An old storefront in Kingston's Historic Uptown District, a simple sliver of a space, has received a sumptuous update by its new tenant: Boitson's Restaurant. The menu is American, refined, yet comfortable from Trout Meuniere to Fried Chicken. The dining area is a carefully considered homage to… both the upscale bistro and the "old man" bar. "We went to Boitson's after a recommendation from a friend. We heard they had great oysters and we were not disappointed. We tried six of each type with Hemlock being our favorite.
For dinner he had the duck breast which was delicious. The only complaint of the night was he specifically discussed with the waitress the doneness of the duck and she said the chef would serve mid-rare with a pink middle. Well, mid-rare came out medium...no pink. Still it was good and we chose to keep it since it was getting busy and we had an 8:00 show to catch. I had the soft shell crab which was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed coffee at the end of a great meal. Our server, Asia, was fantastic. She provided the perfect level of helpfulness!"

"Boitson's is a little gem. Friendly and welcoming but intimate if that's what you want. Charm abounds. Delicious food at a price that makes it one of the best values in the area. Crispy-fresh, perfectly dressed salad; moist and succulent game hen; a burger which is in a two-way tie for my favorite in a region where the local beef rivals any in the country. Expansive list of wine and local beers alongside a cocktail menu which invites sampling and doesn't dissappoint. A friendly, helpful staff that knows how to avoid intruding."
