  • "advertised a Easter buffet but no special acknowledgement or amenities. Not an enthusiastic staff with families or children. waiter was hardly available although he stood around quite a bit...was not a friendly wait staff and hardly removed dirty plates from the buffet. I will not be returning to this restaurant."

  • "I was disappointed to see people in shorts and flip=flops. I did not expect this at Bombay Club. Completely out of character for this restaurant. The business dress code should be better enforced."

  • "Three of us attended Bombay Club for Easter Brunch. Definitely not a traditional Easter spread but delicious. Only complaint I have is that the staff was a little snooty and maybe said 5 words to us in the hour we spent there. Luckily, he kept our champagne glasses full, though."

  • "Loved the energy of the restaurant. I especially liked that the piano player played the whole time we were there. The service was excellent. Our waiter was there when you needed him, but did not hover over the table. He seemed to know when he was needed & was right there at the right time. Food was also great. Real fun place. would highly recommend it."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at the Bombay Club right after getting married in a civil ceremony. The service was impeccable. As soon as we sat down, two glasses of complementary champagne arrived at our table. The food was spectacular, with each dish having its own unique flavor. Highly recommended."

  • "A 5 star experience. The food is superb, service attentive, and you don't have to shout at your date. Classy ambiance without being stuffy. Can't wait to go back."

  • "If you want to have lunch with someone in which you can engage in meaningful conversation inside a very elegant setting then this is a great place for that. The delicious food makes it all the greater."

  • "This is our third or fourth time visiting Bombay Club, and every time we go there we make an attempt to try something new. My wife and I love their different spin on Indian food, giving it a contemporary flare. The Brussels Sprout vegetarian entree was amazing, as is their Daal Makhani, which has been slowly cooked for 16 hours. The Daal Makhani feels so buttery and smooth, and so deep full of flavors, that I wish one day I was just invited to shadow the cook who makes this dish along with other vegetarian entrees. I'm no chef, but I like to cook, and would love to shadow the force behind such successful and amazingly tasty plates being put out by Bombay Club."

  • "I enjoyed my lunch at the Bombay Club. Hadn't been there for over 5 years. The decor is elegant, the dining areas are quiet to allow for conversation and the service was very good. I was a bit disappointed in the food - I thought it rather bland. But then I've been dining at Rasika and I like their food much better. It's still a good dining experience - especially if you want an "adult" experience."

  • "It really was a shame that our waiter was not properly trained. And the person who brought our food served it with her hand over the food. There just needs to be training of servers there. The food itself was outstanding, but the service really does leave a not so good impression."

  • "It's always nice to go to a restaurant and experience 5 star service. But when you go to that restaurant and get 5 star service AND amazing food? Well, its a rare treat. I will say that the crowd skews a tad....old. we were the only people under 50 for the most part (although there were people our age at the small bar). So if you're looking for a place to be scene, this isn't it. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine, excellent wine and excellent service, than I highly recommend Bombay Club."

  • "Gorgeous restaurant, lovely service, and best of all delicious Indian food. We were afraid we were a little too casual with no jacket/tie or suit, but decided that we'd go on in anyway and are so glad we did. We were quite comfortable in our business casual attire, and the the food was exceptional."

  • "Lovely venue, food was delicious and staff was friendly and accommodating. When they found out we were celebrating a birthday they even brought a special birthday desert/drink over to our table. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I gave it four stars because there is always room for improvement, but we left feeling full and glad that we chose Bombay Club for our one dinner in DC."

  • "The Bombay Club is great when you want to experience more than the usual lunch offerings of salads and sandwiches. The food is delicious. My colleagues and I are working our way through the menu and have not found anything that we truly disliked. Highly recommend ordering the Samundari Thali, which provides a sampling of about 5-6 dishes and includes a grilled salmon. This dish can easily be shared by 2 people. The Mango Creme Brulee is a nice finish. Our server was exceptional. He was able to answer all questions and was attentive without being obtrusive."

  • "We chose to take advantage of a warm breezy April day and dine outdoors at the Bombay Club for lunch. While missing the English club atmosphere of the Bombay Club's elegant dining room, the cuisine did not disappoint. Highly recommended are the following; appetizers - Krispy Kale Chat and the Goan Masala Crab; bread - Onion Basil Naan; Entrees - five alarm Green Chicken and the Tandoori Trout. Service sitting outside was a little below the usual standard here, but I attribute this to the fact that there were only two tables populated, but overall The Bombay Club is a delight!"

  • "Elegant Indian place next to the White House. Great Indian food with the hint of fusion. Tables are kept at a distance to ensure privacy and service is attentive yet not overbearing. Beautiful venue and ideal for a dinner date or a special occasion. Good portions of food and considering that it is a high end restaurant, it provides good value for money. The Dal Makhni, Tandoori scallops and Tandoori salmon are worth a special mention."

  • "Bombay Club's food, environment, service and staff represent a very high quality rated restaurant, counted as one of the very few in the Washington DC Metro area"

  • "Excellent food. We had palak tiki masala chholi as appetizer and fish moulee as enters both outstanding. Service was excellent. Very professional. Beautiful restaurant"

  • "This was great, this is a good place as you can actually talk, it comfortable, great service not too pushy, and you can talk with some privacy. Perfect."

