Nice find in downtown Valpo. Bistro-type setting and menu. Salads were especially good, but main courses were also tasty. There was a piano player, which would have been a nice touch, but became too loud when combined with the noise from several large groups that were dining as well. Wine list offered a nice, if limited, selection of bottles across a variety of regions. (Although a few prices looked more like New York, NY than Valpo, IN.) But overall a pleasant dining experience.

Abby was our server, and she was out of this world!! She made great recommendations, was happy to answer all questions, and was extremely attentive. The food was phoenominal... I had the lobster risotto and my date had a steak. Both were amazing. You MUST end with the Bananas Foster... they don't flambe it tableside, but the dessert is well worth it!!

Having been to the original Bon Femme in Merrillville, I was not sure exactly what to expect. In short, we were "wowed." The service was excellent, the food absolutely wonderful and the wine list extensive. Portions were generous, the servers were knowledgeable and attentive (despite having to tend bar, play host/hostess, tend to outdoor guests and service other tables). Overall an excellent dining experience. We both had glasses of malbec, paired with an amazing tortilla soup and poached pear salad. The entree was a scrumptious lobster risotto with generous portions of lobster throughout and topped with lobster in the shell to boot. For dessert, we took home the peanut butter chocolate pie. Decadent. Go! Now! You will not be disappointed.

My first experience was not the best. We had reservations, arrived right on time, were seated, bread and water brought, and then nothing for 20 minutes. We finally spoke up, after people who came in after us were brought their wine.
The house did apologize, and gave us a glass of wine free. Our food was good, but it is quite unsettling when you are totally ignored for 20 minutes.
