Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge
Good food and good serviceWe stuck with a few orders of tapas, and were not disappointed. The Pan con Tomate y Jamón Serrano, in particular, was outstanding.
Many wines served by the glass, which was appreciated. Service was friendly and rapid without being intrusive.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFun Tapas in GeorgetownTook our three kids there on a Friday night. Cava Sangria was a nice twist. All of the tapas we ordered arrived quickly and were very tasty. There was a cute back patio but it was raining so they weren't using it, but it looked like a fun place to sit. The service was efficient and there was a nice vibe to the place.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite spot doesn't disappointThis is one of our favorite Georgetown restaurants. We take our kids there -- they love good food, too -- and there's something for everyone. The cava sangria is wonderful. The braised short ribs in peppers has gotten smaller over time, but still just a tasty. Try to sit in different rooms -- the vibe outside, downstairs, and upstairs are all different. Definitely a fun place.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the TapasEverything @ Bodega is absolutely delish! the cocktails, the wine list, the tapas, the Paella's, the desserts, the coffee...everything is great. The staff is awesome very attentive the ambience is very welcoming...we love it...we just need any excuse to go! family in town, meeting wth friends, date night, just because we deserve it ,it doesn't matter the 45 minute drive from Baltimore is all worth it!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAppreciative, tastyI really appreciated Bodega honoring my reservation a half hour ahead of time, as I had written the time down wrong. The food came quickly and was delicious, accompanied by some white sangria. I recommend the seafood stew to split with a friend before digging into some tapas- we chose the spinach with pine nuts, raisins, and apples, the fried balls of chicken, and the seared tuna. My friend and I were happily stuffed. Too bad we didn't get around to the dessert menu!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good staff!Staff was very accommodating regarding our change of plan- the appointment was shorter than expected, so instead of getting there at 6:30 we were there an hour earlier.
Waiter was very nice, but he could have suggested things to us or given us an idea of how to order (meaning suggesting a number of dishes for our party of 6-7,etc.). We had two pitchers of the (very good) sangria among us and it was about a glass and a half per person, and 5-6 dishes were more than enough. We had calamari, mushroom risotto, beet salad, salmon with olive tapenade, and two of the shrimp, with the house ice cream with figs and port for dessert. Delicious and worth a revisit!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. A little crampedGreat food. A little cramped and noisy. Service was perfect and they were able to accomodate us with a stroller on a Friday night. Would definetly go back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodI don't know why I did not try this place before. The food is really good! The night we went the wait staff was really inattentive and absent for the most part. Other than that, I would go back again for the food.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious, authenticFood was delicious, authentic Spanish cuisine- fantastic paella and sangria. Best find in Georgetown!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it5 of us took an 8 pm reservation and sat outside; great little wind-protected outdoor patio between the buildings. Awesome menu; ordered over a dozen items through the night and not a one was ordinary. Cannot miss with this restaurant from bacon wrapped dates to paella.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA pleaant surprise to findA pleaant surprise to find a real Spanish restaurant in Georgetown, excellent paellas and a wide range of genuine tapas. We are regular visitors to Spain from the UK and really enjoyed our meal and the experience. We will definitely return either for a meal or to drop in for a drink and tapas in the early evening, just like real Spain.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Great AmbianceI visited Madrid in 2011 and Bodega's food, decor, and serving dishes are authentic. However, the service is just ok - especially when it's busy. The sangria leaves a lot to be desired. But, I would still recommend this restaurant.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMdelicious and great serviceI was waiting on my friend for a while (georgetown traffic) and the service was great. My waitress was very attentive to me even though the rest of my party wasnt there. The tapas came out very fast after we ordered and the cava sangria was very good.
I was quite happy with our meal and plan to return.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good. TheThe food was very good. The white sangria was just ok but everything else was very good.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful evening! My husbandA wonderful evening! My husband and I really loved our experience at Bodega. Our waiter recommended a great wine that was moderately priced. The portions were generous for 2 people to share. All the food was tasty and well seasoned but the standouts were the beef short ribs in piquillo peppers, the monkfish with the chickpea puree, and the grilled cuttlefish. For a veggie we had the sauteed spinach with pine nuts that was perfectly cooked. Our daughter had the chicken croquettes and there are other good choices for the kids. Thankfully the music wasn't too loud and the atmosphere was lively.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice Georgetown tapasVery nice Georgetown tapas restaurant and lounge. Outstanding Shrimp Ajillo!!! Cava sangria was excellent. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Overall very enjoyable dinner spot.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the atmosphere andWe loved the atmosphere and thought most of the dishes were excellent, but some fell flat. Would definitely return.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, delicious andGreat food, delicious and shareable paellas, outstanding decor and friendly service! In addition, red sangria is the best in town. Yum!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, the food at Bodega'sAs usual, the food at Bodega's was great but the service was terrible. They now have shark bites on the menu which we tried that were very good but still did not touch the short ribs in stuffed peppers or chicken croquettes. Will return again but I know not to have high expectation of the staff.1/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
