Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great dinner and wines to match. Our server was very eager and knowledgable with regard to nice wine pairing. The wine selection is small but good. Lots of local gems."

  • "Great for a after performance dinner, close to ferry. Service was super, food hit the spot. Wife said the chowder was best ever. The fried chicken was tasty."

  • "It's difficult to carry on a conversation due to the noise level"

  • "This was my first time visiting BOKA restaurant, and I would go back again. The drinks are good, the food is great, and it has a fun vibe. Sometimes the music is a little loud for conversation, but it's good music!"

  • "We read reviews and heard about the brunch so we decided to meet some friends Sunday and brunch was very good. The food was excellent and the service was very good. We opted to sit outside, cute patio but street noise at times was loud (summer tourist traffic), however it was a beautiful day and between noise it was a great area to enjoy a meal. No views other than some historic Seattle buildings but we were there for the food. $5 Sunday brunch Mimosa's and all local beer on tap. All reasonably priced."

  • "My wife and I celebrated her birthday. We were seated immediately and ordering was very flexible. The flavors were excellent and service was greater. Thanks for a lovely evening."

  • "Boka's is a great place for lunch. A creative menu and very good service. We had the salmon and it was delicious."

  • "Boka was located across the street from our hotel. It was a great surprise find. The dinner was outstanding and the service great. We returned for brunch but the service was not so great. The food, however was yummy."

  • "We keep coming back and were never disappointed. The food and service are outstanding."

  • "THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS FANTASTIC. THE FOOD PRICES WERE A LITTLE HIGH BUT THE AMBIENCE MORE THAN MADE UP FOR THE HIGH PRICE. THEY DIDNT CARRY THE WINES THAT MY WIFE AND I PREFER (CHATEAU STE MICHELLE RIESLING AND MERLOTS). OUR WAITRESS (ALI) WAS OUTSTANDING AND WORTH THE $25 DOLLAR TIP... SHE REALLY TOOK CARE OF US AND ALWAYS HAD A BEAUTIFUL SMILE."

  • "We dined at BOKA with relatives visiting from the east coast. Our server was friendly and helpful. Great Happy Hour menu. Starter salads were soooo fresh - the Caesar was great! Halibut and scallops were cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were generous. The cherry mousse dessert was really delicious. We will definitely visit BOKA again. And FREE valet parking when dining at BOKA. "

  • "Friendly hostesses, great brunch food, delicious mimosas! Our server did a decent enough job taking our order in a timely manner and stuff buuuuut she barely said a word to us the whole time. She was very quiet and polite. A little "how's your day" small talk is the very least I say when I'm serving someone in my restaurant. "

  • "this is more bar than the restaurant. food was great, service as well. wish there was more selection for brunch but what i had was really good"

  • "Boka is convenient and has been great when meeting friends after work. The atmosphere is relaxed, food enjoyable and the service always excellent. Your valet parking service is a welcomed perk when dining. "

  • "Loved this place. I wear hearing aids and most restaurants are so noisy I can barely have a conversation. This was perfect. Enough background chatter to feel a sense of comaraderie but quiet enough to have a good conversation. The food was delicious, and the prices reasonable. I will definitely be back."

  • "The food is, as they promise, fresh and well cooked. It was a treat to have a salad that oozed freshness, and the right amount and type of dressing. The farro was a tasty touch, although farro doesn't have to feature in so many dishes :P Our server was amazing, and the wine list decent enough. Only complaint is the ambience - Boka is neither sports bar, nor the kind of romantic restaurant we'd've wished for. It tries to be both, and ends up feeling a little... weird. Our quest for romantic ambience didn't work out, but, the food was great and the service very warm. We won't be back if we visit Seattle, but, for a one-time thing, definitely yes! "

  • "We went here as is was suggested as a good restaurant with gluten free options. The hostess was rude and we were concerned because she made a point to say that they didn't have a gluten free menu so we were concerned we made a bad decision, but our server was wonderful and made a point to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The prices were very reasonable for the meal we had and our experience was redeemed by her attention to detail and positive attitude. I only gave it 4 stars because of the rudeness of the hostess."

  • "The food was good but the service was hot and cold. My dissappointment was the lack of flexibility with the menu. We dined at a few different establishments during restaurant week. We are light eaters and had given up deserts so we generally ordered from the main menu. There were two items on the fixed menu that looked wonderful. Because we could not eat the deserts (part of the fixed price) I asked if the salmon could be served ala carte. Unfortunately the waiter explained there were no substitutions and the salmon was only on the pre-fixed menu. I thought about ordering the three course fixed and just leaving the other two courses. The lack of flexibility left a bad taste on the overall experience. "

  • "Good for Happy Hour food and drinks, good prices. Service was not very good, he mentioned that he had a 12-top that was keeping him busy, but even when that big table left, we did not get much attention. Had to ask for drink refills. The good thing is - you can valet park downtown with 3 hours free! That was great since it was pouring down rain! Food was ok, the dessert and the happy hour red wine was the best! "

  • "The atmosphere is super modern, the music was ethnic influenced and rather loud, but the food was decadent and delicious and the service was excellent."

