The review I wrote for this restaurant back in October was the best I've written for a restaurant. I was looking forward to going back. We were only able to get 4 o'clock, even though we were going to an evening performance. We grabbed the reservation anyway. When we arrived, we were surprised to see there were only two parties In the restaurant, one very loud. One other party came in during the time we were there . I gave my name told them of my reservation and we were seated. The waiter was brusque and hard to find, soup was not identifiable or ediBle, the eggplant appetizer was inedible. The waiter didn't ask what was wrong with the uneaten food. We left 20% tip The restaurant reported us as a no show to OpenTable, later retracted.

Such an under-the-radar gem in NYC. The food is top-notch, the service is attentive, and the wine list is spectacular. Plus, they have some amazing house cocktails that are delicious. This is a great pre-theatre option as they are attentive to time and will get you in and out in time of your show without rushing you. We had the grilled octopus which I highly recommend and the porkchop with roasted veggies - AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! All of the pastas I have tried here are insanely good and most of the noodles are made in-house.
This is the real deal and the prices won't break the bank - will keep coming back here and recommend it to all.

Diverse Italian wine list and menu. Food is good, but the sauces are heavier than I remember them in the past. Also, the food did not arrive piping hot; seemed like a few of the dishes had been sitting out before being brought to the table.
Love the olive all'ascolana (regional specialty of Ascoli Piceno, a small Italian city).
Service was good but not great; server was a bit aloof. That being said, I have had other servers who gave great service.

Am a big fan of this restaurant, but the service was terrible last night. The waiter rushed us from the moment we sat down. I think he expecteed us to do a bottle of wine, appetizers and dinner in an hour. Our entrees arrived about 4 minutes after we ordered. Had I not been to this reastaurant several times in the past, I would never come back based on my experience last night. Definiely suggest getting table in back of restaurant.

I am always looking for places close to the Time Warner Center for a pre-concert dinner. This time I stumbled onto Bocca di Bacco. They have a very good by the glass, wine list. And the food was tasty, interesting and presented well. I docked it a star on ambiance because it was a little loud. Otherwise a solid restaurant. I will be back.

A great find! A smallish space that is cozy with brick walls and a nice-sized bar. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. The arugula salad was big enough to split; it was well dressed and seasoned. The monkfish was outstanding: a red puttanesca sauce that made me want to lick the plate. The snapper was also delicious. Portions were generous. A great value for NYC!

I love the atmosphere of this place. The location is great, the staff pleasant and the food is good. I went there for brunch and had the spaghetti with shrimp and argula (which I would recommend) and the little muffins [served prior to course] were the cutest things. Their wine selection is extensive and very much worth visiting.
