  • "Really enjoyed our cocktails, and our waitress was very accommodating when I asked to move to another table. (I never do that, but they had us in a 2 top shoved next to a large party when 4 tops were open around the corner). The food was quite tasty and well timed, but I wouldn't necessarily come here again for a special occasion/romantic meal. One complaint was that my husband's filet was supposed to come with foie gras, and when the waitress brought it out, she set it down and told us they were out of it. No apology, substitution (although, you can't really sub something for foie) or change on the bill. Not the end of the world, just awkward. Long story a little less long, I'd pick this place for drinks and an occasional late night meal."

  • "Taking advantage of restaurant week gave me the perfect opportunity to try BOKA. My friend and I were not disappointed. The food was very good, tasty combinations and done to our specification. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Overall a very nice experience. Will come again."

  • "My business date didn't show up for our lunch. Despite a pretty full restaurant the staff didn't begrudge me the prime table. When I gave up and ordered a salad the hostess and then waiter couldn't have been more attentive/gracious. The salad nicoisr was excellent and I told my apologetic stander-upper that she can take me to Boka next week to atone."

  • "I had to ask multiple times to get my tea and I saw 4 servers standing around and talking- it doesn't make the restaurant look very good. I did pick up later which I could understand, but at the time (11:45am) there were hardly any full tables. Our server was Baron - and he stopped by twice. The expediter/runner actually brought our food and my tea, asked us if we wanted pepper, followed up with us - he did a nice job. He saved our experience, in my opinion. I usually have a very pleasant experience at Boka and that is why I recommend it."

  • "We frequent BOKA because of the great food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful staff. The fried chicken is amazing! My husband loves the salmon and scallops. Their happy hour food is really good, and the prices make everything better. We don't drink, so I can't comment on the alcohol or their selection. But, our friends (who often join us) are always happy with whatever drinks they order."

  • "We had a reservation for 6:30 and when we arrived we were promptly seated. They gave my girlfriend a rose for valentines day and it was nice of them to do that gesture. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. The real star of the night was the food - we got appetizers, we each got an order of the filet mignon, and the lovers sundae was AMAZING. We will definitely come back - my girlfriend and I want to make it an annual tradition to come back to BOKA for valentines day cause it was just so good."

  • "Contrived club vibe with far too many out-of-towners looking for the Seattle scene - noisy, taking photos, drinking sugary and overpriced cocktails. The food was mediocre at best and at near $25-30 per entree, wildly overpriced. I would never return were it not for my Passport card that made the entrees at least BOGO. The waiter was nice and definitely added to the club-vibe, but there was little in the way of "over and above" customer service."

  • "Caveat: Valentine's Day & it was packed. Though big business night for restaurants, quality & atmosphere still important. They expanded dining room to include the bar: loud; people put on high bar chairs & tables; sports-bar atmosphere w/ two large TVs offering all the romance of Sochi Olympics; service very slow; food expensive for bar setting ($30-40 per entrée); & food not good (weird flavor profiles—truffled beet risotto?; great raw tuna but drowned in bad sauce; cod nicely cooked but filled w/ bones; shrimp bisque microwaved w/ bowl super hot but soup lukewarm w/ yucky dried skin on top and had lots of thickening agent in it, almost inedible). Wine selection so-so. Being put in bar than dining area felt like bait & switch. No-go again."

  • "I randomly picked this restaurant on open table approximately 3 weeks before Valentine's Day and am so glad I did. The service, drinks and food were great! We were seated before our reservation time. Our server was very knowledgable about cocktail menu as well as dinner menu. The filet melted in your mouth. The crab was very fresh. All the ladies received a long stem rose for Valentine's. We have already recommended this place to friends and can't wait to come back ourselves!"

  • "My husband and I have eaten at BOKA many times prior to our dinner there with my mom. We were promptly seated and brought water and menus. We ordered the truffle fries which are always delicious. My husband and I shared the southern fried chicken which was delicious and my mom had the steak. We then shared the Drunken Monkey for dessert, it definitely hit the spot! I think it was supposed to have some sort of fudge which I didn't really taste, but it was good anyways."

  • "Went with a group to celebrate a bittersweet occasion, and it will leave a lasting memory. Fabulous service--she knew her stuff, stayed on top of our large group, anticipated needs, etc. Happy hour menu offered a varied mix, and some of us ate directly off that, rather than regular menu. Guest of honor ate the last lamb shank that he will have for a very long time, and pronounced it fabulous. Two of my personal favorites were the lamb bites in yogurt, and the truffle fries--could graze on these all day. Will definitely consider coming again when we are back in town. My only complaint: the high chairs at the large table are not particularly comfortable--would have preferred different seating."

  • "My husband and I chose Boka because we could park at Benaroya Hall and walk. Finding good Seattle places is important to us because we drive 90 miles to attend cultural events. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. Sitting at a high table next to the windows, we could see people walking to pre-Super Bowl parties and to the symphony. The menu is not long and focuses on regional ingredients; we had no trouble finding dishes with appeal. The cocktail list is witty, and there were plenty of wines available by the glass. All in all, a great evening."

This place offers a good HH menu, decent cocktails, and a solid selection of beers on tap. As far as the food goes, the Boka burger, the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, and the poke tuna are all very solid."

  • "The dishes describe very well on the menu, but there seems to be something missing when they arrive at the table: the cobb salad was very short of chicken and cheese, and was less presented as a salad than as a mass of lettuce dropped on the top of the other ingredients. The blackened salmon tostada was really a blackened salmon salad -- good in itself -- but with only the smallest hint of a corn tortilla in evidence. It's a nice place, the servers are pleasant and helpful, but it didn't quite add up overall."

  • "When the design ties precedence over the comfort, this is the review you get. Nice food, nice atmosphere, attentive staff. But could I find a seat that was comfortable? No. We tried four different places in the restaurant and all were odd. The bizarre curved bench seats, of which there are many, were unsurprisingly empty. The high tables in the window leave you too far away for conversation, etc. The regular seats in back go fast. Maybe that's where one eat the food…."

Since we were going out with another couple and all of us wanted a casual but good dining experience we decided to try Boka based on prior reviews. We were very happy with our choice.
