Diner Reviews
  • "This was our first time at Bobs and was very happy with food, service and has the strongest drinks I've had in The Woodlands. Both my husband's and my steak was cooked just like we requested, great side dishes and desert! Would like to see little more fish dishes on menu. Loved the shrimp wrapped in bacon, excellent! Will go back."

  • "Bob's is a great place to meet old friends. We were able to enjoy our conversation with our friends without having to yell over the back ground noise and at the same time have a good meal and nice bottle of wine. (could use a little less salt on the steaks) Great staff,"

  • "Great bar scenario, the wine list is ample, selected with very good taste and knowledge of the traditional and new ones, the steaks are of a high quality meat and you can also find a great chicken bass, wife loved it."

  • "The entire restaurant staff was great in helping me plan a surprise marriage proposal for my girlfriend. The food was top notch, and we can't wait to come back!"

  • "This dining establishment should actually be a five. When I go to high end restaurant I feel I need to be very perticular about a rating. The Caesar salad was bland, but other than that all of the food from appetizer to coffee after were fives. The noise level is high in the back room I've eaten in twice now. Possibly the front rooms are quieter, it might be worth a try."

  • "This was our second visit & we were excited because the 1st visit was wonderful. They did not disappoint! The wine list is great, the service attentive without being overbearing and the steaks are just wonderful. We love that you get your choice of potato with the steaks & their signature side is one, great big, glazed carrot. The meal starts with a jar of housemade pickles just like Bob's mom used to keep on the table and delicious, hot bread. We were celebrating my birthday & they brought me the dessert of my choice to celebrate. We enjoyed it very much & will definitely be back."

  • "Food was very good but atmosphere and service were lacking. Our waiter was good, but did not present as a professional and sell the restaurant as you expect at prime steakhouses. The hostess was very rude and acted like we were putting her out after they tried to seat us in a exposed table and we requested a booth (which there were plenty empty). Overall, the atmosphere seemed stagnant."

  • "I don't get it. This place charges premium prices for steak, yet when the plates came out, the prominent item was a carrot (the K-mart of the vegetable world) that looked like it should have come with batteries and a bottle of lubricating gel. Oh yea, and the steak was pretty good. The sides were not that memorable, and the drinks were about 2 dollars over what other high-end restaurants charge. The atmosphere was typical Woodlands; lots of Bush folks in the room, proud that they can afford those prices and relieved that they did not have to venture outside of their culinary comfort zone. My husband and I don't mind paying a lot for a great restaurant experience, but what we don't like is going away feeling like we got "carrot-ed"."

  • "We were a party of four for dinner and all of us loved our meal. The steaks were delicious and the service fantastic. We will definitely come again!"

  • "the bread and butter at the beginning was very good but went downhill from there. Unfortunately I ordered the crab legs. ( at a steak place!!! it sounded very good ; I should have known better) These had a bad taste to where I couldn't even finish them. 3-4 hours later it came to haunt me with terrible gastrointestinal problems (you know what I mean). My partner ordered a steak which was good but not up to the quality we are used to in the woodlands with fine steak houses as Kirby's, Perrys, Flemings. they are going to need something better with that competition Service was very good Would I go back---NOPE You don't get a second chance to make a first impression!!"

  • "Bob's is simply always good! This is what I like about it. You know you are going to have great service, great cocktails, and your food will be wonderful. What's not to like? Also, where else can you go and have your potato included with your meal? YUM! And the fun pickles and carrot! Love that, too! The wait staff is amazing and the wines are delicious. Consistency is half the battle with a restaurant and Bob's is a winner!!!"

  • "The food was great, steaks were perfectly prepared, and the sides were very tasty. The service was excellent, and the decorations were very attractive. The chef prepared a special dessert for our son's birthday, which was big enough for the entire table. They also had a birthday card waiting for him on the table. I would definitely recommend it for dinners with friends, special occasions, and couples night out."

  • "Both my fiancé and I said this was the best steak dinner we had ever had, and we go to steakhouses often. The food and wine were both fantastic, and the waiter was knowledgeable and prompt. We have recommended this place to everyone we know! It definitely lives up to and exceeds the hype! I can't wait to go back."

  • "Bob's shows consistently excellent service from the moment your car pulls up to the valet. Everyone treats the guests as special which makes every experience a relaxing and enjoyable one. The steaks are the best The Woodlands has to offer and the sides are always spot on. We had an impromptu Birthday (we only found out on the way over) and our waitress brought us out the most delicious brownie covered in ice cream made by Amy's. The peanut butter brownie was the perfect blend of sweetness chewiness with a little crunch. The table was silent for the first time all night as we devoured it. This is our go to spot for all our special nights."

  • "We have been to several Bob's and this one certainly met our expectations. Bob's on Lemmon Ave in Dallas has been our favorite steakhouse for more than 20 years. We think Bob's consistently has the best steaks anywhere. The Woodlands location will certainly be a regular fine dining spot for us, excellent service, ambience, and delicious food and drinks!"