  • "I've been to Bombay Club many times before, but apparently not when every table was booked. The noise was overwhelming. My friends and I couldn't hear each other, we couldn't hear our server and vice versa. My two friends really enjoyed their duck and lamb entrees. I'm a vegetarian, and unluckily chose a rather dull treatment of Brussels sprouts. That plus naan failed to satisfy. We were still hungry and tired of saying "what?" in convesation. We headed to Krispy Kreme for desert. Sorry."

  • "I love getting the vegetarian thali because you get to try a bunch of dishes. Everything here is always delicious and presented beautifully, and the service is so amazingly friendly (better than a couple years ago when the servers were all kind of haughty)."

  • "Once again we chose Bombay Club for a special occasion and were not disappointed. The decor and ambience are lovely. The service is professional and knowledgable. And the food is excellent, for all fans of Indian cuisine. They have unusual items not available on most indian menus. The bread is particularly delicious without being greasy. Be sure to order the chutneys as they compliment the foods nicely especially if you order spicy dishes. If you are celebrating a birthday, sit near the piano and they play Happy Birthday when they bring your complementary dessert."

  • "We went and had a lovely time and the food was excellent and unusual - not your standard chicken marsala, etc. But it would have been nice to have a lamb or goat dish and it wasn't brunch. There was an egg curry (hard boiled eggs in a very tasty sauce) but that's not breakfast. It was lunch, a very nice lunch but lunch just the same. Also the dessert was weak - just a pudding and some so so fruit. Dessert is usually not a strong suit at an Indian restuarant but you would think that the Bombay Club could do better. If you are advertising a brunch then there should be 3 courses - breakfast - lunch - dessert. Still hte food was great there was a piano playing and it is all very elegant."

  • "Bombay Club is a great place to reacquaint with friends at Sunday brunch over savory Indian fare and never-ending champagne (Cava). The wait staff is attentive and the food is beautifully prepared. My only quibble is that, as an Amritsari fish lover, I firmly hold it should NEVER be salmon!"

  • "I am from India and I can tell you the Bombay Club delivers on a truly authentic Indian experience. Amazing food that tastes like the food you would get at a 5 star hotel in India."

  • "100% better than Rasika. However, at brunch I thought there would be more options and at least maybe one lamb or goat dish. Overall the food was decent, but I expected a little bit more flavor. Perhaps just because being Bangladeshi, our food it's a little bit different, I expect other Indian food have just as much spice and flavor to it. He was disappointed at the paneer felt hard. The kheer was yum, but maybe needed a lil more cardamon."

  • "I took a friend to Bombay Club as a treat for her birthday. The experience was outstanding, as always. Bombay Club never fails to deliver in terms of service, ambience and of course, the food. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bartender even made a cocktail which was not on the menu for my friend and named it after her. (We know this because it was named on the bill). I will always return to Bombay Club for special occasions or just because."

  • "I went with a small group of friends for a week night dinner. Our server was fantastic and made excellent recommendations. We really enjoyed our appetizers and two our of three of the dishes we shared for our main meal."

  • "This continues to be one of my favorite, probably the favorite place for lunch. From the welcome at the door, the sophisticated service, i.e. know when you engage and when not too, to food that is always consistently excellent, to the final thank you as you walk out the door. Bombay Club is the full package, consistently!"

  • "Impeccable service, lively ambiance, excellent Indian cuisine. Thoroughly enjoyable. Noise level a little higher than I prefer."
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "I love Indian food and this was a good experience, but fell a little short of great in my mind. I love the experience of food and great service interactions, and while my family had a good meal, nice service it fell short of its potential. They offered extra spicy sauce with the duck, great add, but as we were ordering dessert she walked away from our table abruptly after one order - so we shared :)."

  • "The kale salad appetizer is unique and not to be missed. The the spinach patties and the aloo tikka were enjoyable. The dahi burtha (broiled eggplant curry with a dash of curds) and the punjabi khadi were subtle in spices and presented well. The gulab jamoon dessert was one of the best. The wine list, though not extensive, had good uncommon selections. An excellent dining experience!"

  • "We have been to Bombay Club many times. The food is outstanding and the ambiance is just lovely. This is a "white linen" restaurant that gets all the small touches right in terms of flatware, waitstaff uniforms, china etc. Service has been surly the past couple of times we've been there. The waiter seems to think we are a big inconvenience, dumps the food off and flees. Good thing we didn't anything extra or have any issues once we got the food, because then he was gone. Maybe his English wasn't very good but in that case he shouldn't be a waiter here."

  • "We have gone to Bombay Club repeatedly over the years, and never been disappointed. The food, service and ambiance are all elegant, and the setting in a comfortable dining room with innovative dishes, in which one can actually have a conversation without yelling, is unfortunately, all too rare in DC. The chef prepared a special vegan dish for our guests, which was both delicious and appreciated."

  • "Even on a Sunday night, they feature a live piano player improvising jazz. Carpeted room, tall ceilings, quiet, nice space between tables, attentive staff, coat check doesn't give out a number, just remembers your party of coats. Food is authentic exquisitely prepared Indian cuisine. I'm returning soon!"

  • "We met friends we hadn't seen in a very long time at The Bombay Club for dinner. The meal was superb and the service and ambiance outstanding. We were far enough away from other diners and were able to talk in a normal voice to be heard. We all had a wonderful and relaxing experience."
