Lunch with us is perfect for the busy downtown professional. Bolt offers a new menu with salads, unique sandwiches, and entrees all priced under $13. Our professional staff understands the time restraint and will have you back to the office in an hour.

Our modern, industrial space is fit for an afternoon gathering with an offering of small bites, 25 + wines by the glass, local craft beer, and our signature cocktail list. Check out our new Happy Hour for $6.95 menu Monday-Thursday 5-7 pm.

  • "Dined at BOLT on April 16th and had a wonderful experience. Wasn't very crowded, so service was good but could have been better given the lack of diners. Kitchen was very accommodating to special requests, but all the food did not come out at the same time. Soup, salads and entrees were very good...lamb chops, scallops and prime rib were all very much enjoyed by our group of four. Desserts were OK...just OK...nothing to write home about."

The staff were attentive and friendly, the food exemplary and the manager William took the time to make us feel welcome. We started off with very fresh PEI Mussels & Frites followed by an unusually tasteful Caesar Salad. My Austrialian Lamb Chops were prepared to perfection and my wife loved her Shrimp & Grits. This is upscale dining at a moderate cost."

  • "We decided to take some out-of-town guests here this past Monday evening. Happy Hour was in effect when we arrived at 5:00, so we first took advantage of that. Then at 5:30 we were escorted to our table. Every one of us came away with the opinion that Bolt is now at the top of our list for future dining-out experiences. This is due in part to our outstanding table service and in part to the highly satisfying taste of the dishes we selected."

  • "Having never been here, my wife and I chose this spot last minute to take friends to. The wait-staff were on top of their game with great knowledge of the wine and food menus. The food was amazing from both a taste and presentation persepctive and we were actually thrilled to have left-overs to eat later. While it was a little pricey, it was such a great treat to find such a great place to eat."

  • "We had dinner there on a Saturday night early. We were seated immediately, but had to wait a bit for the server. Once she arrived, however, the meal moved along at a good pace. One of the specials that night was a lobster bisque - to die for! We also ordered the flounder special with a Mediterranean sauce, and it was melt-in-your-mouth. The shrimp and grits was okay, but as one of the least expensive items on the menu, worth it. We also enjoyed the bread pudding for dessert. Overall, a very good experience. We would recommend and return."

Calamari rarely wows me personally and this was the case here as well. A bit pricey for me to be a frequent diner but overall I would recommend BOLT."

  • "Chris and Chad were great at checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. David (the owner) always has a smile on his face and is happy to come ask you how everything is going. He really wants to make sure you are enjoying yourself and the food. The first time we went to Bolt was just for dessert and David sat and talked with us for at least 10 minutes to chat and discuss the inspiration behind the restaurant and more. This time we came for dinner and the dinner menu did not disappoint. They even took the coupon we gave them even though it was for the wrong restaurant (we didn't realize it until we got back to the car and looked in our book). It is definitely a new favorite for downtown Raleigh and we will be back."

  • "We were celebrating with my husband and teenagers. We were met and greeted warmly. Our waitress Summer was attentive and sweet. Service was excellent, loved the windows, lighting, oil case on tables, and enough noise the we felt comfortable carrying on a conversation with lots of laughter without feeling we were disturbing anyone. We were asked by two different manager/owner looking people how things were going. Food was delicious. It wasn't cheap. With 4 of us, one appetizer, 3 glasses of wine and one dessert, with tip was $175. But it was a wonderful splurge."

  • "My family doesn't live in Raleigh, so when they visit dining out is something we enjoy. The food and atmosphere at Bolt were great. But, after the main course our waiter brought us our bill without asking if we wanted dessert, which is my favorite part of the meal and had planned on ordering. After we signed the bill, we continued to catch up while finishing our wine when our waiter told us we needed to leave because he needed to turn his table, but we could hang out in the lounge. I didn't realize I had signed up for a time slot and didn't appreciate being asked to leave after spending $200 plus on dinner. As much as my family loves amazing food, we also value the dining experience, so we not be returning or recommending this place."