  • "Really enjoyed our cocktails, and our waitress was very accommodating when I asked to move to another table. (I never do that, but they had us in a 2 top shoved next to a large party when 4 tops were open around the corner). The food was quite tasty and well timed, but I wouldn't necessarily come here again for a special occasion/romantic meal. One complaint was that my husband's filet was supposed to come with foie gras, and when the waitress brought it out, she set it down and told us they were out of it. No apology, substitution (although, you can't really sub something for foie) or change on the bill. Not the end of the world, just awkward. Long story a little less long, I'd pick this place for drinks and an occasional late night meal."

  • "Taking advantage of restaurant week gave me the perfect opportunity to try BOKA. My friend and I were not disappointed. The food was very good, tasty combinations and done to our specification. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Overall a very nice experience. Will come again."

  • "My business date didn't show up for our lunch. Despite a pretty full restaurant the staff didn't begrudge me the prime table. When I gave up and ordered a salad the hostess and then waiter couldn't have been more attentive/gracious. The salad nicoisr was excellent and I told my apologetic stander-upper that she can take me to Boka next week to atone."

  • "I had to ask multiple times to get my tea and I saw 4 servers standing around and talking- it doesn't make the restaurant look very good. I did pick up later which I could understand, but at the time (11:45am) there were hardly any full tables. Our server was Baron - and he stopped by twice. The expediter/runner actually brought our food and my tea, asked us if we wanted pepper, followed up with us - he did a nice job. He saved our experience, in my opinion. I usually have a very pleasant experience at Boka and that is why I recommend it."

  • "We were staying at hotel 1000 and wanted to go have dinner. The server was terrible. We were looking for a nice relaxed dinner and it felt like the server was trying to turn the table from the second we sat down. The food was fine, nothing spectacular, but nothing bad."

  • "Got the Filet Mignon. One piece was cooked in a mushroom sauce and the other was cooked in a crab sauce and both were delicious. One of the best steaks I've had in a while."

  • "Tried the Top Sirloin - it was cooked perfectly, presentation was wonderful, and it was delicious. The chimichurri sauce was the perfect amount of flavor on top too. Really appreciated free valet parking while dining as well."

  • "We frequent BOKA because of the great food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful staff. The fried chicken is amazing! My husband loves the salmon and scallops. Their happy hour food is really good, and the prices make everything better. We don't drink, so I can't comment on the alcohol or their selection. But, our friends (who often join us) are always happy with whatever drinks they order."

  • "Menu is boring. Prices are not comparable to the value you receive. Food is average."
    Dined on 2/24/2014
  • "You took away the ahi tuna nicoise salad and created a very poor tossed salad replacement without making that very clear on your menu. We used to visit regularly for this salad. We are now back to The Brooklyn, who makes it very well."

  • "Second time I've had lunch at Boka recently, both times with special friends. I'll be back and recommend it to others. Interesting menu, pretty room, good service, excellent food. Plus, valet parking! And bottled water in the car when you leave! Just perfect."

  • "We had a reservation for 6:30 and when we arrived we were promptly seated. They gave my girlfriend a rose for valentines day and it was nice of them to do that gesture. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. The real star of the night was the food - we got appetizers, we each got an order of the filet mignon, and the lovers sundae was AMAZING. We will definitely come back - my girlfriend and I want to make it an annual tradition to come back to BOKA for valentines day cause it was just so good."

  • "Contrived club vibe with far too many out-of-towners looking for the Seattle scene - noisy, taking photos, drinking sugary and overpriced cocktails. The food was mediocre at best and at near $25-30 per entree, wildly overpriced. I would never return were it not for my Passport card that made the entrees at least BOGO. The waiter was nice and definitely added to the club-vibe, but there was little in the way of "over and above" customer service."

  • "Caveat: Valentine's Day & it was packed. Though big business night for restaurants, quality & atmosphere still important. They expanded dining room to include the bar: loud; people put on high bar chairs & tables; sports-bar atmosphere w/ two large TVs offering all the romance of Sochi Olympics; service very slow; food expensive for bar setting ($30-40 per entrée); & food not good (weird flavor profiles—truffled beet risotto?; great raw tuna but drowned in bad sauce; cod nicely cooked but filled w/ bones; shrimp bisque microwaved w/ bowl super hot but soup lukewarm w/ yucky dried skin on top and had lots of thickening agent in it, almost inedible). Wine selection so-so. Being put in bar than dining area felt like bait & switch. No-go again."
