A word from Bobo's
Bobo's is a stylish destination for the most exquisite steak and crab in the City. With antiqued red walls, colored glass light fixtures and striped tablecloths, the restaurant is like a plush Venetian jewel box. Executive Chef Andrea Froncillo has created a delectable menu that showcases his signature Italian-Asian fusion. The steak is USDA certified prime beef, dry-aged four to six weeks - longer than anywhere else on the West Coast! The crab is Dungeness, harvested from the Pacific Ocean and roasted in a savory garlic-butter sauce that is positively addicting.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The food here was amazing. My boyfriend and I got the in-bone filet mignon and it was truly worth the price tag."

  • "I've been to Bobo's 3 times, and each time the experience has been spot on. The 20 oz bone in filet has tremendous flavor. The lobster crostini, delicious, served with fresh mozzarella and avocado. Thick, juicy portobello mushrooms taste like a steak of their own. Wine list isn't gigantic but it's reasonably priced with notable California wines. Friendly, professional service from Eric and Ilsa. Bobo's does it right, don't miss out."

  • "Pretty average food. Reminds of the Brazenhead, but not nearly as good food. Large square bar scene and then tucked away tables that look fine for a date. For a place that prides itself on being a "steakhouse," average at best...seafood was just fair. Also ona very busy part of Lombard, and is the base of a Travelodge. Not a bad spot by any means, but it was definitely over hyped to me. Looked like a better place to eat at the bar."

  • "My favorite restaurant for mussels. Love them! Also, love their Filet mignon and their brussel sprouts"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Started off with the taretare and single order of mussels which were both fantastic. For the main course got the bone-in filet (rare) which was easily the best I think I may have ever had. Reasonably priced compared to those other 'high end' steak houses. The filet here is to die for. Paired with the twice baked potato, you're set to go!"

  • "I have been to Bobo's about 5 times, never have had anything to complain about. The food is good, steaks are cooked right, and the filet is wonderful. We always have the double mussels-double crab as an appetizer, and it is always good."

  • "Chose Bobo's for a celebration of my birthday despite reading some uneven reviews online. We were blown away by the quality of both the food and the service. Jorge was great. Friendly, helpful, not pushy and somehow figured out it was a celebration despite no one telling him it was. We weren't hurried at all. We stuck to the steaks on the menu as we prefer that to seafood. The steaks (petit filet, filet and bone-in filet) were perfectly cooked, flavorful and tender. The sides (brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, and twice baked potato) complimented the steaks perfectly. While we didn't order apps or salads, they looked delicious. We had a small taste of dessert as a gift from the restaurant, delicious. The "eclectic" interior was fun"

  • "party of 3 on Monday night, we were seated right away and the table was wheelchair friendly as requested, but the cold breeze on my back from the front door had me in my jacket for the entire meal. Bread was good but needed butter. We ordered the Apple, walnut cranberry salad very good and enough to share, dressing was also used to dip the bread in. The porterhouse, bone in new york and, fillet. they were very good but suffered from cold plates my fillet had several fat ribbons running through it, the guys said while the steaks were very good, Ruth Chris steaks had better flavor and were more tender, I agree. Sides were incredible 2x baked potato big enough to share, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts needed a sizzling serving platter."

  • "The steak and crab was amazing! I cannot explain in words how juicy and perfectly cooked the steak was. The appetizers were wonderful as well. Me and my spouse enjoyed the meal and the service. I will go again most defefinitely."

  • "Just great once again. 20 oz bone in illegal. Fantastic service and the food accompanied the service quality. A+."

  • "Bobo's was recommended to us by a close friend. Our experience was a very good one. We were seated immediately and our waitress paid close attention to our needs. The food was amazing. We will visit Bobo's again the next time we are in San Francisco."

  • "We've been going to Bobo's for about 10 years. It's always a great evening. The wait staff is friendly, efficient and you can tell they like their job. Food is great - we have never been disappointed."

  • " Normally the service is great, but can't say this for this time. The waiter was polite, but seemed distracted and too busy. Also, the business groups seemed to be getting served first and at a faster pace. Also, we had to find someone to get the A1 and catsup. The yams were not hot. Service has been better, much better."

  • "I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is without doubt the best steak in the city. The lobster bisque is pretty good also, as is the home made bread, mac and cheese and crab. Delicious."

  • "This was our first visit to Bobo's and we liked it very much. We had a great waiter who was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. We ordered their signature bone-in filet and it was very good. We would both return."

