  • "Bob's had so many wonderful sounding entrees to choose from. All entrees were served with their "signature carrot" A single carrot? Yup! Grown special for Bob's. Probably weighed about a pound and delicious. What sold us on Bob's (besides the delicious food) was the fact they had a favorite wine. "J" Pinot Noir!!!"

  • "It was a slow early evening and the staff were attentive and in a hurry, but seemingly to get together to chat at the hostess station. Out meals were good quality and our steaks done as ordered. If they had had their conversation station out of view of the customers I wouldn't have known and would have thought their hurry was hustle to serve the guests and not to socialize before it gets busier later. They serve the main course with a large whole cooked carrot in the center of the plate. I think they could look for another "signature" touch as even though it tasted good, it wasn't "wow" and just made us all laugh when we said "Oh, look! It's the giant carrot again!""

Delicious salad and excellent steak, as best we've had in Arizona, perfectly cooked and flavoured and not smothered in salt. Would recommend to anyone"

  • "Arrived early for our reservation to have a couple drinks at the bar. Bartender was very slow to acknowledge us and never returned back to see if we wanted a second. Reservation was for 8:15 by 8:30 they had seated two walk in tables so I asked hostess about a table and she said they were working on it. Seated at about 8:40. Waitress was pleasant and did an overall good job. However, the bus boy was a pretty slow and not very good on keeping waters up and general clearing of appetizer plates, salad plates etc. The restaurant was busy but by no means slammed. The steaks were excellent and all the other food was very good. We eat out at nice restaurants on a fairly regular basis and this experience was lacking in comparison to similar places."

  • "The restaurant was very disappointing. (no love here) for a "romantic" valentines day this was not the place. The steak was good but that was about it. They first sat us (after 30 min wait even with reservation) by the kitchen.. very noisy... finally got moved to a "better" seat.. but for $200+ for a couple... much better options"

  • "I had the 16oz Filet Mignon, it was great. This huge piece of succulent meat came with a singular (large) carrot and an oversized stuffed potato. My wife had the 8oz, equally well prepared. We started the meal with a bisque, which was nice, but I am used to having more lobster bits in it than this had. We had arrived early, but they had us wait a minute, and put the flowers I had bought my wife at the table before they seated us, in a quiet corner of the (busy) resturant. Service was slow paced, but that suited us. I even found room for dessert (banana bread pudding) that was also a delight. Then we sat outside while I had a cigar and 18yr McCallan scotch. A perfect end to the evening before the limo drove us home. I was veriful."

  • "We had a table for four and were seated upon arrival with a 6pm reservation. The wait staff was very attentive and provided great service. The alcove tables are perfect for couples who want more privacy. We thought candles on the table would have been nice and maybe the lights a bit lower would add to the ambiance, but maybe that is the theme they want. Overall, a great evening dinner and will be back again."

  • "Based on all the reviews we were very excited about our New Years dinner celebration and had it planned and reserved for almost three months. The atmosphere was very good, except for one lady who seemed to think everyone wanted to hear her laughter and why the waitress kept egging her on we could not understand, but it is very nice. Our drinks and bread arrived quickly, our salads were very good, but then the steaks. My wife had the filet ordered medium that was served well-done as in grey and my Kansas City strip while cooked exactly right, medium, was the toughest steak I can remember ever having. The waiter seemed like he was going to have my wife brought a new filet, but then said well it might be red in the middle, it wasn't."

  • "I cannot say enough good things about Bob's Steak and Chop House! My husband and I love to enjoy a nice steak dinner, and this is the best place to do so in Tucson. For years we went to Flemming's-until it was bought by Outback and everything changed. We then started going to Sullivan's. I feel Sullivan's food is still decent, but the service has become unacceptable, unfortunately. We are SO impressed with Bobs's. The atmosphere is very comfortable, but not pretentious. The steaks (and everything we ordered) were fantastic.. The service was great.The new chef came to our table, which was a treat. (He worked at Lowe's for 13 years and has recently become head chef at Bob's.) The overall experience was perfect. We look forward to coming back."

  • "Food was over priced for what you received. What is with the bird's nest string potato stuff? It was un-edible and just took up space on the plate. The lobster looked like a large shrimp and was over cooked and rubbery. The filet was undercooked on one and over cooked on the other order. ONLY part of the meal that had flavor was the creamed corn. The cook/chef (I guess that's who he was he didn't introduce himself) did come by when we took our first bite and said is everything ok. With a mouthful of food you shake your head so he will leave and you can finish chewing. Wait staff and hostess were very nice and attentive."

  • "Though a "chain" of sorts, Bob's offers very fine food "old school" style and a club oriented inside inviting locale. A couple of notes -- the Hostess (at least at this prime time) was less than friendly. Abruptness and a lack of sensitivity about attentiveness on entry, a later near demand for menus that had yet to be used "Well, I'll leave one for the two of you.", and then no indication that she really cared for our business -- the sense was more of "I'm busy being busy" and "the restaurant is about me rather than guests" tends to diminish the experience. However, a good wait staff and fine and well-prepared food is the norm here. Somewhat dim lighting outside and poorly marked parking make navigation a bit of a hassle."

  • "Everything about the evening was great except for our reservation time.We had a 7:30 reservation & when we arrived were told it would be a 10 wait and then were. asked if we would like to have a drink on the patio while we waited. We sat outside for 20 minutes with no one coming to take a drink order or acknowledge us. We eventually went to ask about our table and were seated after almost a half hour wait. Otherwise the service was great and the food outstanding."

  • "It was date night for my wife and I so I decided we should try a new place. Since we had missed a few date nights I wanted to go somewhere the I thought would be special. I had knew of but didn't know anyone who had been to Bob's, we gave it a shot, and my wife and I enjoyed our dining experience very much. The rack of lamb was perfect, the carrot was better than expected and the skillet potatoes were unbelieveable, ger the skillet potatoes! Would I go back? Absolutely,!"

  • "Our favorite place in the whole world is no more... Our waiter or the sheff made an error with my wife's meal and ruined her night. A small error you might say, but an error a fine establishment should not make. I always have my steak butterflied, my wife never, except last night they did her steak that way and overlooked her food."
