Bodean SeafoodGreat way to spend an anniversary!The service was superb for our 40th wedding anniversary. Tammy knew how to treat us right. The shrimp/lobster bisque was to die for. Tammy recommended the Sockeye Salmon and it did not disappoint. It was the best salmon we had ever tasted. Two desserts were served gratis since it was our anniversary AND the manager brought out a 2 serving coffee cake to enjoy the next morning. Having not eaten there before, we decided to try the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing as well. We were not disappointed at all. We also tried 1/2 dozen oysters which were very fresh and delicious. The cobb salad was refreshing and the mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. Our waiter, Zach was excellent - very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Long enough that we dined in the new location after they were displaced by the highway makeover.
We were pleased with dinner, the atmosphere, new decor even though minimalist, it was tastefully appointed.
The food as always is of premium quality and good portions. Great service and not pretentious.

But I was disappointed that our server took advantage of us over our wine selection. We decided on a modest bottle of wine and he was insisting that we try another bottle not on the wine list. In fact he would bring both types out for us to see (see what?) the suggested wine was nice however it was $25 more in price. This was our 25th Anniversary and I put that on the reservation. Special menu made with Happy Anniversary printed on it. This menu signed by chef and pastry chef and given to us when we left. There was great service, great food as always. We will continue to bring special occasions and recommend Bodeans to our business contacts for meetings. It was very tender and had a good taste. It is the sides that come with the entree that could be improved on. Something with the name of cheddar in it that appears it was scooped with a ice cream scooper. Reminded me a cheddar flavored rice. It's ok. The food was just exquisite, fresh, savory, and full of flavor. That was then topped by their first class service. Fantastic halibut--fresh and perfectly cooked. Glad I asked for the sauce on the side as it was somewhat dull. The steak topped with crab and cheese sauce was excellent as well, but the sauce was not needed. Service was excellent--very nice wine selections. They knew it was our 54th Anniversary and everyone wished us well.The food was excellent and Jimmy, our server was great. I wouldn't miss eating at Bodeans. The Bluepoint Oysters were very fresh.The large scallops and Atlantic Char were enhanced by a spicy sauce.We could go on and on about everything. The atmosphere,the music,servers,the comfy banquette are some of the high points. Needless to say, but I will,that we will be back for our Anniversary next year if not sooner.
