A word from Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk
Share in a one-of-a-kind celebration of music and culture as Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk takes you on a musical journey through the life of the "King of Reggae." Bob Marley’s songs of faith, hope, rebellion, and determination have brought inspiration and joy to audiences everywhere. Working closely with Rita Marley and the Bob Marley Foundation, we have created a replica of Bob's home on 56 Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica. Inside, artifacts, photos, and video clips from his legendary career surround visitors in the open-air veranda and courtyard. The cuisine features Jamaican-influenced appetizers, entrees and desserts. Some of the most popular items are the Oxtail Stew, the Sun is Shining grilled chicken breast marinated in Jamaican curry sauce, and the Taste of Jamaica appetizer platter featuring veggie & beef patties, mango wings and yucca fries.Continued

  • "Restaurant was great, service was efficient, setting worked, catered for all - kids, vegetarians - would definitely recommend. Best of all was the music - the reggae themes in the background, whilst not drowning any conversation, were great. We all loved it. "

  • "Bob Marley's was good and relaxing. We sat outside for dinner. This restaurant/Club is located upstairs at Universal CityWalk. I had a dark and stormy cocktail that went very well with the Jerk Chicken that I ordered. I would recommend visiting this restaurant late in the evening for the live reggae band, drinks, and bar food."

  • "We have been frequenting Jamaica for over 30 years so when I read about this restaurant we had to go! Atmosphere and service was great but food was not quite like in Negril. I had the very traditional salt fish dish I have had there many many times in Jamaica and it was definitely not ask good."

  • "Nice spot for dinner with the kids and relaxing Caribbean music. Great drinks, food was ok. Kids could dance in the courtyard and have a good time. Very casual and easy dinner after a busy day in the park."

  • "This is a great place to eat at Citywalk area. The food is great and the portions are small not like other restaurants that pile food on and you over eat."

  • "After 9pm, the band came on and was very loud... Distracting with family dinner and couldn't hear each other."

  • "I made a reservation here thinking we would really enjoy the live music and the food would be no more mediocre than most of the nearby restaurants at City Walk. We were happy to find that in addition to great live reggae music and fun Bob Marley memorabilia, the food was actually quite good. I had the shrimp curry and my son had the jerk chicken, both of which were very good. I love sweet plantains, when done right, and these were so good I ordered more for dessert. I tried two different cocktails and they were both delicious and "honest" drinks. We bought some Jamaican hot pepper sauce to take home. If you are headed to City Walk and like Carribean food, this is definitely one of the best restaurants there."

  • "A very authentic restaurant, the food was great. It appeared they were going to have some live music but due to our small children and the time of night we were not able to stay. This would be a place my wife and I would go back to without the kids. The kids menu is limited and they ate very little of their meals. It would be a place for dinner, drinks and live music (a good date night). I would love to come back! It felt like we were back in the Caribbean again!"

  • "Outstanding experience! So cool to find a themed restaurant a/ truly GR8 food! A large statue of Marley (gr8 4 pics) awaits your arrival outside the restaurant (a replica of his pad), as does a friendly team of hosts. U r led down a corridor & into a restaurant that provides a total escape from the real world. Artifacts & memorabilia hang from every wall serving as the greatest tribute to the life of Marley we have ever seen! I couldn't even make it to the table without being drawn to the small but excellent gift shop filed with cool Marley Merch! Food? Outstanding! Great Carribean themed dishes that tasted fantastic! Music? Killer! The house music was great, but the reggae band was phenomenal! If you love Marley, it's an absolute MUST!"

  • "The restaurant is outdoors and had a great live band. Definitely could feel the Caribbean vibe. The food was pretty good, could have used a little more flavor on the chicken sandwich, but the salsa was great."

  • "Group of 9 of my family and friends had a raggae of a time at Bob Marley for my continuous birthday bash. Food was great, one love drink was awesome. Will be back again. Love the open table it was a lil wait time do to large group but that was fine because we didn't have to wait in line. Spring and Summer this will be the place to be. Love it!"

  • "Arrived a little late for our reservation and were seated immediately. Was a very busy Saturday night and it had rained, which seemed like it had them a little panicked as much of the seating is outdoors, but it did not effect us one bit! Got a great table just as the AWESOME reggae band was starting. Our server was very nice & offered suggestions from the Jamaican menu. I had chicken curry, with the bone in (only lists boneless on menu), per her recommendation and it was very good. My husband had a traditional salt cod dish, which he loved. Wings as an appetizer were great! Food was very authentic. We relaxed, enjoying the music & atmosphere for at least 2 hours. I would highly recommend this for a great dinner/night out."

  • "I ordered the jerk chicken, which was advertised as a half chicken but only included a breast and a thigh (no leg). It was overcooked, bland and very dry. So was the rice. The server was pleasant, but it took so long to get my drink that the food arrived first. The staff was friendly and the music was excellent, and I enjoyed the atmosphere -- just not the food."

  • "Love visiting Bob Marley's and do so often. Great atmosphere, fantastic live music and the food and frozen drinks are wonderful. This last trip involved a lack-luster waitress, but other than that, we've always had great service. Highly recommend this eatery to friends and family."

  • "For the first time in 13 years hubby and me were able to "escape" and leave our three children home for Valentine's Day. My husband is a fanatic of Bob Marley but his taste in food is a little limited, not the adventurous kind, so I checked their menu and there was a perfect fit for him. We stayed for several hours enjoying the live band, our food and the quite vibrant ambiance all around us. Our waiter was quite helpful and very friendly and as time passed the place turned from a romantic relaxed restaurant into a wild/fun reggae dancing club with audiences from twenty to eighty. We don't recall having this much fun since, well , a long time ago!! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family."

  • "Skip this place. If you absolutely must get a piece of the Bob Marley pie, just take your picture with the statue outside and then move on. Seriously. We arrived on time, but we had to wait for our table, then we got in to find that the restaurant was 90% empty! I had the Belly Full, because I love pate. The breading was too floury and the beef was bland. The best part of the meal was the yucca fries, and they were under-cooked. For dessert, I had the Chocolate Jamaican Sensation. I ended up just eating the frosting, because the cake was dry. There were 5 of us, and we all had a similar experience. And don't get me started on the service. If we wanted something we had to flag the server down, she never came by just to check."

  • "It's a shame when a restaurant with a lot of potential based on its food falls short overall because of an underachieving front of house staff. In general, just by looking around the restaurant & watching them, it's clear that no one there cares about the guest experience. I ordered a new dish of theirs - the Ackee & Saltfish (national dish of Jamaica, very authentic) - which was excellent. But the food came out after a 50 minute ticket time, leaving me sitting there immensely frustrated by the time the food came out. And they weren't even busy! In the interim, my server acted as if I was inconveniencing him every time I asked for anything. Very good food, but apathy from a whole restaurant of people negates that to a certain extent."

  • "This was my second trip to Universal Studios Orlando with my family. During my first visit we really looked forward to dining at Margaritaville and were very very disappointed. It was the worst dining experience of my life. So this time we decided to try Bob Marley's and it turned out to be a highlight of our visit to Universal. The food was awesome. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it."

  • "We did not know what to expect from our reservation for our group of 12, and Bob Marley's far exceeded expectations. The food was delicious with something for everyone, the ambience was lovely and special, the staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and the band was FANTASTIC! The staff and band sang happy birthday to our 8 year old son and our group has put Bob Marley's at the top of our list of things to do the next time we are in Florida. Thank you for a great fun and upbeat night! What is unique and enjoyable experience."
