit, and Hal Rubenstein of New York Magazine says it: ”Treats [you] like family while executing home-style cooking as solid as my mom’s."

Our group of six made a reservation at Bond 45 for 11:00 pm to eat after our 8:00 show. We had eaten at Bond before, so we already knew that our friends with is would enjoy it. Bond 45 is a great option post-show for quality dining when many restaurants are getting ready to close. Their lasagna is unique and worth getting. I recommend sharing it with another person...or two other people. It's huge. You won't be disappointed.

  • Not what I expected

This is for all intents and purposes a tourist trap. It is a very large dining room with very little atmosphere. The fried artichokes were delicious; however everything else was sub-par, in particular the 3-plate antipasta dish which is basically food that's been sitting in a display case all day re-heated in a microwave. I couldn't even eat it. My husband's steak was fine, but not great and I don't even remember what he had as an appetizer it was so underwhelming. With hundreds if not thousands of excellent restaurants in NYC there is no reason to eat here if you want to enjoy excellent food; atmosphere and wine for a comparable price.

We weren't sure what to expect from this place, since the facade is a bit "loud" and it's right in Times Square. But we wanted to go someplace before a show, and this seemed like a good spot. We were SO blown away by what a great experience we had. The food was wonderful, and our waiter Jeremiah was OUTSTANDING. Would definitely go back, especially the next time we go to a Broadway show.

Arrived for very early dinner, therefore, restaurant was empty. Cannot accurately determine noise level because of the early hour. A favorite dish of ours, which we get at their sister restaurant (Fiorello's) is what we both ordered. It was more outstanding than what we remembered at Fiorello's.

Let's just start with the Lasagna forget about the "stack of noodles your mother made" this home made fresh noodle will rock your world. I am hooked. Make sure you share. The scallops...out of this world. Staff very very informed and make sure you are constantly happy and FULL. Can't wait to visit again on my next trip to NYC.

Overpriced for nothing exceptional. While the food is good, it leaves much to be desired. Bread with no butter or oil for dipping, family style sides enough only for two, no offering of any sauce to dress meats. I could go on, but there's no point. I won't visit again and strongly encourage others to think about their options before visiting this establishment.

Overall, a disappointment. The food portions were large but quality was just okay. The service was very slow -- once they knew we were going to the theater, the meal was timed for 2.5 hours - even though I had two kids with me who wanted to walk around time square before the show. Other tables received their food before we even got a chance to order. Waiter was rude and distracted. The restaurant was so loud, that we couldn't even talk to others at our table.

I thought this would be a good place to take the senior managers that were visiting my office from out of town for a business lunch. Turned out to be a great choice. Everyone thought the location was perfect and the food was even better! the noise level was low enough that no one needed to shout to hear each other across that table. I will certainly consider Bond 45 again in the future.

My wife and I had dinner before a show and we had a fantastic night. Based on time of our reservation the staff asked if we had to be out by certain time for a show... we did and they were able to get us the entire meal without ever feeling rushed! And the food is wonderful... the antipasto selection to share was great, especially for vegetarian. The homemade pasta was delicious... the lasagna special is crazy good but is easily enough for 2. All in all, we would highly recommend!

Bond 45 was recommended by my niece, who frequents NY. The atmosphere was lively and yet we could carry on a conversation without yelling or asking each other to repeat what was said. Our reservations were for a later time. We arrived a lot earlier. We were seated immediately. The vegan in our party raved about the Tofu Parmesan after stating that she hated Tofu. The portions were a little smaller than we are use to, when we dine out, but then we usually taking half home. We were so hungry by the time we arrived that we forgot to post pictures of our meals, as we usually do. But we did post our location and that we enjoyed dinner on our facebook page. And the Chocolate chip cookies hot out of the oven was a nice touch. Minister Flo-B

The host made sure the waiter knew we were pre theater. The menu accommodated a gluten free diet. The branzino was perfectly prepared and the signature deconstructed lasagna was superb. Known for a noisy place, we had asked for and was seated at a quiet location. All in all a great place for pre theater and varied needs. The service and management catered individually which you rarely find in such a large restauant. Kudos.

The location is great right in the middle of the theater district. We were attending a Saturday night show at 8 pm and they recommended a 5:30 reservation. We were seated promptly and enjoyed a stress free dinner not having to watch to clock. Service was great. Very friendly. Prices were a bit high. while the veal chop parm that my wife ordered was delicious and super sized, I thought $50 was pretty expensive for it. It didn't come with any sides such as pasta or vegetables. Overall, I would go back for a special occasion.