  • "Fabulous steak and seafood. Steak cuts like butter and is cooked to perfection. Quirky Venetian décor and odd sized rooms on different levels. Nice bar and friendly bartender. Very expensive however."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "Love their mussels and Steak. Great flavor. For the sides, my favorite are their Brussel sprouts. And the Mango dessert is very good."
    Dined on 6/8/2014
  • "Portobello Mushrooms were very good and I would suggest them to go along with your steaks. I wouldn't say my steak was better or worse than any other steak I've had at top restaurants but it certainly wasn't the best I've ever had. If you do get the bone-in filet I suggest getting it at least Medium as opposed to the suggested Medium Rare. The bone really keeps it moist and medium rare is very rare for the bone-in steaks."

  • "This was by far one of the best steaks I have ever had hands down. The sides were good as well. "

  • "we came friday evening with intention to have relaxed diner. we were out in 50 minutes. we even did not have time finish our salads when the stakes arrived.the waiter did not leave us alone and was rushing with everything. very disappointed. for the prices they charge they have to give you more time.felt like a fast food restaurant."

  • "Fantastic steaks. Michelle gave impeccable service. Crab was very tasty, but very messy to crack. I would just go with the steak next time--any of them. Sides and dessert very good. Steaks are worth the price."

  • "An interesting decor (think 1980's steakhouse meets 1970's circus) but you don't even notice it once the food comes. INCREDIBLE steaks cooked perfectly. Delicious sides (especially the twice baked potato) and 5-star steakhouse service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. A delicious meal and excellent service. I'll be back. "

  • "My wife and I have dined at Bobo's several times before. They never disappoint us! The service is always excellent and the food superb. We both had the petite filet (cooked to perfection!), twice baked potatoes (simply the best i have ever had) and a side of portobello mushrooms. We started off the meal with a Caesar salad and the crispy crab cakes. The crab cakes were great but a bit expensive for only 2 for $15, however they were extremely tasty! Our server Jorge C. was extremely polite and very attentive. Great service! We will keep coming back to this gem in the city!"

  • "Excellent steak and all the sides were delicious! Good service and fun experience."

  • "We ordered the in-bone filet mignons, twice baked potato, and Brussel sprouts. Everything was cooked to perfection and was so delicious! The hostess and waitress made it a point to wish us a happy anniversary as well. We also had an amazing spot where we sat, which was rather secluded and romantic. "

  • "Bobo's food is over rated. The steaks were good but were not "Prime" probably choice-aged. Our server was excellent. We would go back just because of him. Also the place is very old and need refreshing."

  • "Complimentary valet parking is great since its a hassle to try to find in this neighborhood. Once inside, the decor is rather unique and fitting of the jester theme but it is something people will either like or completely hate. The seating itself was cramped with the five of us crammed into a corner. The appetizers were the highlights of the night (especially the yellowtail but the crabcakes were excellent) and the steaks (bone in filet mignon) tasted average. The waiter hovered around and practically made suggestions for the most expensive items though he was attentive to keeping everyone topped up on the water."

  • "I reserved for 8:30 Saturday Arrived 15 late due to difficult parking. The hostess was great, patient, and working very hard. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. Limited wine list and only slightly passable. 15 minute wait. Crowded place and we were seated in a crowded room. The waiter was slammed and forgot part of our order. He didn't make us feel very special. The menu is beef. We felt like lost tourists and steaks are $40 each. No vegetables and no sauce. An overbaked potato is $8.00. There's better restaurants all over town in other neighborhoods."

  • "This is my daughter's favorite restaurant in San Francisco and we took her here for an early dinner before the SF Symphony as she was visiting from NYC. My first visit a couple years ago was very noisy on the second floor, with 80s music playing. The food was great on that visit. This time it was very quiet as we ate at 5pm on a Monday. In fact, we may have been the only patrons. The food was wonderful and we had great service. The server recommended a great chardonnay. The whole crab, a petite filet migeon and crabcakes were all very yummy and a share chocolate bomb for desert was appreciated by all. A wonderful, relaxed dining experience. It's also nice that they provide free valet parking as Bobo's is on busy Lombard St."

  • "I am a real foodie and so are my friends who joined me for dinner at BoBo's. It was honestly one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant this year! The blood orange margaritas with black lava salt are to die for! The complimentary buttery garlic bread topped with roasted garlic is like no other! I had the lobster soup, and the filet and crab combo with brussels sprouts. Delicious! Finger licking good my girlfriend said as she liked her fingers :-) BoBo's will not disappoint if you like good drinks, steak and seafood! Satisfied from Chicago...."
