From the hostess to the waitress, everyone was energetic, engaging, and wonderful. The food was good, especially the empanadas and dipping sauces. Atmosphere was nice, friendly, very inviting. We had our two kids as well, 7yrs old and 5 months old, they enjoyed themselves and kids menu is great, big selection. Neighborhood was very nice, went on a walk afterward as we were full from the amazing food. Our reservation seating was prompt, the greeter was welcoming and friendly and our waitress was upbeat and knowledgeable. The avocado salad appertivo was a good size and nicely chopped without being mashed and was also nicely seasoned, not too many onions. I also had a platano stuffed with shredded chicken apertivo that had my mouth wanting more. My pork was perfectly seasoned and my blank beans were authentic. My tres leche melted in my mouth and could be declared decadently blissful...my friends loved the churros and the flan was sinful. The Sangrita was an excellent combination. Three minute we walked in we were escorted to our seats with three nicest host. He explained the specials and his favorites. The other waiters that passed our table serving other tables all said hello. Numerous times or waitress checked in on us. The food was so tasty and flavorful. For such a packed place you would assume the did would take forever but it came out quickly and hot. It was crowded so make reservations....the coconut mojitos were incredible. Dishes that we had and considered outstanding were Arroz Con Pollo served with black beans,plantainsand red cabbage slaw,
Fish Tacos served with kale and red cabbage slaw, a plantain crusted chicken breast served with plantains and red cabbage
slaw and a Jalapeno grilled catfish served with cilantro mashed potatoes. Prices were affordable.

It's a much larger restaurant than I imagined and it was packed on a midweek night! I was glad we'd made a reservation. I ordered the garlic shrimp which came in a large shallow bowl with a garlic broth that was wonderful! The entrees come with 2 sides and I ordered sauteed spinach and tostones - delicious!! The empanadas we ordered for apps were also great and came with lovely condiments which we used throughout the meal. Add to that a perfect margarita and I was happy! Truthfully, one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had, all around. I literally discussed with my girlfriend, trying to determine a negative, and couldn't find one. First off, the hostess and waitress were really cool and friendly. The decor was very authentic and fun without feeling like Taco Bell. And this is before the food came out. I ordered the app, plantains stuffed with chicken with a sweet potato (I believe) puree. Despite having severe reservations, it was great. Then had the Arroz Con Pollo, a pretty "vanilla" choice but certainly not vanilla at this place. Perfect size and great flavor, along with a presentation I hadn't seen before. It starts with the hospitality of the host. Even while waiting in the crowded front, you are apprised every few minutes of the status of your table.
After ordering, cocktails are delivered with pride and a smile. Dishes are brought with genuine happiness.
Time after time, everything is consistent and really good. Portions are more than satisfying which is good because you do want to eat it all.
It is so easy to tell the mission of Bogota Latin Bistro must be "Enjoy Food and Enjoy Life." My wife is Colombian and I've spent nearly a year there, so I can attest to solid menu. If you have never had it, definitely get the Ajiaco soup. That is a Bogota specialty. We also loved the cerviche, even though that is really a Peruvian dish. The desserts were not great, so skip those.
My recommendations to the restaurant, however, are that they include arequipe in the dessert dishes, serve Old Parr whiskey, get some Postobon in there and expand the beer selection to include Club Colombia, Bogota Beer Co and Apostle (from Medellin). I had Sunday evening reservations and the place was hoping.we had wheat shrimp empanadas which came out less than five minutes after ordering then as our appetizer. We had ropa vieja (shredded beef stew) with yucca frita (comes with a spicy dipping sauce), garlic spinach (out of this world if you're not scared of garlic or olive oil) and bistec encebollado (steak and onions) which was tender and moist with an standard white rice and tostones (fried green plantain). Our bill was reasonable for the yummy food, great atmosphere, and super sweet server with the big blue eyes! The restaurant was a young vibrant feel to it, there were young and old through out.
