We enjoyed the food but we would have preferred the waiter leave us alone and give us time to review the menu instead of trying to interview us about food preferences and then try to upsell the most expensive things on the menu. His service crossed the line from attentive to instrusive.

With a setting that compares with most mid-town restaurants, Bombay Palace offers a fairly modern, sober but still strong indian atmosphere. A good "a la carte" menu is usually left asside to focus on the prix-fixe buffet. It offers ample choices, for vegetarian and carnivor alike, all from classic indian cuisine. The quality is consistent from visit to visit, and never misses the mark.

Arrived at the restaurant late, having to wait on line for the lounge because security didn't understand I had a reservation and was not there for the lounge. After getting into the establishment there was yet another wait to be seated although the place wasn't even half full. The server that took our order made us wait to order and was not knowledgeable about the food. Never again.

Consistently reliable, Bombay Palace offers one of the best Indian buffet lunches around. Great location, pleasing decor, and a delectable variety of dishes. It mildly irked me that, at 1:30 PM, some of the items were almost empty and were not refilled, or refilled slowly and partially. Service can be pokey. Just the same, if you are craving the flavors of India at an affordable price, Bombay Palace is a no-brainer. I've been going there for decades, and they've only dumbed it down a little bit!
