  • "I have been to many of the local steak places around San Antonio. I can say that the ribeye I had at Bob's had more flavor than any other I can remember. It was cooked to exactly the level of doneness I like (medium rare) and was rich with flavor. The carrot was an interesting twist. It tasted more like a brown-sugar baked sweet potato than a carrot! The wine list was as extensive as I have seen. Very good choices in almost all categories (except inexpensive). We had a wonderful bottle of Zin, recommended by the staff, that went very well with our meal. Bob's is a good choice for steak lovers wanting an 'old club' restaurant experience."

  • "Bob's is certainly among the premier steak houses in San Antonio. The food and service was outstanding. We stayed and chatted for quite awhile and the restaurant filled and emptied and filled again...on a Thursday evening! While the food and service match Bohanan's, the prices do too, so this is a special treat for most. Despite carpets and sound absorbing ceiling treatments, the restaurant is noisy....but it adds to the atmosphere. Oh, portions are on the large size...so you'll probably be taking home another meal! We'll be back."

Plus my steak was chared when it shouldn't have been? This is a high end steak place right? Also when I ask for my food to be boxed up I want it all not for the server to pick and choose for me certain items off my plate to box up with me knowledge?"

  • "This is one of several great steak restaurants in San Antonio. Well know in the Dallas area where it originated, this location has the same great wine list, dry-aged beef, and glazed carrot you will find there. Dark mahogany, subdued lighting, and great food. The serving staff is a little young, but they will mature with more experience."

However, they missed it on little things like a bit too long between salads and delivery of entrees while others who arrived after us were receiving theirs. Also an up charge to have a side vegetable instead of the included potato is a bit petty at their entre prices. I had the flounder special which at $45 was okay but not memorable and definitely over priced. The NY strip of my dining partner was tasty but certainly thinner cut than any other chop house in town. Finally, her take home food never appeared after boxing until we had to ask about it just before leaving. Receiving an explanation of "it was up front" by the hostess. Were we supposed to know that?"

  • "Couldn't have been any better. My wife and I just stopped in for dinner and it was wonderful. She had the chopped salad to start and finished with crab cakes and loved them. I had the small rib eye and it was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks I've had. Prices were very reasonable for an upper end steak house. We will definitely be back."

  • "I had a reservation set for 745 when we got there. They were running behind on my reservation. Finally got seated around 805 . Placed our order with the waiter it took over 20 mins before we got our food people that came after us we served before us."

  • "After dining in some great restaurants in Vegas, NYC, Miami, and NOLA-I guess I'm spoiled. The service was phenomenal and the ambiance was beautiful. Enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant. Dinner was good. My steak was ordered medium-well. It arrived well done and crispy on the outside with a thin line of pink. I'm no connoisseur, but I like my medium-well steak slightly seared on the outside and a little pink in the middle. To be fair, that may mean I'm ordering wrong. Banana bread pudding and we requested a scoop of ice cream. It's by far the only other desser to ever come close to Gordon Ramsay's Sticky Toffee Pudding. Yum!"

The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. A beautiful location that seems hidden from the hustle and bustle of The Rim. The outside of the restaurant is kept clean and the inside is spotless, vibrant and friendly. Highly recommended."

  • "My family celebrated my son's high school graduation at Bob's. There were 7 of us and it was WONDERFUL. My husband got pork, one son got the fried shrimp, one person got crab cakes and the remainder of us got filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection; and I mean everything! Our server was efficient as were the rest of the waitstaff. We have been to a number of other high end steak houses in San Antonio and they are not in the same league as Bob's at all. Very impressed. We will be back."

  • "Met three of my customers at Bob's for dinner and to discuss business. We had a drink at the bar and stayed there a little longer than anticipated. Hostess asked us if we were ready to be seated at our scheduled reservation time and we needed a few more minutes. No problem, she said our table would be waiting when we were ready. After being seated, our server (Ashley) came by and went over the specials with us and told us to take our time. I believe we all ordered one of the specials along with appetizers and salads. Everyone was impressed with the Fried Lobster and loved the steaks, they were cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. Would highly recommend this place for a business meeting or a special occasion, and Ashley was WONDERFUL!!"

  • "My daughter was home from college and we decided to go to Bob's and celebrate another semester closer to graduation. Bread they serve is absolutely the best I have had anywhere. Caesar Salad was as good as any I have had. Tried the 16 oz T Bone and it was cooked to perfection and as tasty and tender as any steak I have ever eaten. Your entree is also served with a side of your choice and a glazed carrot which was a nice bonus. Drinks were perfect and the staff was super friendly and helpful. If you like good steaks, Bob's is a place you have to try!! Five Stars All The Way!!"

  • "I cannot say enough good things about Bob's. We were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday and Masters graduation. She was seated at the head of the table where an envelope lay on a plate. It was a card of congratulations that had been signed by all the employees. She was very impressed! Everything was delicious, especially the steaks and shrimp. Our waiter was extremely knowledgable, answered all questions and made excellent recommendations. We will be going back again and again, special occasion or not!"

Absolutely amazing food, quality cocktails, superior ambiance and the wait staff was most professional and attentive! The menu was not overwhelming, which, for me, was very helpful. A beautiful blend of dishes, and although the prices may seem a little on the high side, I can reassure you that its worth every penny. A wonderful investment in oil money :) I can't say enough good things about Bob's. Can't wait to return!"
