A word from Bocci - St. Louis
Bocci Bar is a new take on northern Italian cuisine. Far from the checkered table cloth heaping pasta bowl Italian restaurant, Bocci Bar captures the rustic yet modern feel of a neighborhood Italian gathering spot. From the floor-to-ceiling windows that open to the sidewalk café to the warm wood tones that envelope all sides of the cozy interior, Bocci Bar is relaxed and rustic…the perfect spot to enjoy a meal among friends. The menu is designed to encourage tasting and sharing with lots of small plates and pasta dishes available as a large or small dish. All Pizza is thin crust and deliciously crispy ( Try the Lobster B.L.T.)and every pasta dish is made from fresh pasta. So, whether you’re meeting a colleague for lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner with friends, we invite you to experience the new Bocci Bar in Clayton.

Diner Reviews
  • "It was not very crowded at all and the service was extremely slow. It took about 20 minutes to receive a drink, and no one was at the bar. The food wasn't anything special. I ordered a flat-bread pizza and it looked like it had been sitting out for an hour and just was not good. Good place to go for just a glass of wine, but if you want anything more than that, I'd go somewhere else."

  • "The atmosphere is casual bar with linen tables. The place was pretty cold, when we came in, and when we mentioned it, the waiter asked if we wanted to wear our winter coats. The waiter was not well trained. A lot of unnecessary food pushing. (You're not going to order an appetizer?! No salad?!) The wine suggested by the bar tender, however, was really good. I ordered the ragu pasta--flavorful and hearty but pieces of gristle; my companion ordered soup and pizza, which was quite good. The waiter removed the bread + olive oil before we had finished it. This restaurant has potential, but they need to train the staff more carefully, turn the temp. up, if it's cold, and in general make it a more relaxing and elegant experience."

  • "It was pretty dead for a Saturday night at 8. Some (perhaps many) of the dishes have other ingredients that are not listed on the menu. I ordered a "Fig and Pig" Flatbread. The menu lists bacon, but it actually had very undercooked, 95% fat, pig belly. When I order bacon on a pizza, I don't expect to get shimmering floppy chunks of fat. The pizza also had red beets and cilantro & neither were listed in the ingredients. Pizzas are one of those things that really should just list all the toppings. On that same note, my wife had to ask about three different dishes to find something vegetarian. Seemingly veggie dishes all seemed to include some form of meat and it wasn't always obvious. Even "Shaved Asparagus" had meat. Good staff."

  • "This restaurant is easy to miss unless you are looking for it. We were able to get reservations at the last minute which was great. The Northern Italian food was a change of pace from the cream laden dishes most Italian restaurants have in the Saint Louis area. My halibut was wonderful along with the fresh roast vegetables and homemade pasta. (small amount which is great) The tomato caprese salad was out of this world. It was prepared a little differently than most restaurants which made it special. They also serve Serendipity ice cream which is a nice way to end a meal. We will be back."

  • "My husband and I went to Bocci to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time having dinner at the restaurant, although we had been there for drinks and dessert before. We had mussels for an appetizer and pasta for dinner (I had butternut squash ravioli, my husband had some pasta dish with braised meat), and drinks. The pasta is made fresh at the restaurant and was quite good. When the waitress found out we were there for our anniversary, she brought us a complimentary bread pudding for dessert. Who can turn down a free dessert? It was a nice gesture and we ate every bite, but I admit I was a little disappointed because I had planned or ordering the tiramisu . . . and I certainly didn't need two desserts!"

  • "Somewhat overrated for the quantity and quality of food. Not worth the price that was paid."

  • "Enjoyable experience. We had a large party (9 people). They reserved a small back room for us, which made it very quaint as we were the only people in the room. Overall, unless you can get this room, I wouldn't recommend for large parties. It's mostly set up for couples, or small groups. I have no negative comments, everything was as I hoped. The manager and proprietor were very courteous and visited our table several times. The manager, himself, even took the time to give detailed explanations of every menu item. Definitely recommend."

  • "The restaurant has a nice patio that opens to the street. I would recommend a glass if wine and appetizers, the rest of the food was bland. Servers were very nice."