  • "My children and I took my husband there for Father's Day. The hostess was sweet and took us to a wonderful table our server was amazing. She was attentive and very helpful with answering questions about menu and specials. The food came out perfect and our steaks melted in our mouth. We could not eat it all so we took it home. We made a steak salad the next day and my husband commented that was the best steak ever. We recommend Bob's Steak and Chop Steakhouse to everyone. We will be a returning customer"

  • "In town from DC, I took my patents to Bob's for Father's Day Saturday night. Everything was great, cooked perfectly, even the carrot, phallic symbol like, but still good, wine was fantastic -- except the dessert, chocolate cake...huge slice but dry, stale, obviously had been sitting out for at least a day or two. Poor ending to an otherwise great experience."

  • "Had the bone-in ribeye. Medium as recommended by our waiter. Best steak I've had in a long time. Great service."

  • "Best steak I ever ate. My husband also enjoyed his veal chop. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. I have a long list of severe allergies and it's difficult for me to try new restaurants, but I was taken excellent care of without any fuss. I have already spread the good word."

  • "Best martini ever. Steak (filet cooked rare) was fantastic. Best in The Woodlands. Nice steakhouse ambience. Bread was really good too. Side dishes and salads we ordered were good but not exceptional. The menu is safe; nothing 'out there'. Wait staff is on the young and Inexperienced side. "

  • "We had another outstanding dining experience. The food was exceptional and the staff was attentive, friendly, helpful and professional. When making your reservation, I suggest you request to be seated in Sabrina's section."

  • "We all loved our dinner. 2 really great steaks, one sea bass special( sorry I didn't get that) and fried shrimp, which left a little to be desired. Loved the vegetables and the carrot! Spinach salad was really yummy. "

  • "They opened with no fanfare 4 months ago according to our waiter and have grown every week since. I can see why. Everything was impeccable. The service was on par with any 5 star restaurant, amazing. The food was fantastic. Most of us ordered steaks and they we're melt in your mouth, slice like butter delicious. The carrots were simply to die for. Nothing too fancy, just simple perfection. We will visit again, and again."

  • "I get to dine at great steak places in Manhattan and Chicago quite often - Bob's in The Woodlands is as good or better that those. I've dined at all the local places as well (Morton's, Perry's, Kirby's, Vic and Anthony's, Del Frisco, III Forks, Capital Grille, Hubble and Hudson, Jasper's) but Bob's service and food wins. Those places aren't bad, in fact I'll still go to many of them when I'm nearby, but Bob's is the top place on my list right now. Last time I went I had a great Porterhouse, my bride had the BEST Sea Bass I've ever seen!"

  • "Food was superb, service was good but lacked the experience of an established steakhouse. I am hoping this will get better over time."
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "Loved the food and atmosphere, but it was so loud in the back Wine Room, we couldn't hear each other very well. Perhaps the tables are too close together? It was very crowded and every table was filled, but service was great and so was the food. Wouldn't recommend their "famous" onion rings. They are huge and have a cornbread base breading, not crisp. No one thought they were very good and I wouldn't order them again."

  • "We went to Bob's for the first time for my husband's birthday and were very disappointed. Prices are too high for the value and quality of the food. Appetizer - 2 crab legs @ $70. No smaller portions for our son (8 year old). Had to order a $50 steak and split it. Not my idea of a very family oriented place when they do not offer anything less than $30 and adult only portion. Our dinner was $287 - we each had 1 glass of wine. Very disappointed!"

  • "Everything was great but we stated that we were celebrating a Retirement using open-table, and they did not acknowledge this so we did not have anything special to celebrate. Before we knew it we had closed our tab and quietly left.. You need to make sure that the restaurants read any special entries when folks are celebrating an event."

  • "This second visit was very disappointing. The food was great, however, service was very poor and the noise level was incredibly high. We had to ask several times for bread. My guests and I had to almost yell across the table to hear each other and the check was delivered at the same time as the desert. Not nearly what would be expected for a restaurant that is $100 per person before the tip for a salad, entree, desert and one of the least expensive bottles of wine on the list. "

  • "We went to Bob's for our anniversary and were happy we did. The food was excellent, as was the service and the setting. Food wasn't cheap but about the same as expected at similar establishments. Will definitely return."

  • "We had our second year anniversary at Bob's and it was wonderful. Its nice to see another nice steakhouse up in the woodlands. We usually head intown but wanted to stay around here and we were pleasantly surprised. We had the wedge, crab cake, Filet with skillet potatoes and bread pudding. Everything except for the wedge was wonderful, neither one of liked the dressing as compared to other steak houses. Crab cake was served with a honey mustard sauce which we enjoyed. The Filet was wonderful, top 3 I have had in line with Pappas and Perrys. Cooked medium rare, perfect char with salty flavor with hint of butter, melted in our mouths. A+++. Service was wonderful, Zack our waiter made sure we had a fantastic anniversary."

  • "not outstanding. I'd put it in the Kirby class of steakhouses. We much prefer Brenner's on the Bayou or Vic and Anthony's. My filet was too lean making it sort of dry. Still good but not great. I also found the place to be quite loud. Not really conducive to a romantic or intimate conversation."

  • "Dinner was delicious...a very appealing menu selection. Impeccable service by our waiter Dario. He is professional, personable and knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections to match your meal. Bob's is one of our favorites!"
