  • "We recently dined here while staying in D.C. for the Fourth of July weekend. Overall the experience was good. We had an amazing waiter, Hector who was very professional and kind and always was there when we needed something. After requesting a new table after we were seated next to the kitchen the manager obliged us and moved us near the front of the restaurant. The food was good but definately not worth the price. We each had the filet with a prepared lobster. The filet was cooked a rare-medium which was fine since we ordered medium. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery but was okay. We passed on dessert but opted for coffee which was just OK. We had a great experience with Hector, our waiter, but I wouldn't go back."

  • "Our server was a joke. Snobbish, wouldn't give a damn about anything. I had to pour my own bottle of wine. For 150$ for the two of us I can clearly say this might have been a jewelry 30 years ago; but these days you'd be better of anywhere else. Great disappointment"

  • "Dark amd woody atmosphere just like a nice steak house should be. We had the Porter House for two that was crazy good. The waiter was qucik to accomidate our request for special crab and asparagus topping. My son and I really enjoyed the evening there. We are from Texas and this place really measured up. The manager even personally helped us hail a cab. Well done BV's!"

  • "I met an individual for a lunch meeting. I was promptly greeted and served water while I was waiting for my business constituent. When she arrived our waiter again offered drinks and then very patiently waited until we were ready to order. There was no rushing us and when we finally ordered the food was delivered promptly. The food was excellent"

Steaks fantastically prepared, sides as you would expect and the brownie sundae was fought over by our table who pushed ourselves to share desert so as not to look like gluttons. Next time, I get my own! Olivia was stellar with warm smile and infectious laugh. Handled our wise guy (and gal) table beautifully and would request by name upon return. Thanks for a lovely evening "Bobby" and Olivia."

  • "If I could give this place zero stars I would. The only thing I can remember about my horrible experience is when the check came. I presented my living social to our waiter, Gilbert and he responds oh that's for bobby vans grill not the steakhouse. However on Bobby vans official website both locations say bobby vans steakhouse- ny ave and 15th St. So Saturday I called and spoke with David who said he was the manager. He kept cutting me off, belittled me and even said "well I don't know what you want me to do I can't go back into time". David's management skills were so poor he couldn't even think of one way to rectify the situation. Even TGI Fridays would've offered a free desert. Never again!!!"

  • "Our bone-in rib eyes were large, done as ordered and we both agreed that the taste was excellent, the best that we've had, from several high end steak houses. Wait staff was very good and attentive, but not quite as good as another local establishment. The group across form us was very loud and a bit profane, but we would definitely return because of the food quality!"

  • "I couldn't wait to try Bobby Van's Steakhouse. I've been to Bobby Van's Grill and every meal has been excellent. The Steakhouse is a bit more pricey, but what a let down on the steak. My husband ordered the ribeye and what a disappointment. It was fair - at best. Not to mention he also ordered the home fries and after one bite, was done. My soup and salad were excellent, but that's not why we came. "

  • "The two-seater table was perfect for my b-day! Tuopo suggested the cold, seafood trio (shrimp, lobster tail, lump crab meat). I'm not much of a cold seafood person; but, was delicious! Gotta love the Riesling AND the sweet chili tossed calamari...OH YEAAAAAAH! Wrap up that delicious meal with chocolate mousse mixed with pineapple INSIDE A CHOCOLATE TEACUP! Are you kidding me...LOVED IT!"

Started with wine & a delicious calamari appetizer, followed by salads, two mouthwatering seafood main courses (I said at least 3 times it was the richest of flavor meals I'd ever eaten out), and ended with a sweet chocolate dessert.   • "This place gets it right on a lot of levels - the food is excellent and the service is equally as good. It is a fancy steakhouse, so it is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Perfect steak with delicious sides. Escargot were amazing. Service was spot on - attentive but not pushy or overly present. They also boast a nice bar menu if you want a the same quality food in small quantities and cheaper prices. Highly recommend this place."

  • "The evening began with being seated at a nice booth,. at our request in what appeared to be a very quiet area. The waiter gave us complimentary glasses of champagne and congratulated us on our anniversary (we noted this occasion in our reservation). The food was fabulous and the wait staff attentive, without being intrusive. The manager came by to wish us a happy anniversary as well and to check on us to make sure everything was going well. The only negative thing was a very loud patron several tables over sitting with a group of 6 - the woman had a voice like a loud siren and it grated on our nerves and interrupted our quiet conversation constantly while we ate. We didn't mention this to wait staff as didn't know what they could do. "

  • "I met a friend at Bobby Van's for dinner because it was close to where she worked. I was looking forward to her company -- never imagined that the food would be so good. I had the scallops. These were huge and excellently prepared. The service was impeccable and we were not rushed so that we could visit. It was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "For the price of our porterhouse I would have at least expected a juicy savory, melt in your mouth steak. It was bland. No seasoning what so ever. This place does not compete with the J.Gillerts, Charlie Palmer or Morton's. I've had better steak at outback frankly. Calamari was ok, but loaded with a large amount of unnecessary parmesan cheese and a bit dry."