  • "Overall we had a relatively enjoyable dining experience however I made a reservation for 8:30pm on Saturday night as I figured it would be fairly busy, when we arrived we were told that a table was being cleared and we would be seated shortly, we then proceeded to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. Additionally, a member of the management staff sat at the table next to us downing drinks and socializing intermittently throughout our meal. At one point I watched him down a drink and then proceed to come over to our table a few moments later asking how everything was, smelling of alcohol. I am on the fence as to whether we will go back or not, the food was good but overall I was not impressed."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for Valentines day. Had an 8:30 reservation, arrived about ten minutes early, wasn't seated until almost 9:00. The menu was changed for Valentines weekend and it was VERY limited. They also raised the prices for the weekend. The food was great though. Our waitress did a great job as well."

Our waiter, although very nice and polite and whose name was never given, was not overly attentive, and/or seemed new. He did not really know how the specials were prepared and we had to prompt full descriptions. We had tickets for a show and although we allowed plenty of time so as not need to hurry our meal, I'm not sure if we would have had enough time had we not flagged our waiter down to retrieve the bil and cash out. I would definitely go back because it was a very nice overall experience, but know that service is a bit slow and allow for this if you have a subsequent destination."

  • "My husband and I celebrated Valentines Day at Bolt after 2 previous great experiences and left impressed yet again! The experience was superb from the greeting to the romatic ambiance and of course the food was absolutely superb! I will absolutely be visiting again and recommending to family and friends. We started off with the calamari which is a step above the rest and includes fried pineapples and banana peppers as a sweet and sour bonus! I had the filet which was cooked to perfection. Ended with a delicious chocolate torte and a sweet added touch of chocolate covered strawberries offered by Bolt For vday! Love this place!!"

  • "Very Nice Restaurant. Service was outstanding. We arrived early for our reservation and were taken directly to our seats without having to wait any time. Food was excellent. Loved the architecture and ambiance. Although it was a little tight inside the dining area we were able to enjoy our meal and conversation in private without having to hear the conversation of the table next to us. I will recommend Bolt to all my friends for a special night out spot. Can't wait to go there in the spring and summertime and enjoy the outdoor seating. Love the location as well."

  • "It is always an adventure to go out to the world of Prix Fixe menus on Valentines day. My wife and I both agree the people watching is at it best. Folks that never set foot into a restaurant all year long, come out in droves. We also consider it a great test to see if a restaurant can handle the horde of patrons and still maintain a decent operational pace. Bolt, did a good job with the food this Friday. Regardless of the ice storm that hit, the hordes of Valentines day, and a Friday night all converging into one week, the food was really good. The wait staff just needs some more training. I would not call this place "fine dining" by any stretch, but the prices would suggest so."

  • "My wife & I went during Restaurant Week. You expect a limited menu w/smaller than usual portions. The green salad & wedge salads were good and normal sized. My wife had the filet mignon & I the rack of lamb. Both were ordered medium well, but only the lamb was cooked to that order, the filet was under-cooked. The sides were delicious. The bananas foster bread pudding & the chocolate torte were delicious. Wines by the glass were typical and a little pricey. Staff was attentive without hovering and saw to all of our needs. Very good experience overall."

  • "We had a great dinner with friends during Restaurant Week. The rack of lamb was excellent, garlic potatoes were just right, the filets were prepared exactly as ordered. Service was a bit harried due to the numbe of people there, but the owners (both) talked with us multiple times to see that everything was to our liking. We definately will go back for a special dinner or just a drink when downtown."

  • "We dined here on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week. If the menu and service was designed to showcase what Bolt does best then we won't be back. We must have been served by 6 different waiters, had to chase our wine, bread, and sides that should have been on the entree plate, but instead came out late on a side plate. We're not dessert people, but we were offered two sides instead. I ordered potatoes au gratin and green beans. The serving was two slices of potato! That and a slither of salmon. Really? For a $100+ dinner, this place does not deliver on the goods. Sorry."
