The lunch we had was delicious. Salads for two of the ladies and a delicious turkey and brie sandwich for me. I would have preferred the sandwich not to be open-faced but it tasted great!

  • Terrible Food
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013
    Dined on 10/6/2014
I have been visiting your restaurant for a few years. I suspect you have changed management as the food has gradually deteriorated over the past year or so. For example, you used to have a terrific nicoise salad. Then you took out the seared ahi and put in a cheaper, curly tuna concoction. Now you have eliminated it entirely. Your caesar salad is very sparse and tasteless. I have given you several chances during this decline, have made suggestions to the wait staff and am now throwing in the towel and not returning.

Boka was a convenient location downtown Seattle. We requested a quiet table and were seated in a nice booth in the back. Service was very attentive. Their menu has a wide variety of items. My nephew eats there often so he recommended it and we were delighted with our meals. He said the fish tacos which he ordered are excellent. The Cob salad I wondered was the best I've every eaten as it had a delightful dressing and was just the right size. I loved the presentation, quality and choice of ingredients. We were on a tight schedule and the food was quick so we were finished on time.

My husband and I love this place. We have dinner here every month especially before a Sounders game. They have 2 happy hours daily and we enjoy reduced price fare by booking an OpenTable reservation for 5:30 pm. We split the Boka Burger which is delicious with bacon and cooked rare. The frites are terrific with garlic aioli. I enjoy the Poke and my husband enjoys the mussels. They have a nice selection of ales on tap and the happy hour wine selection is normally a good choice. Book a table by the window to people watch. The service is typically positive but can slow down at times. Sit back and enjoy your meal.

We each picked a different dish and we were all very pleased with the food. The bar tender was very accommodating during our meal and we sat at the bar after dinner and he was even more charming. Our waitress during dinner seemed unfriendly, but she was not at all rude. It didn't ruin our experience. We have always enjoyed our complete Hotel 1000 experience.

This place was highly recommended, and my friends had been here for breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately lunch service came short. Service was incredibly slow. We never received water refills, our waitress hardly ever came to our table check on us to see if we needed anything else, which we did. I ordered the burger which was just okay because it came out warm. Only redeeming aspect of this lunch was the truffle fries.

We've dined here multiple times before and each time was such a great experience except for this last visit. Food was great as always! We sat outside on such a beautiful day in the PNW. Only problem was the slow service. Our waitress sucked! She would disappear for long periods of time and towards the ending we've just had it. We asked for a box and the check. When she dropped the check off she hurried away not giving us a chance to give her our card immediately so that we can GTFO of there. Instead of waiting longer I went to find her inside and low and behold? She was chillin with the hostess chattin it up. Our quick lunch turned into a 2 hour waiting game. Needless to say she may or may NOT have gotten a tip.

We read reviews and heard about the brunch so we decided to meet some friends Sunday and brunch was very good. The food was excellent and the service was very good. We opted to sit outside, cute patio but street noise at times was loud (summer tourist traffic), however it was a beautiful day and between noise it was a great area to enjoy a meal. No views other than some historic Seattle buildings but we were there for the food. $5 Sunday brunch Mimosa's and all local beer on tap. All reasonably priced.

We have eaten at BOKA several times now, usually before the symphony at Benaroya Hall. Each time I have been impressed with the complete package, from the complimentary valet parking, to a warm greeting by the hostess, to a creative cocktail menu, to the service and the food. We have had several different servers and each one has been very knowledgable about the menu offerings and willing to offer suggestions. The kitchen does a very nice job combining ingredients (mostly seasonal and local, I expect) for an interesting menu. During our last visit, the wine cellar was being rotated so we got a splurge bottle of wine at a very nice price.

The food is, as they promise, fresh and well cooked. It was a treat to have a salad that oozed freshness, and the right amount and type of dressing. The farro was a tasty touch, although farro doesn't have to feature in so many dishes :P Our server was amazing, and the wine list decent enough. Only complaint is the ambience - Boka is neither sports bar, nor the kind of romantic restaurant we'd've wished for. It tries to be both, and ends up feeling a little... weird. Our quest for romantic ambience didn't work out, but, the food was great and the service very warm. We won't be back if we visit Seattle, but, for a one-time thing, definitely yes!

We went here as is was suggested as a good restaurant with gluten free options. The hostess was rude and we were concerned because she made a point to say that they didn't have a gluten free menu so we were concerned we made a bad decision, but our server was wonderful and made a point to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The prices were very reasonable for the meal we had and our experience was redeemed by her attention to detail and positive attitude. I only gave it 4 stars because of the rudeness of the hostess.
