food was good (eggplant appetizer, caprese salad); lamb shank was very good, and service was good - On service: so attentive bordered on interruptions; 1 waiter brings bread but the 2nd waiter removes bread plates (?); tables so tight waiter could not properly serve - example - could not reach water glasses or get plates< I easily passed them, this is commentary on how smooshed tables are, even for NY> dropped used silverware on my husband (awkward). Would not return - again it was good but not awesome -

Great choice of original and tasteful pasta. Excellent wine list with a fine collection of white regional italians. Friendly service. Although the energic noise level makes it difficult to actually talk without shouting, you can always enjoy eating in silence.

We arrived a half hour early for our reservation, but were greeted warmly, and seated immediately. The food was excellent, starting with the cheese and mushroom bruschetta, and continuing with the grilled lamb chops and grilled Branzino. The Broccoli Rabe was also very good - not bitter. Service was quick and efficient, with water glasses being refilled without request. We finished with plenty of time for a leisurely walk to the theater. Highly recommended.

We were looking for last minute reservations for a group of 5 on a Friday night and used the open table app to find this restaurant. Our guests, who had been to many nice restaurants during their 3 week visit to the US, said Bocca di bacco was their favorite. Everyone's food was great, we enjoyed the wine, and the service was also outstanding.

The food was exceptional from beginning to end. The bruschetta ai funghi was the best. The short ribs were tender and was the biggest piece I've ever had and without all the fat and ribs. Same quality for the bolognese and the red snapper. Wife said she could drink the broth it was so good Highly recommend this for personal and business meals

Was looking for someplace with reasonably priced food with good reviews near the theatre and found it! It's good to have a new restaurant to go to. Boccaccio is really pleasant and the food is very good. We each had a fish dish -- one Branzino and one a Scicilian style monkfish. Both were cooked perfectly and well presented. I chose a reasonably priced Barbella and was pleasantly surprised with the structure. Definitely a new restaurant on my list.

We originally wanted to go to Becca but could not get in. This restaurant came up in our radar and thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. We were shopping around Manhattan and found ourselves there a half hour before our reservation. "No Problem!" Said the host, we just set your table. From the Calamary to the short ribs, everything was well cooked and presented perfectly. Would definitely recommend the place. We got there at 7pm and by the time we left at around 8:30 the place was packed.

We enjoyed all that we had. Shared meatballs, octopus, and pasta with walnuts and gorgonzola--all fabulous. Then we each had a main course. I had the red snapper-very good, one had the branzino--excellent and the other had short ribs--rich and meltingly soft. A great pre-theatre find.

The food choices and wine list are fabulous. The orchiette with lamb ragu was so flavorful with so much shredded not ground lamb...the kitchen split the order for us as a course between appetizer and entrée. The ambiance was affected by the door being left open and too many cars honking horns. Once door was closed and restaurant filled up, it was much better.

From all the reviews we read we expected a really nice dinner but our meal and service was beyond our expectations from the time we were greeted by the hostess to the time we left. We love raw oysters and saw they were having a $1.00 special in the bar area and when we spoke to the hostess she was able to sit us a wonderful table in the bar area and we were just in heaven..had two dozen wonderful oysters! We had a Variety of entrees which included fish, lamb and steak and everything was yummy. Thank you for putting a wonderful finish to our day in the city.

My wife and I were in NYC for a long weekend and had seen another location for this restaurant featured on the Food Network. There is a Burnt Wheat Pasta that was featured and I was interested. It's hard to put into words a true description of how it was, but I can honestly say that it was good, but not great. My wife ordered the special - it was Chicken Parmesan with house-made spaghetti noodles and sauce. This is not necessarily meant as criticism, but the sauce tasted like it came out of a can of a certain Chef that most of us grew up with. It's not that it wasn't good, but for the special and the price, we had hoped for more. Our waiter - wasn't rude, but was not attentive and didn't really seem to be "there".

After trying to get a reservation on 44th Street near the theater, I found Bocca Di Bacco during a internet search. It was a great find. A pleasant, efficient and friendly staff. A menu that has just about something for everyone, including vegan family members. The food was outstanding. For someone with a good appetite, like me, the portions could have been a bit larger. To top it all off, the desserts were fabulous. The prices were reasonable and seating and table arrangements were not overcrowded. A real winner as far as I am concerned.
