  • "Had a great experience during the restaurant week in Raleigh. Food was outstanding and the drinks were delicious. We had a party of 4 that split the order between 2 salmon and 2 filet dishes. The taste was incredible. Dessert was amazing as well. The chocolate torte was tasty and same with the bread pudding. Would highly recommend this establishment and will be returning in 2 weeks to explore the menu further. I hope this helps!"

  • "Amazing restaurant and I enjoyed it better than when the Mint occupied the space. We went here for my wife's Birthday. The food was especially good but what really made the evening was our waiter, Darrin. Perfect service without overdoing it so we could have this intimate dining experience. We had the Chef's special for the main course which was the lobster with scallops. Perfect. For an appetizer you must try the crab cakes. Dinner was complete by having the special bread pudding with caramel and chocolate. Don't wait to go here!"

Our server was Adam and he was quite attentive without hovering. He knew the menu well and was very upbeat and personable. The food was excellent and the downtown ambience entertaining and vibrant.   • "This restaurant was trendy and vibrant. The menu was broad with a variety of choices to suit everyone's taste. We chose a special (Chilean Sea Bass $34) that was outstanding in every respect including a crab cake and sweet potato puree. My wife had the short ribs that were prepared to perfection and the best we have had in this area. The wine choices by the glass were good, but I thought pricey for the 4 oz. pour. The service was excellent and timely. I would recommend this restaurant to foodies, but remembering that the prices were moderate to high for this area."

  • "A bar yes... Resturant not even close. Loud like a bar not at all what you would expect when your paying 50-75 dollars per person. They advertise valet parking but it's non existent .. Food is ok, but don't expect anything more than a disappointment ... They don't even bring you bread to nibble on while they try and get things organized. It must be the location... Much like the list preceding Bolt.. I doubt this will last ... Very disappointing"

  • "This restaurant is right in downtown Raleigh. Not the easiest parking location but worth the search for a great dining experience. Unfortunately, the night we dined (before a performance at Progress Energy Center), the cocktail crowd was heavy and noisy. Dining could be improved by some sort of partition between the bar area and dining room. Otherwise, everything is great including superb service. Menu was truly outstanding with excellent appetizers and entrees. Highly recommend the onion soap, lobster bisque, and the seafood dishes. Hard to find gourmet seafood that says I am really fresh!"

  • "We were seated immediately when we showed up for our reservation and that was the peak of the service for the evening. I sat on the outside edge of the booth and could barely hear the waiter all night despite an average noise level all night. He didn't know the draft beer selection or the specials for the evening. He repeated our drink orders back incorrectly, then came back to ask again what one of us wanted to drink. He did the same thing after taking our meal order. He had to come back and ask what 2 of the 4 of us had ordered. We never got our salads or crab cakes, yet they still showed up on our bills. The food that we did get was delicious, and I would come back for that. I'd just ask to be in a different server's section if I do."

The experience was very enjoyable, the food very good and the service friendly although they have a way to go in this category to be first class.   • "Our visit was while we were attending the 4th of July celebration. We love the food at Bolt & didn't want the food truck fare offered outside. I was surprised to see the menu was different then the usual, offering hamburgers, fries & shrimp tacos, I was not disappointed with the elevated street fare. The table started with fried calamari (a bit oily at the bottom) & the ahi tuna both so yummy. I ordered the shrimp tacos they were Awesome! Hubby got Shrimp & grits and our daughter had the lobster mac & cheese. We finished by sharing a key lime pie too sweet for me but the family ate it up. Bolt always offers fresh food cooked perfectly served by a very good and friendly waitstaff. We all enjoyed dinner & the fireworks that followed."

  • "I had a difficult time finding an open restaurant in the triangle on a Monday and so close to the 4th of July. So kudos right off the bat to this place. Bolt Bistro cuisine for me was an eclectic spin on modern American fare. Yes they have steaks and chops, but I really don't see this place as a 'steakhouse'. The location and ambiance of this spot is outstanding. Right in the hear of downtown with a modern, open feel. The wait staff and especially the hostess were extremely friendly and their management was accommodating and welcomed us on a Monday with open arms. I really enjoyed their bar and wine list, with local brews and interesting takes on some red wine, their entrees were unique and delicious."

We are happy to report that it was as good this time as the first, which because we brought friends who had never been before, was a relief. You never know when you recommend a restaurant if it will turn out as good as you say but Bolt overachieved. The fresh creative drinks, the menu specials, and the service were all wonderful. We will definitely be back and bring more friends again. Thank you Bolt for a wonderful dining experience."

  • "the server was very knowledgeable, lobster Bisque was creamy & flavorful and the salad crisp. The scallops were cooked to perfection, the Lamb was outstanding with the addition of sweet potatoes, the steak was cooked to desired doneness. with desert coffee was served in a french press at the table, chocolate torte we did have was excellent. We will be back it is hard to find a restaurant that treats you as a guest & you walk out the door thinking wow that was great. The water glasses were kept full, the silverware was replaced at each course that isnt something i have had done in Raleigh at any restaurant unlike some of the other city's we have dined in. The have a nice selection of wine & the bar had a good selection of top shelf scotch."

Looks the same, but our meal was wonderful, start to finish, w everything well-prepared, nicely presented, & very flavorful. Nice, varied menu accommodating all tastes. All the staff (who all seemed new since last time) appeared extremely sincere & conscientious in wanting to assure an ideal dining experience. They succeeded in grand style. "
